ArT
Okay, finally, after a long period of time, I got the chance to return to and fix up this section of the site. It needed it. I added some new fanart of my own and a whole bunch of photos. Don't ask me why, but I hadn't put up a lot of the great pictures Shelby took of our cosplay; this has been remedied, and I hope you'll look to find some of the pictures I felt like pointing out.

Hilary's Award Winning Drawing

At the Anime Festival Orlando quickdraw competition, Hilary took Best of Show with this drawing. Go Hilary.

'Emerge'

I don't know a whole lot of anything about this, but it's pretty.

Tokyo Babylon Fan Art

Hil has recently had this little craze for Tokyo Babylon art... I can't blame her, the series is SO cool and the characters are Clamp-tastic. (I like Clamp.)

Wings.

I did this as a commission for a friend of mine. The detail in the picture is a little off, because it's a webcam photo of a scan of the original. (Yeah... I know.)

Ali fanart.

As a general note, I did all of these using pen and grayscale Prismacolor markers.

Ed & Ein (Cowboy Bebop)

I did this one because I *love* Cowboy Bebop and drawing Cowboy Bebop fanart. It was done using a tiny reference picture I found on my DVD.

Lain (Lain)

This is the first Lain I did. I like the coloring on this one a whole lot. I used a reference picture from my DVD's.

Wired Angel (Lain)

This is a Lain that I did after I came up with a wing design during a boring class. It took forever because of the detail. I hadn't planned on using so many wires, but I thought it looked cooler that way. No reference pictures used.

Spike (Cowboy Bebop)

My dorm room needed some decoration, so I picked up some posterboard and did this in about one evening. I'm surprised it turned out so well. Two markers died during its creation. They will be missed.

Vash (Trigun)

Vash's hair takes FOREVER to do. I used another DVD picture for reference.

Wolfwood (Trigun)

Wolfie is much easier to draw than Vash, so I complicated him a bit by shading his hair with 4 different shades of gray. I used a variety of DVD and online reference pictures.

Flag Skirt

Well, obviously sewing is a hobby of ours, and Shelby in particular likes to make some cool clothes. This is an example of a skirt she made.

Flare Skirt

This is a personal favorite of mine. I think it was a pair of pants to which Shelby added a bunch of t-shirts, patches, and another pair of pants. Now it's a kickass skirt. Go Shelby.

Why I Like the Twins

This is what they usually wear; the native garb of Kawaii Gemini. Yay.

Hilary's Pants

Hilary, when she got these fabric paint marker thingies, decided to paint a pair of pants. She decided on a Vampire Hunter D theme, and used her five markers to make these pants. (I think they're really great because Hil is an amazing artist and because I could never do this with only five colors.)

Fashion Stuff

So, in addition to being artists that could kick my ass twelve times over, the twins are into fashion design and photography. Here's a picture of Hil that Shelbs took a while back when Hil still had normal hair. I'm not sure who designed the outfit... I'll ask later.

I Hate Myself

I ain't gonna explain this one.

Cosplay Pics.

Just some of Shelby's incredible photos I think you ought to look at. I put them into the closest thing to chronological order I could remember. ^^

Faye Kitty

Not the infamous "fayeass," but I love the colors and elements of this picture. Hil's hair looks really cool and I like the dynamic of her and Phoebe (the kitty).

Hyakurin Swing

I don't know. I like the soft look of the photo (more a result of scanning than anything, I think) and it's my favorite of my Hyakurin pics.

Ora Cute

I love the composition and contrast in this one. It's a really nice photo. The sharpness on the details is really cool, but I can't really pinpoint the reason I like it so much. Check it out anyway.

Seras Sling

Best Seras photo ever. It's one of the best Shel's touched up, and I wish it were possible to have a similar picture for every one of our costumes. It's a wonderful picture.

Cute Seras

This is just an ADORABLE picture. I love it. And the angle of the camera and the color in the photo just make it that much cooler.

Integra Good

Composition is fun. I just love the layout of this scene.

Integra Good 2

It's a fun picture. I have a small print of it around my room. ^^

Integra Blu

This is one of those color/perspective pictures I would never be able to take, which is one of several reasons I admire it. I also think it really captures Integra's character.

Integra Cute

For at least six months, I didn't notice that you could see Shelby's feet in the photo. It's a really eye catching pose that she put me in, and the angle is just awesome. It's my favorite Integra photo.

Julia Good

This is my favorite Julia photo. The colors are really great (though I have another version where I messed around with the hues) and it's just such a great and flattering pose that totally captures the character. It's one of my favorite pictures Shel has ever taken of me.

Chi Kneel

The colors and shadows and flowers and costume and pose just make this look like it came right out a dream or fairy tale. It's really pretty, and I wish I had a larger version to share.

Suu 2

I'm a photo composition whore, and this one just delights me so much. I love how Hil is framed between the two pillars, but the lamp and Hil's costume pull your gaze to the left two thirds of the picture, instead of focusing only on the center. The shapes are really dynamic... ooooh, it's good.

Suu 3

The sharpness of this photo is just exemplary. The contrast on Hil's wig, the green thingie, and the gold trim is just beautiful. I think it's one of the most gorgeous photos on this site.

Suu 4

Aside from composition, I'm a contrast whore, too. It's something I picked up from black and white photography and drawings. Pictures like this that manage to capture black black and white white are always noteworthy. Plus, it looks like something Clamp might have drawn, so again the photo just captures the character. I love it.

Kirika Blue

Another of the most gorgeous photos on this site. The colors blend together beautifully, the composition (gun, curb, Hil's pose, the dirt, the wall) is almost too perfect, and it captures the character really well. It's an exceptional picture.

No Brand Urd 2

There's just something about this picture I really like. It might be the sharpness, it's possibly the color, it could be the composition, maybe it's just that it's so candid... but there's no doubt it's just a really nice, interesting picture.

How I Put My Kids Through College - by Shelby An excellent comic Shelby put together while experimenting with screentone. It's really the best when you have her doing sound effects and voices while you read it, but there's only so much the internet can do. Maybe one day, she'll make an animation of this. That'd be great.
Check out Shelby's other comics and artwork.
