News from May 2005

5/12/05~ Well, it's been another big gap with no news. I mean, things have been happening, but nothing I've considered important enough to bother posting. In web-mistress news, I fell in love with the j-rock band Siam Shade, but was hopelessly crushed when research revealed they broke up in March, 2002. I guess that means I'll never get to see them play at Otakon. :(

The Cartoon Network has announced that starting on May 28th, the Saturday night lineup for Adult Swim will be 100% anime. New episodes of Inuyasha will lead off the block at 11 pm (ET, PT), followed by new episodes of the hip new series Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent and s-CRY-ed. Perennial favorites FLCL and Trigun take over at 1am (ET, PT), while Lupin III and Case Closed are on the dawn patrol at 5am and 5:30am respectively. With the anime-dominated Toonami block serving as the lead-in to Adult Swim on Saturday nights, the final day of the week will feature the heaviest concentration of anime titles in the recent history of the Cartoon Network.
While the overall ratings for the Cartoon Network have been up, the anime heavy Saturday night schedule has been doing particularly well. Prior to Futurama's departure from the Saturday night Adult Swim lineup on the 28th, the Saturday Adult Swim schedule will include the anime feature film Metropolis on May 14th (along with the debut of Shinichiro Watanabe's Samurai Champloo); and the premiere of the first Inuyasha movie, Inuyasha: Affections Touching Across Time on May 21st.
