Caught in the low caste of centaur life upon the Moonshaes meant you were born a woman. Women were born to breed and serve the men. Uppity females who chose not to mate were banished. Banishment was a life outside of the Isles, never allowed to return. However, Triana Daemelar was not so lucky to be just banished.
She'd caught the eye of the council elder's son, Sean. And Sean wanted to possess her wholly. His efforts were scorned and his brutality was met with further defiance. She escaped his grasp and fled into the forests where the Druids of the Earthmother tended her wounds and taught her herbalism and aromatherapy. With them she learned to be a skilled healer and apothecary. Through them she became a Cleric of the Earthmother.
But life in the forests was short lived when Sean found her, and the Druids could do nothing to protect her. He dragged her before the council and demanded that she be given to him as a slave. Not a centaur born could lower themselves to serve as a slave and Triana begged for banishment. Banishment came at a high price for her. Made outcaste she was cursed to walk upon Silver hooves until the day she found a mate who could love her for the wandering woman she'd become.
Auburn head held high the chestnut beauty walked painfully away from the council and Sean, whom she named Donas. Grass green eyes shed no tears as she walked away from the life she'd known and boarded a ship bound for the mainland.

Years down the road, her youth barely behind her, she came across the land of Rhy'Din and the city of RoseHaven. It was shortly after her arrival she found herself face to face with another centaur, a male, and the curse upon her made itself known, for to him she was subservient. He found ways to talk to her without the curse interfering and over a matter of weeks she found that the centaur was melting the walls she'd placed around her heart, showing her that love was possible and not a thing of fairy tales. In turn he had gifted to her his love and devotion and the day she came to him upon her own mother-of-pearl hooves and looked into his eyes was a day of triumph for both.
However, life was far from easy for the pair. His chosen one refused to meet her and in the end Triana begged him to think twice before taking a bonded mate that he would rarely see. The reward she got was to hear of the disagreement and to find herself higher in his eyes than she had been nights before. No one seemed to understand that she hardly wanted the rank of First Wife, she but wanted Senn's love.
Not even a small hint of joy could be without sorrow. Shortly after the contest of words between Senn and Ceres, Ceres was killed. It took Triana weeks to convince Senn that it was not through a fault of his that the centauress was killed; and during that time the pair discovered what perfect love, perfect trust and utter devotion really was.

Senn took Triana as his First Wife when his grief for Ceres ran it's course.
Both centaurs had a running desire for children, but it came as a surprise when Triana became pregnant. The two looked upon Aseliv, their son, as a gift from Emmela, as Triana was out of season.
While she carried Aseliv, Triana found that she'd been tracked to her new home when she was taken captive by Donas. Fleeing him one night she returned to her mate's side and Senn was furious. Helping his mate past her fears he found a way to be rid of Donas once and for all and with a little help from friends, he was taken from Triana's life.
Senn and Triana live in harmony in the Western Woods with their son - who is a perfect blend of sire a dam; and their daughter - a carbon copy of herself. Recently, a Second has been added to the centaur household and Tyleesa's presence has brought a new air of peace to the world they live in.
The Western Woods is closed and unknown but to a precious few trusted friends, and the centaurs know that those few people would never let that secret go.
