I’m writing this to fill in a few blanks that may have
occurred, and to answer some of the many questions and comments I’ve received about it. Plus, by putting some of the info in a little update like this, I don’t have to work it into my fic.
The flashback that Nanako walks everyone through takes place totally on earth. As you noticed, some of the senshi are royalty, some are not. I didn’t see the point of making them all royalty in
their past life. If you think about it, they’re not royalty in this life either, for they’re born to normal parents. In their past lives, some are related, some aren’t. Reincarnation is tricky like
that, you never know who or when you’ll be born.
Anyways, Haruka is not Nanako’s mother. It just so happens that her mother’s name is Haruka. I hope I didn’t confuse too many people on that point.
I didn’t introduce the Queen of the Earth because I didn’t want to go into too many character bios.
I went into such detail in the flashback to build up Nanako’s character. I thought it was necessary to allow people to get a sense of what she is like, and to inform everyone what happened back then
to get them into the situation they’re in now. I am a little disappointed that some didn’t like it, but I am writing a story here, and character building is an important aspect to it.
As for the Ancient Crystal, it was supposed to be created at the beginning, you know... the “Big Bang”. It was created from that energy. It basically floated around for a few billion years, and then it developed a consciousness. It then traveled the universe to locate other intelligence. It eventually happened across earth when it was beginning to develop life, and decided to guard over the beings there. As it grew stronger, it needed to bond or join with
two other beings to be able to use it’s powers with causing destruction, and to keep the chances of someone using it as a weapon. Humans were the obvious choice here. As they expanded through our solar system, the Ancient Crystal created “offspring” for the other planets to use to guard themselves. The Imperial Silver Crystal, and Earth’s Golden Crystal were two of them. As time passed, the crystals got spread throughout the universe, and some were
transformed to provide the power to create the Sailor Senshi.
I thought that this would be a great explanation about how all this came about, because I didn’t think it was ever explained well. So this means that given much more time, even the silver crystal would develop a consciousness. This concept will become important later on, so please don’t forget it. Sorry if anyone
doesn’t like it, but it is my fanfic.
My inspirations came from my own interests. I love Mid-Eastern and Asian cultures, and that’s were the clothing came from. Nature is very important to me, so I try to portray the beauty in it, and the importance of protecting it. Finally, blue is my
favorite color, so her tattoos and clothing are blue.
Don’t forget,many characters in anime and cartoons do bond/join/transform with an object, often gems and crystals to become more powerful. Many do change their appearance, and most get markings. So I combined a lot of my favorite parts of animes and created Nanako.
