  • February 25, 2003: FUNimation is currently in negotiations with Cartoon Network to air their much loved Blue Gender. It would join Adult Swim and the likes of anime such as Reign: The Conqueror, Lupin the 3rd, Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop. Negotiations are scheduled to be finished soon so check back here for updates. As reported here, Spirited Away received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature. Sadly, Hayao Miyazaki will not be present. The decision was made to send Toshio Suzuki in his place. Also, Ikkitousen, the high school martial arts manga will be adapted to an anime series. Ikkitousen's story revolves around well known warriors from China's Three Kingdom era who have been reincarnated to present day Japan.
  • February 24, 2003: Ventura Distribution Inc. has released a boxed set called the Dynamite Dozen. It comes packed with twelve classic anime titles. This is an ultimate collector's item and would make a great gift. Pick it up here for $172.95. The box retails for $239.99. Also since I have you here I'll go ahead and mention that the Cowboy Bebop movie is slated for a US theatrical release on March 28th. Mark your calanders. Also it should be mentioned that Spirited Away has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Let's cross our fingers!
