Said
to be Shohoku's ace because of his excellent talent in basketball, his
talent is very much comparable to the likes of Maki Shinichi of Kainan
and Sendoh Akira of Ryonan. Rukawa's dedication to basketball is evident
with the fact that he spends much time practicing alone. He wanted to
further improve his skills by going to America to join the NBA, but
was stopped by coach Anzai. His cold personality made him have very
little friends, but fans instead. One of them is the "Rukawa Oendan
girls".
