If I Could Change You - Written by PhantomScribe72

Chapter One

Vegeta grimaced in pain as he walked up the hill. That fool Kakarrott had gotten in a few good blows that afternoon. He smirked as he consoled himself with the fact that the third class loser was probably hurting more than him. He turned his head to look at Krillin and Gohan. At least he hadn’t gotten the snot beat out of him as badly as those two had. He sighed deeply as his shoulders began to ache. He’d have to be sure to get the woman to give him a thorough massage when they got home. He was sure she’d protest, but he’d make sure to make it worth her while.

He turned his attention to the two warriors walking in front of him. They had stopped walking and were talking. Vegeta covered his eyes against the flash of light that lit up the sky as Piccolo flew off into the air.

“Where’s he going?” Vegeta asked Goku, who was also watching Piccolo’s departure.

“To meditate,” he answered. “He always likes to meditate after a sparring session.”

“Humph,” Vegeta growled. “He ought to spend less time mediating and more time training.”

Goku laughed. “Hey you two,” he called to Krillin and Gohan, “are you coming or what?”

“Give me a break,” Krillin called back. “I can still fell Vegeta’s fist in my gut.”

“I think married life with 18 has made you soft,” Goku laughed.

“Give the little guy a break,” Gohan said. “He took quite a beating today.”

“You should talk,” Vegeta mumbled.

“Come on,” Goku said, “let’s get back to the house. I’m sure Chi Chi has started dinner by now and I’m starving.”

The foursome walked the rest of the way to the house in silence. When they reached the clearing just behind the house, they heard the sound of high-pitched female laughter flowing through the air.

“I wonder what the hell’s so funny.” Krillin wondered out loud.

“If I had to bet,” Vegeta said, “I’d say it probably has something to do with us.”

“Oh please,” Gohan said rolling his eyes. “I’m sure our wives have more interesting things to talk about than us.”

“Ha,” Vegeta laughed. “They always end up talking about us when they get together.”

“What about us?” Krillin asked curiously.

“Oh, lots of things,” Vegeta replied. “But usually it’s about sex.”

Goku sucked in a shocked breath. “Now, Vegeta, I don’t think Chi Chi would talk about such things.”

“Oh, please,” Vegeta said rolling his eyes. “My woman knows more about your love life than you do.”

“No way,” Goku said defensively. “Chi Chi’s not like that. She’s way too proper to talk about sex.”

“Really?” Vegeta asked evilly. “Well, why don’t we just listen and see?”

“Fine,” Goku said haughtily. He and Vegeta started to sneak closer to the house.

“Now, wait just a minute,” Gohan cautioned. “I don’t think we should be listening in on their private conversations.”

“Speak for yourself,” Krillin snapped. “I want to hear what they say.”

Gohan watched as the other three men got close enough to the house to hear what was going on inside. He shrugged his shoulders and decided to join them. After all, if Videl was talking about him, he had a right to know didn’t he?

Meanwhile, inside the women were laughing their heads off.

“What on earth did you do when he said that, Bulma?” 18 asked her eyes wide with curiosity.

Bulma smirked an evil smirk that was worthy of her husband. “I bit him, right on the tip of his...”

“BULMA!” a shocked Chi Chi interrupted. “We get the idea!”

Bulma laughed out load at her friend’s reaction. “Sorry, Chi Chi.”

“Sorry my ass,” Videl growled. “I want to know what happened!”

“Well,” Bulma said softly, her face getting flushed at the memory. “He liked it. In fact, he liked it a lot. Let’s just say that we spent the rest of the day in bed...and most of the next day too.”

“Oh, Bulma,” Videl giggled. “You are so lucky! Vegeta is one hell of a sex machine.”

Bulma rolled her eyes. “Yes, he is...but sometimes I wish...”

“What?” 18 prodded her to finish.

“Sometimes I wish he was just a little more romantic,” she sighed. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the way Vegeta makes love to me...but just once I’d like to be wined and dined instead of just sixty-nined.”

The other women cracked up at Bulma’s words. When the laughter finally subsided, Videl reached over and patted Bulma’s shoulders. “Listen, romance is great,” she said, “but what I wouldn’t give for a pure, lustful, animalistic fuck!”

“Videl!” Chi Chi scolded. “You’re language is getting as bad as Bulma’s!”

“Sorry,” she said, blushing. “It’s just that...well...Gohan is great in bed. He goes to great lengths to give me pleasure...but...”

“Come on, spit it out,” 18 ordered.

“Flowers and candy and diner and dancing...I swear, sometimes it just wears me out. I know I’m probably the only woman in the world who would complain about this, but sometimes he’s just too romantic.”

“Have you told him that?” Bulma asked.

“No, it would hurt his pride too badly,” Videl said sadly.

“Well, you can’t expect him to give you want if you don’t tell him what you need,” Bulma replied firmly.

“Well, if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black,” Chi Chi mumbled under her breath.

“What are you talking about?” Bulma asked in an annoyed voice. “I always tell Vegeta what I want him to do in bed.”

“Yes,” Chi Chi said, “but what about out of bed? Have you ever told him how much you want romance?”

“Oh, all right,” Bulma sighed in defeat, “point taken.”

“It would be nice if we could talk to our men about what’s missing in our relationships,” 18 said. “But we all know that their egos are too fragile to handle it.”

“Yeah,” Chi Chi agreed. “How ironic that they so physically strong and their egos are so weak.”

“So 18,” Bulma prodded. “Exactly what is missing from your relationship with Krillin?”

“Oh, nothing really,” she hesitated. “It’s just that sometimes I wish he had a little more fight in him. Videl may be jealous of your sex life with Vegeta, but I’m jealous of the way you two fight. Krillin just does whatever I tell him to do with no argument at all. I mean, there’ve been times when I’ve told him to do the most ridiculous things just to try to get a rise out of him. But it’s never worked. He always just does whatever I tell him. I swear, if I told him to cut off his dick, he’d probably say ‘yes, honey’ and then ask me to help him find a knife.”

The other women howled with laughter at 18’s words. “It’s not funny,” 18 growled. “I’m sorry I ever said anything.”

“I’m sorry 18,” Videl said, trying to control her laughter. “You’re right it’s not funny.”

“OK,” Bulma said once the laughter had completely died down. “It’s your turn Chi Chi.”

“My turn for what?” Chi Chi asked.

“Come one,” Videl said mischievously. “What is it about Goku that drives you insane?”

“No way,” Chi Chi replied. “I’m not participating in this madness.”

“Please, Chi Chi,” Bulma asked seriously. “It’s just us. He never has to know. If there was one thing you could change about him, what would it be?”

Chi Chi looked Bulma square in the eyes. “You have to promise not to make fun of me,” she whispered uncertainly.

“You are my best friend,” Bulma said gently. “I would never make fun of you.”

Chi Chi took a deep breath and closed her eyes. “I wish he would see me as a more than just a wife and mother. I wish he would see me as a woman.”

“What do you mean?” 18 asked in confusion.

“Goku is wonderful to me,” Chi Chi explained. “He treats me with such respect...I feel horrible saying this.”

“Go on, Chi Chi,” Bulma encouraged.

“He is so good to me...but...” she stopped for a moment, trying to find the right words. “He’s an excellent lover. He makes me feel so beautiful when he makes love to me, but sex always seems like an afterthought to him. He sees me as his wife and as a good mother to his sons, and I’m proud of that. But just once I’d like to see him look at me with lust in his eyes. He seems to think that I’m too proper or chaste to want him to see me as a sexual being. I know for a fact that he holds back sometimes when we make love because he’s afraid he’ll shock me. I’m glad that he thinks so highly of me...but I want him to let go and take me the way he needs to.”

The other women were stunned into silence. When the quietness became too awkward for her, Chi Chi stood up and walked over to the stove. “Well, we’d better get dinner started soon. Our husbands and children will be in soon and they’ll be hungry.”

Bulma stood up and placed her hands on Chi Chi’s shoulder. Chi Chi turned to look at her and was surprised at the tender expression on the other woman’s face. “It’s alright,” Chi Chi whispered to her friend. “I’m fine.”

The men stood outside the house in stunned silence. Vegeta could have kicked himself for ever suggesting they eavesdrop on their women. He had been truly shaken when Bulma admitted that there was something missing in their marriage. He could only imagine how the rest of the men felt...their wives seemed to be even more unsatisfied than Bulma.

Goku raised his eyes from the ground and looked at the proud prince. “I guess you were right after all.”

“I told you so,” Vegeta mumbled.

“Let’s go inside,” Gohan said gruffly.

“Yeah,” Krillin agreed, “before they start talking about us again.”

The men trudged silently across the yard to the house. Vegeta looked at the sour expressions on the faces around him. "What in Dende's name have I started?" he asked himself in frustration.
