You're standing at the entrance of an auditorium. People are moving in around you. You better find a seat quickly before they're all taken up. You're lucky enough to find a seat toward the front, but not too far up. The lights dim and the audience quiets down. You look toward the stage where the dark green curtains are closed. Suddenly a spot light appears, and out steps a young lady with caramel skin and long brown hair. She seems to be carrying a black cat. It turns its head and you think its eyes might be purple, but you're not sure at this distance. A microphone appears and she begins to talk.
"Konnichiwa minna-san! (Or Ohayo or Konbanwa, depending the time) Thank you for attending this spectacular event. My name is Ariana and this annoying blob of fur is Ti. He can be ignored." "Hey!" "Oh come off it!" The audience laughs at their exchange. "Well folks, looks like this is gonna be an enjoyable show. Before we introduce the cast, we're gonna tell you a little story." A stool appears and Ariana sets Ti down on it. The cat clears his throat. Our story begins at a summer camp. This was your typical camp, full of all different sorts of kids. There were the energetic ones, the rebellious ones, the caring ones, the smart ones...all together in this one camp. One day it suddenly began to snow, which was incredibly strange since it doesn't snow in the summer. Without really knowing how, seven of the kids from the camp get transported from a summer camp to another world. There they meet a group of strange creatures: digimon! They find that each kid has a partner digimon to help them in this strange world. After the digimon protect their partners from an evil digimon, they all become friends. The kids soon learn that they are in the digiworld. The digimon guide them through this strange world, protecting them from evil digimon. Soon the group discovers that some of the evil digimon they meet up with aren't evil at all, but good digimon gone bad. An evil power is turning these nice digimon bad with black gears. It soon becomes apparrent that this power is bent on destroying the digiworld.
After destroying evil after evil, the kids finally find a way to leave the digiworld and return to their own. But not for long! It turns out that there is a mysterious eighth digidestined in Odaiba. The digidestined have to find the child before the evil digimon do.
The digidestined do eventually find the eighth child, unfortunately so has Myotismon, an incredibly evil digimon. They are finally able to beat him, when the eight kids are transported back to the digiworld. There they find still more evil digimon and battle it out with them, and eachother. Eventually the group pulls together and they are able to save the digiworld and their own world from total destruction. They finally get to go home, but must leave their digimon behind.
There is a mixture of sadness and delight among the audience. There is silence once again as Ariana clears her throat.
Of course, the story doesn't end there. Our second act takes place four years later. It's time for a new group of kids to enter the digiworld, with some help from the old gang. The kids soon find that a new enemy has arisen, the Digimon Emperor. He takes control of digimon and turns them evil with his dark rings. These rings are controlled by control spires. In order to help the enslaved digimon, they must destroy the control spires.
They discover the Digimon Emperor's true identity, which turns out to be a kid himself. It turns out this kid also has a digimon. In an explosive battle, the Digimon Emperor ends up hurting his own digimon partner, who sacrifices himself to help the digidestined. This acts as a slap to the Digimon Emperor's face, and he realizes how much harm he has caused. After much soul searching, he joins the digidestined.
The digidestined set to work on knocking down the rest of the control spires when they discover a new threat. The control spires are turning into evil digimon! The person behind this is a mysterious woman, who later reveals herself as a digimon.
The digidestined battle it out with this new threat, only to discover that there is a mysterious man behind everything, with an interesting past of his own. With the fate of several kids resting on the battle, the digidestined must try to defeat the mysterious man, and the greater evil behind him.
And that is the story of the digiworld and its Chosen Children!
The audience applauds the two story tellers. Suddenly the spotlight begins to move around at a rapid pace. Different color lights blink across the closed curtain. And now ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been wating for. Introducing...the cast!
