Written, Drawn, and inked by Shen C. Travis, origonal story by L. Frank Baum

So when my boyfriend was still my best friend and dating a girlfriend of mine, we went to go see this play she was in, "The wizard Of Oz". She played a munchkin, an apple tree, and a flying monkey. During the intermission, Matt, Ben, and I started goofing around with some really dumb ideas about what this play needs (like robots). After a while, the concept for the Otaku Wizard of Oz was spawned.
I realize that my artwork, handwriting, spelling and grammar are awful, but after a while I just really wanted to finish it. I didn't have alot of time left before Otakon in Maryland, the convention I wanted to sell it at.
It sold for $100 at Otakon but no one ever came to claim it so they sent it back. At Anime Iowa the next year it got no bids. This year, I'm just going to display it. After three years, I've grown rather attatched to it.
After inking it I just made copies so what you're reading is a copy. The origonal is still in black and white in a folder somewhere. I was going to colour the whole thing again and sell it the next year, but nothing could replace this coloured version, it's carved a little niche in my heart!
Special thanks to Matt and Ben, who are so inspiring, Theresa, who spawned the whole thing by inviting us to her play, and to Julia, who allways made sure I was working on it. And crayola coloured pencils. God bless you, Crayola. Also thanks for those who helped me colour when I was REALLY running out of time!
Eileen (who filled in the word bubbles which really irritated me)
Elaine (who coloured the puppies so that I didn't have to!)
Katie (Who would start a page and not finish it, thus forcing me to, and so the comic got done faster)
Jane (Who did one page but she did an AWESOME job!)
Jeffrey (An aspiring artist himself)
Michelle (Who allways had to be doing something with her hands)
If you've read this and not my manga, I recommend you go do that now, so that you can see that I DO have some talent.
By the way, my little side notes- the note comes AFTER the intended page, not before.
