Chobits Manga

After about a week of begging my friend to let me borrow his Chobits manga boxset, he gave in. At first, I wasnt sure what to think of it because I've seen up to episode 16 fansubbed, but when I started reading it, it seemed the same but at the same time, very diffrent. Chobits is a manga done by Clamp, it is about a 20 year old ronin named Hideki, who has a low paying job and no girlfriend. While he's walking home from work at night he finds Chi, a Persocom. Persocoms are computers in the future. They look and act just like humans, but they are after all, just machines. Hideki soon discovers that Chi may be a legendary Persocom called a Chobit.

Chobits is a very good manga that pulls at your emotions throught the whole story. At one moment you could be laughing your head off, and the next, you could be very sad or lost in thought. The artwork is also very well done, and looks very similar to the anime. The translation was done very well, but the only problem I had was they translated Sumomo's name to Plum. but I can see why, because they make jokes about it. It's hard to tell whether or not this manga is shoujo, or shounen, because the fanservice points to shounen while the storyline points to shoujo, so I'd have to say its a great manga for anyone who likes the comedy romance type of manga.
