| The next night was the night that made history, and yet it was completely forgotten, it was the night that was eventually called the eve of screams, a night when everyone on the Moon was silenced. Serena was in her room. She once again forced herself into the corset and then slipped easily into the white ballroom gown that her mother had given her. She twirled around and put her hair in its usual pigtails. She saw that she looked ordinary with her hair like that, but she knew that it wouldn't be appropriate to go to one of her mother's affairs without it. A half an hour later, about five minutes before the party was to begin, there was a knock at Serena's bedroom door. She opened the door to find nothing and no one there, all that was there was a note at her feet. Serena picked it up and read it. The note said:
Dear Princess,
Love Always, Serena bit her lip, she could hardly hold in all of the excitement she was feeling. She immediately began running toward the balcony when she was suddenly bombarded by guests and did the best she could to carry out small conversations with each of them before dashing for the balcony. But to her great disappointment, there was no sign of Endymion. She waited for about five minutes before she felt like she wanted to cry. She put her hands on the balcony railing and stared blankly at the Earth, when she suddenly felt something on her hand. Serena looked down to see Endymion standing on the ground below the low balcony holding one of her hands and in his other hand he was holding a large red rose. "I see you got my note, princess. My God you look absolutely beautiful!" "Thank you!" Serena replied. "And aren't you just the most handsome man at the party? Shall we dance?" "Let's!" The couple danced the entire night, and Endymion turned away about a million other men who wanted to cut in on his dances with Princess Serenity. He adored her, plain and simple. Endymion wanted nothing other than to be in her sweet company. A black cloud formed over the Moon Palace, and the guards noticed it, they immediately sent soldiers to look into it, and the soldiers never returned. When the commander informed General Tinugio of the situation, he was forced to leave Queen Serenity's side. "Be careful darling." she said to him before they kissed. Those were her last words to him and their last shared moment of affection. General Tinugio unsheathed his sword and walked to the back of the palace where he saw the bodies of the missing soldiers hanging from the trees. They had been executed, that he knew. He looked up at the tree and suddenly a figure jumped out of one of the branches. "Well, hello General Tinugio, I'm sure you remember me." General Tinugio's eyes grew wide. "Toneil? What are you doing?" "Just following orders. And here hang the damned of the Imperial Moon Army, I'm sure you remember that." "It was you? You bastard! It was you that sleighed King Eternity wasn't it?" General Tinugio could feel the anger building up inside of him. "You catch on quickly don't you? Yes, of course I did. I killed them all! The ones at that camp in Sasarion, the ones in the mass grave which held King Eternity on the top of the pile, I killed that girl out in the field just outside of the camp, I even killed my wife when she wouldn't come and join the Nega Verse. But this is only the beginning, I am only paving the road for Queen Baryl, and then we will control everything!" General Tinugio was stunned at what he was hearing. Suddenly, at the snap of Toneil's fingers, more of the Nemesis soldiers jumped out of the tree. When one of them approached General Tinugio, he stabbed his sword right into the soldier's face and pulled it out again and with one swoop he was dead. "That was a big mistake. Boys, kill them all!" A flash of light, a fire, and then darkness. Back at the party, Queen Serenity felt a sudden chill and her crescent moon began to glow, and so did Serena's. The scouts that were at the party, (which was all of them except Saturn and Pluto) were shocked when the signs of their planets appeared on their foreheads. Queen Serenity saw something outside the window and then the Moon began to tremble. Darkness fell over the kingdom and it began to thunder. A woman slithered her way into the door, holding something, it was a man! But no one could make out his face. The woman dropped the man on to the floor, and then Serena shouted, "NO! UNCLE TINUGIO!" Queen Serenity ran to his side only to find that he was dead. "You are Queen Baryl," said Queen Serenity as the tears ran down her face. "You killed Robert, and Eternity. I shall have your head as my trophy for them!" "We'll see!" said Queen Baryl. The Nega Verse soldiers entered the room and began killing everything in sight. Serena ran to General Tinugio and wept bitterly over his body. Just as she looked up into Queen Baryl's face, she said to a soldier, "Kill the princess, do it now!" The soldier walked up to Serena who didn't think it was worth the struggle, he was much more powerful than she was. Just as the soldier was about to zap Serena, a figure jumped in front of her and took the blast. Sailor Mars saw her chance and blasted the soldier, killing him. Serena looked down at her rescuer and feared of what she would see. He was on his stomach and she could not see his face. She turned him over to see that it was who she thought. Serena let out a scream and began to cry again. It was James, who was barely breathing. "Serena," he whispered. "I love you, please watch out for Endymion. Love him with all of your heart." Serena put her head on James' chest and said, "Oh James, I'm so sorry! I never wanted it to end up like this, I still love you!" "I know, but I must let go. Goodbye Serena, I love you." James let out one long sigh and died in Serena's arms. She wept hard and Endymion, who had been fighting, let a tear fall and put his hands on Serena's shoulders. Queen Baryl saw Endymion and said to him, "You there, come with us. You can be the king of the Nega Verse. Please, come and join me on my throne!" "Never!" Endymion shouted. "Fine, if you won't come voluntarily, than I will force you to join us. You'll find that I can be very persuasive." Serena looked around and saw that everyone but her mother and the remaining Nega Verse soldiers had been killed, they even killed the Sailor Scouts, Serena's best friends. When she looked back at Endymion he was being swept up in a tornado that Queen Baryl had created. Serena shouted, "NO, ENDYMION! PLEASE COME BACK!" Serena jumped into the cyclone with him and Queen Baryl looked at Queen Serenity as she killed off the last of the Nega Verse soldiers. "Queen Serenity," shouted Queen Baryl. "I've taken the Sailor Scouts and I've taken your kingdom. But now I will take that which is most precious to you." Just as Serena and Endymion touched hands, a poweful blast came at them. A flash of light, a fire, and then darkness. Serena and Endymion were dead. Queen Serenity fell to her knees. Luna and Artemis, who had very little strength left, saw Queen Serenity attaching the Silver Crystal to the cresent moon wand as she murmered, "Don't worry my darling, I won't let it end this way." "Queen Serenity, don't!" Luna said. "If you use the Silver Crystal you won't have any strength left!" "I must do this Luna, for the children." Queen Serenity stood and shouted, "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" A light flashed and all of the citizens of the Moon Kingdom were sent to be reborn on Earth. Queen Serenity collapsed under the preassure of the crystal and leaned against a pillar. She looked at her daughter drift away in a bubble and stretched out her hand as if she was trying to touch her. "She will not remember me." Queen Serenity said to Luna and Artemis. "Your highness," said Artemis. "You have enough strength left to survive!" "No," Queen Serenity replied. "I will use my last bit of strength to send you two to Earth to find and train the girls again, that way the Earth will be safe. You must do this no matter what the case, do you understand?" "Yes." Luna and Artemis replied as tears strolled down their whiskers. Queen Serenity used the Silver Crystal one last time. A flash of light, a fire, and then darkness.
