Mara is a demon from Nifelheim (Nordic mythology's version of Hell) who mainly passes her time causing truble for Keiichi and the Goddesses. She has blond/white long hair that looks sort of like Urd's, two thin diagonal strips in a \ / shape on her forehead that indicates she is a first-class demon, and double triangles under her eyes. She is also very allergic (?) to good luck charms, and starts to dance whenever she hears a rock music. She used to be a close friend of Urd's until Urd had to carry on her duty as a goddess, and Mara as a demon. Being evil, she has a preference for dark clothes with a slight touch of SM (and I don't mean Sailor Moon...)
Mara never made any appearances in anime series except short appearance in the opening sequence. However, she makes an appearances in the Tokuten Ou (King of Priviliages) CD, along with many other characters who never has any part in the anime.
Mara's History
Mara, when she made her first appearance, looked a lot like a male. Her eyes were smaller, and her complexion was that of a male. However, after her second appearance when it is made clear that she is a female, she started to look more and more like a female. Her personality didn't change much, however, her relationship with the goddesses changed. In the beginning, it was sort of like old friends getting in arguments with each other. Neither side did anything to really hurt each other. However, as the series went on, her status as a bad guy became stronger, and she would do some terrible things, although the concept of her being old friends with the goddesses was never abandonded, as seen on their hot spring trip in volume 10 of manga.
Oh My Goddess is property of Fujishima Kousuke, and in the US is distributed by Animeigo (the anime), and Dark Horse (the manga).
