As the space shuttle Columbia was decending down towards earth Saturday morning, it lost contact with Mission Control. This was normally a thing that would happen and would sometimes be expected. They never thought that communication break would have been the last words of the STS-107 crew.

17 years ago when the space shuttle challenger went up to space it exploded upon lift off. The Columbia is the second space craft to explode during a mission.

Details are still being released. My prays go out to the families of the crew of STS-107.
