6/26/02~ Viz has released the details for seven new series that will be starting this summer! A couple Right Stuf Staff favorites are in the mix - "Boys Over
Flowers" (AKA Hana Yori Dango.) and "Basara"! Plus you'll be able to get the mangas for Excel Saga, Flame of Recca, Project Arms, Tuxedo Gin, and of course
Wedding Peach!
 
Dark Horse and Digital Manga have teamed up to announce three big-name manga titles! Starting in November is The Ring, based on the Japanese horror
novels that sparked movies in both Japan and the US. Also in November, the Trigun manga will be released (more Vash is always good!); and last but not least, the Hellsing manga will go up for sale in December. More info as soon as we get it!
 
Rumors have been floating around for years, but now the wait is finally over! Viz has announced that the Rurouni Kenshin manga will begin printing in Shonen Jump this November. There's no announcement yet on graphic novel releases, but we'll be sure to post more the minute Viz lets us know. Time to celebrate, Kenshin fans, we're that much closer to having the Jinchuu arc in the US!
 
 
6/03/03~ You're not gonna believe this one, guys... ADV has just issued a press release saying they have the rights to create a live-action theatrical movie
based on one of the best selling anime titles of all time, Neon Genesis Evangelion!
 
It will be a collaboration between ADV Films, Gainax, and Weta Workshop Ltd. (the company that did the special effects for the Lord of the Rings movies).
At this time, the movie is said to be in the earliest stages of development,though its timetable is "an aggressive one". Nothing further is available yet on
who will play the starring roles, or when the film will see release, though more information is certainly forthcoming.
 
The good folks over at Nausicaa.net have discovered that Disney is currently dubbing another Miyazaki film: Porco Rosso. Early speculation says that this
latest DVD is scheduled for a release in the holiday season of this year, but all other release details are still up in the air. Now we're that much closer to having all of Miyazaki's works in R1!
 
Never ones to let our wallets rest, Pioneer and Bandai have announced their newest batch of release dates including the reschedule of Infinite Ryvius DVD,
Sakura Wars: The Movie DVD, and Witch Hunter Robin DVD! Plus they're bringing out a new batch of audio Soundtracks including Sakura Wars: the Movie, Ai Yori
Aoshi, Chobits and Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful.
