Chapter 2

NOTE: Dont read this. It's not done.

It'd been three months since Tokaido had met Kurama. He came over every so often, just to visit. She thought it was nice, but she also got the feeling he felt that he had to be nice to her, like he owed her something. And she didn't like that. He didnt owe her anything.

"Tokaido?" she heard Kurama call, knocking on the door.

Tokaido pulled the door open, smiling a bit at Kurama. "Hey," she greeted.

He just nodded, stepping inside. "I can't stay long. I'm on my way to see Koenma," he said.

"Okay," Tokaido replied, "It's nice to see you again, anyway."

"Thanks," Kurama said.

Tokaido nodded. "What did you come here for?" she asked.

"Nothing, really. I was around here, anyway. And I'm not really worried about being there on time, Botan always has trouble getting Yusuke and Kuwabara there. So I figured I'd see what's going on,"

"Ah. Well, nothing, as you probably can see. But don't you usually go there with Hiei?" Tokaido asked.

"Yes. He's somewhere around here, I think..." Kurama replied.

"You brought him here?" Tokaido asked.

Kurama shook his head slightly, sighing and relaxing, back against the wall. "Not really, no. Koenma sent us here to look around,"

"So you finally tell the truth... What do you want?" Tokaido asked.

"Koenma thinks there was a portal from Makai to Ningenkai opened around here for a short time... Do you know anything?"

"Would I still be here if I knew there'd been a portal, Kurama? Honestly," Tokaido said, looking out the window, staring hard as she saw something move.

"I don't know, Tokaido. No one else will say anything else, either,"

"It's not the information they tell you that's important, Kurama. It's the information you beat out of them that's good. None of the demons here would give you an honest answer, I know that,"

Kurama smiled. "And I suppose you'd just go beat all the demons here for information?"

"Will you pay me?" Tokaido asked, smirking slightly.

Kurama shook his head.

"Was that a no?" Tokaido asked.

Kurama looked back at her, smiling. "I don't think that would be a good idea," he said.

"You have a better one? If not..."

"Yes, actually, but you have to help,"

"I -have- to help?" Tokaido asked.
