11/11/02~ ADV confirms that Anime cable channel is in the works! According to a press release from AD Vision, ADV is completing efforts on the creation of
The Anime Network™, the first television channel in North America dedicated to anime (Japanese animation) and anime-related content. The Anime Network™ targets
the nation's estimated 85 million cable television subscribers, and seeks to capitalize on cable's increasing dominance in the world of at-home entertainment.
According to the press release, The Anime Network™ model is structured around four categorized content areas: Action Zone, Sci-Fi, Comedy Incorrect, and
Horror/Martial Arts. These categories are designed to include virtually the entire spectrum of quality anime, while contextualizing content for new
viewers unfamiliar with specific titles. More details to come when available!
Unfortunately, for those of us who have satellite tv, this doesn't help. My suggestion is to call your satellite company and bug the hell out of them until they give you that channel. I know I'll be doing the same..........
