G Gundam
Description: Marking the 15th anniversary of Gundam, Mobile Fighter G Gundam is the first of the alternate universe (AU) series. At the forefront of the project was Yasuhiro Imagawa (Giant Robo), who created a universe that was radically different from the original concept of Gundam wars. Rather than an all out Earth vs. Space series of battles, the conflict in G Gundam is reduced to a tournament that takes place every four years. The arena is the ravaged Earth, populated by those left behind when the colonies were launched to space. Each nation is represented by a Gundam Fighter, and at the end of the fights, the country with the last mobile suit standing becomes the head nation in council for the next four years. So far, sixty years have passed and twelve tournaments have taken place. Mobile Fighter G Gundam picks up at the start of the thirteenth tournament in the year Future Century 60... This year, things will be a little different.
