This notice concern ring members who did not have either the Default
Web Ring or the Customized Web
Ring on their page. You probably don't know that the ring
navigation code must be pasted on the url page that you submit, or else
you will fail the navigation test automatically perform by the WebRing.
Sites with broken navigation bar are automatically suspended and those
with working navigation bar are automatically activated, when I choose to
set the Auto-Management option on.
This is for my easier management, as the ring grows with more members, it
is too time-consuming that I have to check manually every site to ensure
that the navigation code is on still the page.
Right now most of the site in
the ring fails the test, I will email all members shortly to inform them
of the situation. Some may ask why shouldn't I just leave it to the ring
members to decide where to put up the web ring
code, as long as it's on a certain page on the site it still serve the
purpose. Like I said above I cannot allow all site to do so as more and
more sites join the ring later, how do I know if the member suddenly
decide to close the site, or the site simply get deleted, without me being
inform? It will broke the navigation of the ring.
I understand that most people
do not want to add the navigation ring code onto their entrance page,
which is usually the url that they submitted. So now I will offer this
simplified text-linked navigation code and the invisible navigation code.
If you refuse to choose this two alternates, I am sorry that your site
will be suspended. I hope you understand.
The ring navigation can still
be passed with only five links on the page that you have submitted to the
ring. Special thanks to theGOinstitute
for inspiring the idea. Here is the example:
Text-linked
Ring Click
here to get the navigation code and paste it on the url (page)
you submit when you joined the ring.
Change the ++id++ in the html fragment to your id assigned to
you, remember to remove the ++ from the html fragment.
Invisible
Ring If you wonder why I didn't
have the navigation codes on the entrance page of my own sites and still
passed the test, it's because I hide the text-linked navigation code (make
it invisible). I am not sure how the code works, I just paste it into the
body of my page, but rest assure it won't show on your page when it's
published on the Internet (works on Internet Explorer). Click
here to get the navigation code and paste it on the body of
your page.
Change the ++id++ in the html fragment to your id assigned to
you, remember to remove the ++ from the html fragment.
Almost forgot, if you use this
"invisible" code please paste the normal ring which can be seen
in one of your page - so that the ring won't be broken. If you have any questions, feel free to email the
RingMaster.
