She always came home scared. The home was considered hell by many but it was worse for her. Ren'ee is a troubled teen that is abused in many ways by her peers and her stepfather Matthew. One day it became to much for her. It happened on a school day during lunch...(end of intro)

"You're a dumbass!" Clarky yelled at Ren'ee. She ignored him because she was not in the mood. "Fuck you and your whole dumbass family!" he screams in her face. Ren'ee got up from her chair and slapped him. Tears started to form in her eyes as she ran to the locker room. There she bawled her eyes out. Then, a familar person followed by a teacher came into the locker room ans walked up to her. "What do you want?" Ren'ee asks sarcastically. "Ren'ee, I'm here to help you. Your friend is worried about you," Ms. Mack said to the trouble girl. Emmy, her best friend, sits beside her. "I don't want to see you suffer any more pain Ren'ee," Emmy said. Ren'ee just brushed her off like she didn't hear her. Ms. Mack and Emmy sighed and they leave the locker room. After they left Ren'ee says to herself, " They want me to have no more pain? It'll take a miracle for that to happen," and with that she left the locker to go to her next class.

A couple of weeks later Ren'ee and Emmy are on a bus ride to a theme park. Emmy sits by her mother and Ren'ee sits by a friend of hers from the band by the name of Mike Alan Brown. About 15 minutes into the ride Ren'ee falls asleep. Mike turns to Emmy and he asks her a question. "What's Ren'ee story? She acts so different from everyone else," Mike asks with concern in his voice. "Ren'ee's a victim of abuse and rejection," Emmy whispers so she dosen't wake Ren'ee "she's so afraid of everyone other than her few friends that she nevers gets any guys." Mike looks upon her with caring eyes. "I know how you feel and I will help you though anything because deep down I like you," he says to himself. Ren'ee turns while she's still asleep and her head rests her head on Mike's shoulder. He looks at her and smiles. Everything goes well for the rest of the ride. When the bus stops at the theme park entrance, Mike gently pulls on Ren'ee arm to wake her up. She wakes up and sees Mike holding out a hand to help her up. Ren'ee ignores the help and they climb out of the bus. They meet up with the head teacher to find out what group they are in. Ren'ee is in Mike's group along with Emmy and her mom. Emmy got a bright idea. "Hey mom, I think we should split up. I don't think that Mike and Ren'ee wanna hang with a mom, no offense." Her mom agrees with her and they walk off. Ren'ee has a pissed off look on her face while Mike was in a daze. Ren'ee stood there with her Grateful Dead T-shirt on with her girly baggy pants, bucket hat, glasses and a ball chain necklace on. Mike has a plain hunter green shirt on with khaki shorts, Oakley sunglasses and his hair spiked up. "So what do you suppose we do?" Ren'ee asks Mike. "I'm hungry let's go eat," he says with a big smile on his face. Ren'ee rolls her eyes then they walk to the nearest resturant.

They order their food and sit down. While they were eating Mike notices something on Ren'ee's arm. "Where ya get that big scar?" he asks. Ren'ee pulls her arm back," Um...stepdad got mad at me..." "Must suck living with him huh?" "Yeah." Mike sees her scared look on her face because of bringing up her stepdad. He moves to sit by her. "Hey I won't let no one hurt you and I think it's mean to hurt someone so nice," Mike says then smiles. Ren'ee smiles, just figuring out that someone cares about her. He puts his arms around her and hugs her. After they ate, Mike and Ren'ee walks to the water park. They go in the seperate dressing rooms to change into their bathing suits. When they walk out, Mike's eyes bug out. "Oh my god, that's a helluva scar on you're back!" "Yeah, it's another one from him," Ren'ee says. They enjoy the park for about 2 hours, going on water rides togethor and shooting water at the little kids. After a while get bored with the water park so they change and go back to the bus.

On the bus,Ren'ee shows Mike her poems and Mike shows her his drawings. About an hour later, the rest of the kids came on the bus. Emmy greets them as she sits back her seat. "Have fun?" she says while smirking. "Yeah we did," Mike answers back. The ride back on the bus the kids in the back get rowdy so they play Truth or Dare. Ren'ee, Mike, and Emmy watches as their fellow peers do some questionable things. They finally arrive at the school where the bus drops them off. Ren'ee sees her stepdad and starts to shake in fear. Mike puts his arm around her and whispers, "You can come with me and stay. No one will hurt you there." Ren'ee smiles as Mike walks her to his mom's car. His mom sees her and gives a look at Mike. Mike gives a -let her stay,she's afraid of going home-look and she dosen't say anything. They all ride to the house and Mike helps Ren'ee climb out of the car and into the house. They sit on the couch as Mike's mom goes to her room for the night. "You can sleep here and I'll stay with you till you fall asleep,ok?" Mike says. Ren'ee lays on Mike's side and rests her head on his chest. She dozes off, feeling safe. Mike puts his arms around her and holds her while falls asleep. They both peacefully sleep.
