is a technique used to generate photo realistic images. Employing the natural rules of light, it can reproduce stunning effects like reflection, refraction, transparency, etc. The end result can be very impressive. POV-Ray is a freeware ray-tracing program. It's a bit difficult to use because it doesn't include a modeller. A modeller is a program that lets you "arrange" a scene, i.e. to create the objects, set their position, color, reflections etc. Instead, POV-Ray uses a scene description language that looks pretty much like a programming or scripting language. Of course, you can use any modeller that can export to the POV-Ray scene format (a good shareware modeller is Moray). Once you create a scene file (by hand or using a modeller) you can start rendering it in POV-Ray. However, raytracing can be a looooong process! Depending on the complexity of the scene & lighting and the power of the CPU, a rendering can last from a few seconds to many hours (even days!). Unfortunatelly, graphics accelaration doesn't help, because everything is done in software using complicated math.

It is really a collection of things I've written in the past, put together in a single program. There are three parts to the program: sPixViewer the viewer ,sPixImage a moveable graphic window and sPixThumbs a thumbnail viewer. The sPixViewer can be used to view saved images and convert, save, copy, print or delete them. Resizing sPixViewer will stretch the image either proportionally or to your sizing.
