5/22/03~ Viz Gets Rights To Rurouni Kenshin Manga! Viz has acquired the rights to Nobuhiro Watsuki's samurai manga series Watsuki's manga, which started running in the Japanese Shonen Jump Magazine in 1994. The official statement announces that Rurouni Kenshin will make an appearance in Shonen Jump USA Issue 7, but regular serialization in the magazine has not yet been confirmed.

Toonami gets new title! - Cartoon Network has scheduled the anime series Kikaider to begin showing in June as part of the Adult Swim block (at midnight). Fourteen episodes are scheduled for showing that month, and the DVD release will begin in August after months of delays.

Shaman King, the spiritual-fighting story of a boy named Yoh and his quest to become the shaman king, has been licensed by 4-Kids and will air on the FOX Box starting this September. So far 26 episodes are planned to air; there is no word yet on a home video release, or if the rest of the series will be translated (Shaman King is 64 episodes long). Shaman King features great character designs, and an interesting blend of philosophy, humor, and fighting, so definitely check it out!

AD Vision has announced several new licenses at last weekend's Anime Boston convention, including Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Azumanga Daioh, Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai, and the "director's cut" Evangelion TV episodes 21-24. The Director's Cut Evangelion TV episodes will be released on 2 DVDs, each disc containing the original TV version and extended home video version of the episodes.

Sailor Moon TV to Be Released Uncut! - ADV Films is set to release the uncut first season of the classic anime series Sailor Moon on July 15, 2003. This DVD-only release includes all 46 episodes on eight disks. Each episode will be presented in the original Japanese with English subtitles. The new ADV collection will have an age rating of 15+, which should provide some indication of the amount of censorship in the Americanized version of Sailor Moon, which original U.S. rights holder DIC chopped for U.S. TV audiences.
