Urd is Belldandy's half-sister, and she's the second Helper Goddess Office Goddess we meet. In the manga, she is introduced in volume 2, and in the anime, she makes her appearance in episode 2, Midsummer Night's Dream. In both cases, she is introduced when she materializes out of Keiichi's television - her teleportation medium and her link to the heaven. Urd has tanned skin and flowing, slightly curled white hair. She has green eyes ,and like the other goddesses, bears the goddess markings. Her marking look like an upside-down triangle.

In addition to acting as the Yggdrasil System's Maintainer, she is also the series' love goddess. Urd is very good with magic potions, and her room is basically filled with them. In addition to that, she has a special passion for sake along with singing.

Urd's Realm

Urd holds the realm of The Past. If the Yggdrasil System crashes (as it did once), and Urd has no other source of energy, then she will regress into the past, and become smaller and smaller until she disappears. Since Belldandy holds the symbol of the present, she doesn't really have anything happen to her, and Skuld progress's and becomes an adult. However if Urd has alcohol, then she will not regress. But Urd likes expensive sake....^_^

Grade Two, Restricted, Limited License?

Yep, that's what it says. For punishment Urd's Goddess License has been sent to the shredding machine practically. Don't forget, Urd is a bad girl.

What? Urd is Belldandy's half-sister?

That's right. In the manga volume 5, when Urd turns into a demon, Belldandy explains to Keiichi that Urd is her half-sister. Urd is half-demon and half-goddess (with her Mother being the demon), and the devil side is more or less the reason for Urd's wackyness(?). In manga volume 10 and 11, Mara splits the devil side of Urd from the good, and it's a real kick to see Urd's goddess side act and dress like Belldandy.

Is Urd really 170cm tall?

The height 170 cm was obtained from the interview with Fujishima Kosuke in the June 1993 of Newtype. In volume 2 of the manga (Page 128) she is described as being 165cm tall.

Virus collecting?

In the volume 16 of the manga series, we see Urd mention that virus collecting is one of her hobbies. She uses this virus to temporarly disable the wish Belldandy granted Keiichi the night.

World of Elegance

Urd has an angel called World of Elegance. She looks very interesting because unlike any other angels, she has one black wing and one white wing. She first appeared when Skuld built a machine to increase her power so that she could summon Noble Scarlet (she is Skuld's angel, who turned back into egg because Skuld lacked enough power as a goddess to fully control her). However, something went wrong and it created a huge wall of water, trapping Skuld and Keiichi inside. Belldandy tries to free them by using her angel. However, Holy bell, who belongs in the category "Wind", can't do anything to the wall, so Belldandy asked Urd to summon her angel, who belongs in the category "Fire" and therefore is capable of taking down the wall of water.

Urd's history

In her initial appearance, she had straight hair, and her eyes were sort of cat-like. Her skin was a little darker, too. Now, she has curly white hair. The English verion of her name used to be spelled "ULD" (as seen on volume 2 of manga when she gives Keiichi her card and shows the record of Keiichi and Belldandy's love life), but soon after that, Fujishima changed it to "URD". Also, up to volume five, she was supposed to have more power than Belldandy, but since volume six, It looks like Belldandy is the most powerful of all goddesses. Also, the appearances of her medicine have changed. At first, she uses magic and common ingredients from the kitchen to make her medicines, but now, she has a room full of various kinds of medicine in a very nice looking glass bottles.

Urd's personality didn't really change much. However, her way of treating her younger sisters and Keiichi have changed a lot since her initial appearance. For instance, she no longer gets into huge fights with Skuld, she just teases her a lot.

All of the Goddesses have their own angels they can summon when they are needed. They must obey the goddesses completly, and they seems to be physically and emotionally linked to the goddess up to a certain degree. As what Peorth said : "We are like one being - with shared body and mind." In more recent episodes of the Manga series, while contradicting with what was shown in the earlier manga and OVA, goddesses seems to require the angels when using powerful spells.
