Washu___
There is a lot to be said about Miss. Washu, or rather, Washu-chan. She is very clever, witty, and confident. She is independant, smart, motherly, and a goddess. I don't see how people could not like her. she has a great sense of humor, loves crabs, and playing around with people to get them agrivated. She's fun-loving, but always keeps her cool. She is always calm in times of danger, and is very strong...don't let her twelve year old appearance fool you. She is really 20,000 years old. But even with her child-like appearance, it's still so easy to see her expierience in life. Beforehand: Reading this reveals MANY spoilers, do not read if you haven't finished the OAV series! Washu is one of the three goddesses of the universe. One being, Tokimi, the second,Tsunami, and our third, being Washu. She descended unto the universe as a mortal with an eagerness to expierience life...and here...is what happened... Washu was a popular student, and headmaster at the prestigious Space Academy of Planet Todain. A pupil of hers, Kagato, kidnapped her in 5903, and put her to work on Ryoko, and Ryo-ohki (but that is questionable whether she built them before or after her being kidnapped). He then entrapped her, frozen, in a crystal, and a curse covering the seal to open it. Mihoshi inadvertently frees her from her (over) 10,000 year sleep. After the situation with Kagato, Washu goes with Tenchi, and lives with the gang. She is the fifth, and final tenchi girl to show up in the OAV series. While at the academy, Washu mariied a student of high social status. They had one son with curly blonde hair. Both were taken from Washu, because she had very low, or no social status at all. Washu, angered, made herself a child, claiming that "grownups" cared too greatly for lineage, and social status. Washu is the mother of Ryoko, and Ryo-ohki. Ryoko was created with Mass, and Washu's ovum (let's be mature). Ryoko was more human than Ryo-ohki, and was brainwashed by Kagato to attack Jurai. Ryo-ohki is another creature created by Washu. Ryo-ohki is a cabbit, half-rabbit, and half-cat. She can also turn into a spaceship, and is/was Ryoko's main source of transportation. Washu really wants Ryoko to call her Mom (perhaps she is filling the void of her lost son, with Ryoko being her daughter), but there is really small chance of you seeing that happen. Washu also considers herself mom to Ryo-ohki as well. Washu built her subspace laboratory under the stairs of tenchi's home. The lab is infinite, spanning on over five planets, with beaming transportations from one to the other. Washu spends most of her time there. Washu also has a transparent laptop that she can bring up anywhere, anytime. She also has a floating pillow in her laboratory. Washu is always willing a helping hand, and comfort to all of the residents of tenchi's house. She playfully acts like she's in love with Tenchi, solely to annoy ryoko, and ayeka. Washu shares an interestinng mother/daughter relationship with Ryoko, and Ryo-ohki. She shares an indifferent relationship with Ayeka. Washu has a pretty good relationship with Lord Yosho, whom she calls Lord Katsuhito. Though it is non-romantic, they are very friendly, probably because of their ability to communicate with eachother, both being, technically, so old and all. She has a motherly kind of relationship with Sasami. Washu says that Mihoshi is really a genius, but otherwise calls her bubble-head. With Noboyuki, it is pure indifference. In my opinion, her OAV appearances are really "classic" Washu-ism. In Pretty Sammy, I like her too. But in the TV series, and ESPECIALLY enchi in Tokyo, I don't really like her. In TMIL1, she had a large role, and I loved her in it. In TMIL2, I liked her as well. I haven't seen the other movie, so I don't really know. Washu has suffered great loss in her time, and putting that behind her must be difficult. Her strength in that aspect is godlike. Bottom line, Washu is the coolest, long-live Washu! |
