The focal point of the series, Carrot Glace is quite possibly the anime kingdom’s biggest woman-chasing drool pot.  Sad thing is that he never quite manages to get anywhere, and any time there is even the slightest hint of a possibility, up pop Chocolate and Tira.  But we’ll get into them later.

Carrot is the eldest child of Onion and Apricot Glace (deceased).  Usually a bit of a wimp, by his own admission, he does have one “talent,” one of Zoanthropy.  His body theoretically contains the genes of 12 mythical beasts, which he is able to transform into when they are activated by the use of magic.  His body absorbs enemy magic, transforming him into a beast with matching power.  This incredible ability has saved the lives of the Hunters on more than one occasion, but it does have its drawbacks.  Only Tira or Chocolate are able to return him to normal…which they gladly do with their whips.

Carrot’s other notable…quality…eh… is his passionate devotion to the pursuit of girls.  No girl is safe from his advances except Chocolate and Tira.  Eh?  Go figure…  Beneath his lecherous hide, there beats a heart of gold that does truly care for his friends.

Tira is the youngest member of the Hunter group, but by no means is she defenseless.  The younger sister of Chocolate Misu, she was only a small child when Zai Torte adopted the orphaned girls, only to later abandon and try to kill them.  Tira and her sister Chocolate were saved by Onion and Apricot Glace, Carrot and Marron’s parents.  She has not yet resolved her feelings about Torte.

Another area where her feelings are ambiguous is Carrot.  As children, he looked out for the others, especially Tira, who looked up to him.  Her admiration developed into love, but love she doesn’t know how to express.  The signs are obvious, though, when he pursues other girls, venting her anger by physically…punishing him, with the help of her sister Chocolate.  Although, she is not always quite grateful for Chocolate’s help, as her sister's attitude, who constantly strips off her clothes when Carrot is around, drives her crazy.

Tira always wears a large red coat and glasses, which make it easier for her to hide behind, but when there is trouble, she whips them off with a maniacal laugh, transforming into her fighting outfit, which varies between in the anime and manga.  Her weapons are a whip and a spool of lethal thread.  She also has a working knowledge of the healing magic called Gaias, having been tutored by Apricot Glace.

Ah, Chocolate... Sweet, seductive, decadently delightful Chocolate Miss.  The eldest of the Misu sisters, Chocolate is extremely protective of her younger sister, Tira.  “She might be annoying and ugly, but she’s still my sister, and I want her back!”  Orphaned and adopted by Zai Torte, who later abandoned and tried to kill them.  Chocolate and Tira were saved by Onion and Apricot Glace, Carrot and Marron’s parents.  Unlike Tira, she has no ambivalence in her feelings towards Torte, hating and wanting to kill him for what he did to them.

Also unlike her sister, she is quite decided in her feelings about Carrot, openly expressing them every chance she gets.  Her direct attitude, and the fact that she quite often initiates the punishment he receives every time he chases girls, is the reason Carrot is afraid of her.

Chocolate tries not to transform if she can help it, knowing that Carrot is especially frightened of her in fighting mode, which also varies in the anime and manga.  The one consistency between to two is the large black hat she wears.  Don’t mock the hat, though.  Dahling gave it to her, and there is very little that will get her madder than insulting it.  Her weapon of choice is a garrote, a thin, steel cable, which she throws with deadly accuracy.

Marron Glace and his elder brother Carrot, are as different as two people can be.  The youngest child of Onion and Apricot Glace (deceased), Marron is calm and reflective, a master of oriental and defensive magic, and possibly the strongest member of the team.  With looks that take after his mother, he is also quite handsome, resulting in the unwanted advances of Gateau.   Fiercely protective of his older brother who defended him from a gang of bullies as a child, he gets a little...defensive? whenever Carrot has been hurt.

Gateau Mocha.  Ah…what to say about him.  Ummmm… Strong, handsome, built… and he loves to cut wood.  Erm…yeah.  A body building machine, Gateau is impervious to most physical and magical attacks.  When he’s not striking a pose, he is admiring the beautiful scenery, and whether it is that of Tira or Marron makes little difference.
