Goku is the son of Bardok and he is one the strongest fighters in the universe. He is 1 of the 2 remaining full blood Saiyans. He is from the planet Vegeta and was sent to Earth to destroy it. He failed to carry out his mission because of a mind- rupturing accident in which he fell and hit his head on a rock. From then on he had remembered nothing about his past and was raised under the care of Gohan. With the Saiyan blood in him he is able to become stronger after every fight and he was able to transform into a giant ape until his tail was removed for good. Goku was trained by the Turtle Hermit, Master Roshi, and after the first time he died he was then trained by the great King Kai. He has a wife named Chi-Chi and two sons, one he named after his grandfather Gohan, and another named Goten.

GOHAN

Gohan is the first son of Goku and Chi-Chi and he is half saiyan-half human. Gohan was trained by Piccolo and then trained by his father. Since Gohan has a trace of Saiyan blood in him, his power also increases after every battle and he was able to turn into a giant ape until his tail was removed. Chi-Chi is very protective of Gohan and she wants him to be a great scholar rather than fight. At the time Gohan was the youngest Saiyan to turn into a Super Saiyan. Gohan still remains the strongest in the universe.

GOTEN

Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi Chi. He is the second youngest Saiyan to turn into a Super Saiyan. Goten is the second place winner of the youth tournament. Goten was trained by Chi Chi and then by his big brother Gohan. During the Buu saga Goten is able to fuse with Trunks and become Gotenks

VEGETA

Vegeta is the son of King Vegeta. In the beginning of DBZ, Vegeta is an evil saiyan who first met with Goku when he came to conqueror earth. After beaten badly by Goku, he leaves earth and the next time he appears is during the Frieza saga, where he fights along side with Gohan and Krillin. At this point he is a little friendlier but not much. Vegeta is the second Saiyan to turn Super Saiyan. Vegeta is always determined that he can defeat someone even if he can’t because he refuses to believe that he is not the strongest.

TRUNKS

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma and he is half saiyan-half human. Trunks first showed up in the Frieza Bot saga and killed Frieza Bot and King Cold. Of course it was future Trunks that defeated them. Goku was the only Z Fighter to find out the identity of Trunks and the rest of the Z Fighters find out when Trunks is already born into the world. After defeating Frieza, Trunks goes back into the future, but later comes back during the fight with Dr. Gero. In Trunk’s world he is the only Z Fighter left and he has no hope of defeating 17 and 18. During the Cell games Trunks is killed and after Cell is defeated trunks is wished back. He goes back to the future and since he is much stronger he defeats 17, 18, and imperfect Cell. Little Trunks was the youngest Super Saiyan ever and he also the champion of the youth tournament.

PICCOLO

Piccolo is originally Kame and he came to earth as a young boy. Kame is a Namek who became the guardian of the earth and later split into two different bodies, Kame and Piccolo. Piccolo was the evil one who wanted to take over the world. Piccolo started out as Goku’s enemy, but then turns good to help Goku defeat Raditz. Gohan looks up to Piccolo very much and Piccolo died while protecting Gohan from a energy blast. He was then wished back to Namek, where he fused with Nail and took on Frieza, only to be badly beaten.

KRILLIN

Krillin was first introduced in Dragonball and he becomes Goku’s best friend. Even though he is older he is still weaker than him. He was also trained by Master Roshi. Krillin died while facing Frieza and was wished back at the end of the saga. He marries 18 and has a daughter named Marrin. Being weak he usually is afraid of the enemy and does not want to fight, but his Desructo Disc comes in handy sometimes.

YAMCHA

Yamcha was first introduced as a desert bandit in Dragonball with his friend Puar and he later became friends with Goku. Yamcha was one of the weaker fighters but he does not fight anymore. He started going out with Bulma and they later broke up during Dragonball Z. He died while fighting Vegeta and Napa and he was later wished back after Frieza was defeated.

TIEN

Tien is a three eyed human who is was first introduced in Dragonball during a tournament. He is a fairly strong fighter and he also did a number on Cell’s second form with his tri attack. He also died during the fight with Napa and Vegeta and was wished back after Frieza was defeated. He is best friends with Chiaotzu and he often trains with him.

CHIAOTZU

Chiaotzu was introduced in Dragonball and he is Tien’s best friend. Chiaotzu is probably the weakest Z Fighter even though he tries. Tien is very protective of him and he will not let him fight someone more powerful then him. Chiaotzu died blowing himself up while trying to take Napa with him, which did not work very well.
