My Rambling's

My Rambling's Images Lyrics Stories Links

I must first start of with a note of explanation about how this series has achieved the extraordinary feat of causing me to create a page about it.  My roommate and I started watching this series after catching a small promo for it on another video.  The fact that we had, at first, refused to rent it because of the…erm…colorful? covers, and now can’t even remember what video we saw the promo on, must say something about it.  Or us.  I’m not sure which.  Anyways… J  My roommate and I quickly discerned who was who, and the rest of the series bore us out incredibly.  Each episode only reinforced our identifications (“Oh my God!  That is sooooo you!”)

The inhabitants of the Spooner Continent have been divided into two categories, those who can use magic, and those who can’t.  To protect the common people from the tyranny of the evil sorcerers, there exists a secret group known as Sorcerer Hunters!  (or Bakuretsu Hunters, or Explosive Hunters, or…yeah)  The series follows the exploits and adventures of the five members of this exclusive group as they fight evil sorcerers and ultimately, themselves.  The character’s are marvelous, the animation wonderful, the relationships loveable, and the storylines intriguing.

And now, here's just a little something to prove just how highly I regard this series.  The list has been supplied by my loveable roommate, Tira-chan.  (Though I've commented, especially where I saw a decided bent towards Tira...)

You know you've seen too much
Bakuretsu Hunters when...

bullet You practice laughing like Tira when she transforms...and become good at it.    (She is! She is!)
bulletYou argue with your roommate over which one of you--Tira or Chocolate--gets Carrot.
bulletYou decide that neither of you should get him...that you'll just share.    (*blush*  We did...)
bulletYou cast yourself as Tira, your roommate as Chocolate, and begin looking for male counterparts for the live-action version of BH.    (see above comment)
bulletYour roommate calls you Tira-chan and you call her Onee-sama.
bulletYou get mad when a fan fic writer chooses Chocolate to be with Carrot instead of Tira.  (Ahem... I actually don't find that combination quite so disturbing...)
bulletYou scream the first time you hear Chocolate say, "I think I'll go make some ramen." because that's what your roommate always says.    (I said it long before seeing it!  Honest!)
bulletYou coerce your local anime store into giving you free posters of BH...one for you and one for your roommate.    (And then proudly display it so people can see both from your doorways.)
bulletYou take a picture at your roommate's wedding with you and her posing like Tira and Chocolate in the BH promotional poster.    (Oooooh, you know we will!)
bulletYour screen saver is a rotation of all the pics you could find of Chocolate.    (That's Me!)
bulletYou shout ‘hey!' out loud in time to Chocolate's (Russian-sounding) transformation music with your roommate when you're driving together.    (OMG...I'm dying because it's TRUE!  We even do the leg kicks...though they don't work so well for the driver... :)
bulletYou consider pants, suspenders, a pair of knee-high boots and a hat a complete outfit.    (What?  They're not?)
bulletThe idea of whipping a large furry creature with big horns becomes one of your private fantasies.    (I just said I like the way his nose crinkles when he transforms!)
bulletYou and your roommate agree that you wouldn't mind sharing Carrot with each other...and you mean it.    (Kind of a timeshare thing...I'll take him for three weeks, you can have him for one)

Okay...If you like this list, PLEASE go look at my roomies site.  She is a great writer, and her site's a lot of fun...or will be soon!  It also has this list in its entirety.
