Conan-kun is the child version of Shinichi Kudo. Upon stumbling across a secret organization during an investigation, he was forced to take the deadly drug APTX4869 which turned him, as he discovered, into a little kid. A body of a small child, maybe, but Conan still possesses the mind and skills of Shinichi, which are his amazing deducting and soccer skills. Conan is unmatched in that area, except maybe Heiji who, as well, has the same level of deduction as Shinichi. Conan, now as a first grader, takes back elementary school, and meets Ayumi-chan, Genta, and Mitsuhiko. Together, they form the Detective Boys, a club, which of course, involves solving cases. Conan is extremely infuriated with his going back to baby school ( as he calls it) but if he didn’t it’d look extremely suspicious. Using gadgets that the professor created for him, example: the stun-gun wrist-watch and the voice changing bow-tie, Conan helps Kogoro, his childhood crush, Ran’s drunkard father, to solve cases. It is unknown to Kogoro, of course. Like this, Conan aims to solve cases, and fork up a case involving the secret organization, hoping to get back to his eleventh-grade self and punish those ill-doers. He later meets Haibara Ai, fellow Teitan elementary school student, alias Shiho Miyano, ex-member of the secret organization. She was the maker of APTX4869, the drug, but resulting her sister’s death, which was suspected to be related to the organization, she turned against them, refusing to continue her research of APTX4869. They later imprisoned her, believing her to be a traitor, but unknown to them, Miyano escaped, taking the drug, and collapsed of fatigue in front of Shinichi’s house. Conan wants to tell Ran the truth, about the secret organization and the drug, but if he does so Ran will be targeted as a victim. He, of course, doesn’t want Ran to die terribly. That is why time after time, he has to think of a plan to stop Ran’s suspicions…don’t forget, he is a BAD singer. Totally, immensely tone-deaf.

Kudo Shinichi is the adult version of Edogawa Conan. Shinichi is seventeen, an eleventh-grader. His amazing deducting skills earned him the title “Savior of the Japanese police” and “ The Sherlock Holmes of the ‘90’s”. Shinichi is an amazing and pro soccer player, but sadly, he rejected the offer of going overseas to become an international soccer player. According to him, he didn’t want to be a pro, but he learned soccer to catch a criminal. He means this from Sherlock Holmes’s sword fighting. As you would know by now, Shinichi is a SUPER fan of Holmes. This is true: note all the Conan Doyle books Shinichi has in his library. He idolizes Holmes, and refers to anyone who can’t understand his hypothesis as Watson. ( What, you can’t remember who’s Watson? He’s Holmes’s assistant ) He often says, “Its elementary, my dear Watson” to anyone who doesn’t understand what he’s talking about. ( Mostly to Ran ) Talking about Ran, Shinichi has a crush on this classmate since childhood. Ran seems to be returning his affection too. He is extremely tone-deaf, making him the worst singer. Beware. Actually, he knows quite a lot about music ( you know, theory and blah, blah, blah…) just that he just can NOT sing. So don’t ask him to karaoke next time, Ran! He later takes APTX4869, and shrinks into Conan Edogawa. Even though he longs to tell Ran the truth that he likes her and about the secret organization, he can’t in order to protect her from being a target by the organization. Shinichi, keep up the good work!

Idol: Maeda Satoru, karate champion – warning, just an idol, NOT a crush, Sharon Vineyard and Shinichi’s mum, Yukiko
Ran is Shinichi’s childhood friend ( and crush! Crush! Don’t you DARE forget that ) and classmate. These two have known each other since…seven years old, I think. Ran’s specialty is cooking and karate. She, of course, uses karate for self-defence, but she often tends to use it for making her dad ( and Conan ) follow her orders. She usually displays it with Kogoro’s desk and the door. ( I’m still learning tae kwon do, and I’m a white belt, so I’m not at that stage yet…) She is a very disciplined young lady, and she is very brave ( unless some psycho shocks her or somewhat ) and she won’t stand nonsense from her father. She is very good in self-control. She’s strangely excellent at any game involving gambling, which includes poker, mahjong, slots, and so on. Quite the opposite of Kogoro. In volume, um, 18 or something, she mastered mahjong in one hour! She got a lot of wins, man, I’m so jealous. I’m HOPELESS in mahjong. In volume 23, she won the game aboard the Ogasawara ( refer to Chen’s site) by getting a full house. Conclusion, she’s a pro master in gambling – don’t mess with her, man! She, unlike Shinichi, hasn’t had a crush on him since childhood, and only when they went to New York last year did she realize she loved him. She misses Shinichi a lot, but she won’t admit she likes him. However, she already admitted it, unknowingly, to Conan, whom of course, is Shinichi. That happened the night she took him back to the Mouri’s Detective Agency. She asked Conan whether he had a crush. Conan, of course, blushed. Ran said, “Well, I do.” Conan asked sheepishly, “ Is the person that Shinichi-nii-chan you were looking for?” She said loudly, “That’s him. Even though Shinichi’s a hopeless deducting FOOL, I…” Conan holds his breath. “ I really like Shinichi very, very, very much!” She loves Shinichi very much, and often cries when nobody is with her. She longs for Shinichi to come back, but Conan hasn’t found a cure yet…go Conan!

Sherry, alias Shiho Miyano, is also known in her child form as Ai Haibara. She was first introduced in vol.18, where she first collapsed of fatigue in front of Shinichi's house while searching for him. She was the ex-member of the secret organization, but she refused to do more research on the drug that caused Shinichi to shrink, APTX 4869, and they, believing her to be a traitor, locked her up and she waited for the sentence for her death. She attempted suicide by takin APTX 4869 which she believed would kill her, but instead made her shrink into a little kid. She escaped the handcuffs and the secret organization, but it is unknown whether she remains unloyal to the organization or not. She can't forgive Shinichi, for she believes that he didn't try to save her sister - in vol.2 - but left her to die. She's very pretty, and her name Ai Haibara was taken from two famous detectives, believed to be Cate Martini and Codelia Grey.
