Prologue:
The First Life

The morning that I woke up on was like any other. Only today it was cloudy, and rain was pouring down in sheets. It was Saturday. Today I was going to go to Kevin and Danny's house. I had been going to walk but… Suddenly a thought entered my mind, 'I can ride my bike! I can't believe I never thought of that!' So, I went into the sunroom, and told my dad where I was going.
His response to that was, "Don't forget to were a coat!"
"O.K., I will."
"Sarcasm won't help to get you out of it."
"Fine! I'll were it!" I was reacting like a child.
"Kira… Just do it!"
"O.K.…"
"Thank you."
I went and got my coat. It was green and black. I didn't remember ever having a coat with so many pockets! Than I went out side and mounted my bike.

-.- ^-* (:

With in ten minuets I was at their front door. But, I was feeling like I was being watched. I spun around, and saw…a boy with a yellow and white laptop, sitting under an umbrella. 'Damn!!' I thought. See I had had a feeling that he would show up. I was not surprised when a boy about my age with messy blonde hair and a boy with big brown hair that had a pair of goggles in it went running over to the guy with the computer. The boy at the laptop had reddish-brown hair. That's when I decided to ring the bell.
Ding-dong-da-de-do.
"Come on." I muttered.
Kevin opened the door. Danny was right behind him.
"Come in."
"Thanks." I said. I leaned my bike on the cement under the over hang. Then I entered the warm house. I shed my coat and asked in a stern voice, "Where is your computer? It's very important."
"Over here." Danny said.
"Can you boot it up? And do it quickly?"
"Yeah. Sure." Danny reached over and hit the 'on' switch.
"Thanks. Kevin?"
"What?"
"Could you please look out the window, and see if there are three boys across the street?"
"O.K." Kevin walked over to the window.
"So?" I asked. I guess that I sounded a little frightened. I was.
"Sure are. One has brown hair, one has reddish hair, and one has blonde hair."
I said a word that neither of them thought I knew.
After they got over the shock, Danny said that the computer was loaded.
"O.K. But, before I get on I must tell you something that I had hoped to avoid telling you, or any one for that matter." I sighed, "I shall begin, but promise me that you will never say one word of what I am about to say out loud. Actually I will give you the gift of mind link. You must promise that you will only talk about this in the mind link, if you say one word of it out loud than there is no hope of me ever returning. Or of you living, for no one must ever here this." Right at the moment I spread my hands wide lightning flashed, then Kevin and Danny received the power of mind link.
"Try it out before I tell the story. Hurry!! There is not much time!!"
< Danny? Can you hear me? >
< Yes I can. >
"It worked!! God, that was just so cool!!"
"Good, I'm glad, now will you shut up so I can tell you what I have to say?!" They did. I had not meant to be so hard, but time was running out. I sighed, "Well, here goes. This is the summery of my story (it would be to risky if I told the whole story). Once long ago I was a mystical being, and I was able to transform into seven different people. The people were; the girl you know as Kira; a digidestend known as Alana; a Gundum Pilot known as Alaneia; and the sailor scout named Alania."
"What about the other three?" Kevin questioned aloud.
"I can not tell you the others. For if I do both of you and I shall surly die..."
"Oookaayy…."
I walked over and sat down at the computer. Then I went to a cretin document that hadn't been there before. I double clicked on it and an image appeared on the screen. The image was of a boy's face. He had black eyes with no pupil that the eye could detect. He also had frizzy reddish-brown hair. The color of his shirt was orange. Kneeling behind him were two other people but they were hidden in the shadow of the umbrella.
"Who is that?" Asked Danny.
I didn't answer him. Instead I said, "Izzy, why have you come? And with Matt and Tai as well?"
"Hah! I thought you would know that at least!" Izzy was mocking me.
"Answer me!!" My voice was filled with anger and rage such as neither Kevin or Danny had ever seen.
"Why not come over here and ask?" A voice filled with mockery asked.
Now it was my turn to laugh, "Yeah right Tai. I would rather keep this life and my friends than relive my own death."
"So you saw right through this trap but, this is why Matt came."
Suddenly instead of Tai or Izzy seated at the computer, there was a blonde haired boy with eyes filled with sadness. I turned my face away. 'No. I will not go to him. I live here, in this world. I don't love him, I love Justin…or do I? Yes I do. I love Justin, with all of my heart.' I turned my head back toward the screen. My face showed no emotion at all. The only thing that showed was the mask that I had kept hidden for so long. The mask that had all of my feelings behind it.
"I am no longer the one you love. Matt, I love Justin. I love him with all my heart…" Instead of falling, Matt's face was in a giant smile. "What the…?"
"YES!! We got her!!" I could hear Tai in the back round yelling the phrase over and over.
"What do you mean 'got me'?"
Izzy sat down in front of the computer screen, "Well…what Tai means is for us to take you back to the digital world, you had to say that you loved a guy with all your heart. And the love had to be true."
Tai shoved Izzy aside and took over from there, "And this love was pretty true!" He had said it a singsong voice, and that made me pretty mad. But what really got to me was that I hadn't seen the trap coming at all.
"So now what will happen to you, Kira?" Kevin asked.
I jumped at the sound of his voice. I had completely forgotten that Kevin and Danny were there. I stood up and faced them. My mask had long since worn off.
"I have to go to the Digiworld. That means I must leave…" I looked up my face was stained with tears.
"Hay!! Why not--" Danny cut his sentence short and nodded at the computer. I shut it down. Danny started up again, "Why not try to escape by riding your bike really fast!!"
"Hay, that's a good idea. It just might work!! And after you loose them come back to our house!!" Kevin exclaimed.
What I did next surprised both them and I. I wiped the tears from my eyes and kissed them both on the cheek. I backed away, surprised by my own boldness, "I'll do that!"
As I raced to the door I yelled, "I'm not going to take my coat! It'll make the load to heavy and I won't be able to go as fast!!"
They both chimed in on an 'O.K.'
I ran out side and jumped on my bike and peddled as fast as I could. As I did so I could hear them yelling at me, and at Izzy for not being able to put his computer away fast enough. When he did get it put away they chased me. Matt was the fastest, and soon gained some distance between us.

-;- -.* *.*

After a half an hour I lost them. I doubled back and went to Danny and Kevin's house. After reparking my bike I knocked on the door. Danny answered it this time. When he saw me he grinned.
"We thought that they caught you…" I looked at him strangely. "Oh. Come on in."
"I hid my bike so they can't see it if they come back."
While Kevin was pouring me some ice water Danny was asking me, "What happened?"
"Nothing, really…"
Kevin set the glass down on the smooth surface of the wooden table. I picked up the glass and drank deeply. The fast escape on my bike had worn me out.
"Well, were sure gla~" Danny's sentence was cut short by a loud knock on the wood frame of the door.
"Go downstairs and hide!" Danny whispered urgently.
I nodded. As I ran down the steps I was thinking of where to hide. Another knock, this one seemed like the person out side was annoyed. Another. Under the couch! I ran over to it and crouched down. Then with some difficulty, slid under. Just barley enough room for me to fit! When I was under, I heard the door open… Than I heard someone being slammed against the wall. Who was it?
"Where is she?!" Oh man. It was Tai. I could hear the conversation all the way down here. And Tai sounded pretty mad. So, I listened.
"Tai, just because her bike is here doesn't mean she is." Matt seemed to be the only sensible one here.
"Fine. But were going to search your house, whether you like it or not. Matt, you take the basement. Izzy, you take up stairs. And I'll take this floor." Tai must have shot Kevin and Danny a nasty look, because he said to them, "You two stay here, or else…" He let the sentence hang.
I imagined Danny shrugging while he said, "Whatever."
As I had guessed, Matt was trying to come down the stairs with out making a sound. No dice. And as I had feared, he was the one chosen to search the basement. The reason that I feared him was because Matt had this weird ability to sense my presence. 'I wonder if he still possesses that ability. And if it still works?'
Suddenly the lights came on in a brilliant display. I shut my eyes and hoped that he wouldn't sense me. Than I reopened my eyes. I saw Matt pretending to look around for me. Then he looked right at me. 'Oh. No.' He had sensed me. Than something weird happened.
He smiled at me than spoke, "She's not down here Tai!" Than he looked at me and said, "See ya later. Love ya."
"Thank you Matt."
He smiled, turned and went up the stairs turning the lights off on the way. 'Oh Matt. Thank you for not telling them.'
I heard Izzy yell, "Tai, she's not up here!"
"She's not here either! She must have tricked us! Those two kids weren't lying."
A few minuets later I heard the door slam shut. I waited.
"O.K.! They are gone!" Kevin yelled.
I sighed. Well it was now tied 1 to 1. Now I knew that they would come back…

(; '.' $.$

The next morning I awoke to find that I was on the couch in Kevin and Danny's house. I sat up very quickly. Big mistake. My head began to spin and hurt. I lay back down and counted to ten. One…two…three…four…than I sat up. This time slower. When I was up I glanced around. No one was in the basement with me. Then I stood up and went up stairs. Obviously last night when I got tired I had come back down here. When I got up stairs, I saw Kevin and Danny. Their faces had a whitish tint to them.
"What's wrong?" I asked, confused.
"What?" Danny blinked than came out of his trance.
"What's wrong? You two looked like ghosts."
"Well…we were just remembering last night…"
Suddenly someone knocked on the door. This time I didn't go and hide. In stead I was the one who opened the door. Then I regretted it. See, I had thought it had been my parents. But it wasn't. It was the three digidestend from the day before.
"Good God!! Don't you guys ever give up?!"
Tai pretended to think, than said, "No."
"So. I'm guessing that you still want to take me back to the digital world?"
A big smile crossed Tai's face, "Yup!"
"You. Jerk." I whispered, "Why do you want me to go back?"
"Because there have been problems in the Digiworld ever since you left." Matt said, stepping forward.
"You." I said turning toward Matt, "I thought I could trust you. Believe it or not, I'll get you for this."
"Wha? Wait. Wait just one minute! I didn't do anything! Izzy was the one who first found you!"
I folded my arms while thinking, 'Can I trust him? After all, he is the one who has the power to sense me. Not Izzy…' To them I said, "Then leave me alone! Go away!!"
Izzy shook his head, "Sorry, we can't do that…we have no choice but to take you back…"
"No! I'm not going back!!"
"Please. For me?" Tai batted his brown eyes. Matt put his head in his hand and shook it, like he had a headache. I gave Tai a dirty look, than slammed the door on his face.
"Hay!! That was rude!" Came a muffled voice.
I turned and faced the door, "Tai, SHUT UP!! I'm not going back!! So, leave!!"
"Tai, Alan--I mean Kira, lets talk this out, O.K.?" Matt was trying to be reasonable.
"Fine! But I'm not going back!"
"Can we come in then?" Matt, obviously…
I swung the door open, turned and walked into the kitchen.
"What do you want to talk about?"
Izzy walked over to the kitchen table and started unloading his computer. Then, when it was set up, he booted it. I eyed it suspiciously.
Izzy must have seen me eyeing it. Because he said, "Oh. This is not to take you back to the Digiworld." He smiled at me. That smile braing back some horrible memories. Then his face turned dark, and he added, "Yet."
We sat down around the table. Matt was on the right of me. Tai was next to Matt. And across from me. Izzy was on my left. Kevin and Danny were standing behind me. I guessed that they were there incase anyone tried to hurt me. I highly doubted it though.
I repeated my question, "What do you want to talk about?"
"Well…" Matt's voice trailed off.
I was getting impatient, "Well?"
"O.K." Matt took a deep breath than began, "When you left the Digiworld we seemed to fall apart. Horkamon left the group. We never saw her again." Matt stopped. Looking at me, he was probley asking himself if I was all right. I could easily answer that. No, I was not all right. It took all of my energy to keep from crying. So, I nodded for him to continue. He did, "That's when Sora and Biyomon also, left." I glanced over at Tai. A tear was running down his cheek. He wiped it off. Matt looked over also, than continued, "Then Mimi and Palmon left. Joe and Gommomon left the group. Joe saying that his allergies were acting up and he needed some time alone. We never saw them again either. Last to go were T~" Matt looked down than continued in a whisper, "Last to go were T.K., Patomon, Kari and Gatomon."
Tai took over from there, "The only ones left were us. Matt, Gabumon, Izzy, Tentemon, Augumon and me."
"Yeah. And then the six of us searched for the others but, we never found them. Not even my laptop could detect them. Or their digivices." Izzy explained. "We feared them to be dead."
"So…this means what?"
"Well, after we found out that you had been reborn, we had hoped to find you. To take you back. And by taking you back we hoped that the time line would start over."
"And, I care why?"
"What?! You're telling us that you don't give a darn about what the hell happens to us?!" Tai had lost it. He was wakked. He had gone insane.
I nodded, "Exactly."
I stood up and walked over to a window.
"O.K. Let me get this straight." Tai was talking in a low silky voice. He seemed to use it alot when he got mad (either that or he yelled his his head off…). "You don't care what happens to us in the Digiworld. Or what happens to us in the real world. Am I correct?" All the traces of the child like humor had left his voice.
I turned away from the window. Unlike yesterday today it was sunny and clear. All the traces of the storm were gone. "Yeah Tai. You are correct. I don't care what happens to you."
"But…why? Why don't you care? Why not go back, than come back here, to this world?"
"Kevin…" I sighed and turned to face him, "Kevin. If it were that simple I would go, but I can't. Because it's not that simple. I wish it was but…it's not." With that I turned my back to them and said, "I need time alone to think." Then I slid the glass door open and went out side. I walked over to a bench and sat down. 'What am I gonna do? I can't go back. I have a life here. And I won't go through all seven pains I have already been through. No! I won't go back!!'

Meanwhile:

"Lord Mc Callester. The three digidestend have gone to the real world to bring back a rumored ninth digidestend."
Whoosh.
Whoosh.
Whoosh.
The Digimon Lord swung a tag and crest back and forth.
Whoosh.
"Lord?" The digimon spoke.
Plunk.
The Digimon Lord dropped the tag and crest into his hand. His gloved, human hand. The glove was an army brown.
"Fine. Two years from when they reenter the digital world we will capture them."
"Two years? But, my Lord~"
"YOU DARE DEIFY ME?!" The Digimon Lord roared, "Shantamon, answer my question!"
"No! Lord, I don't wish to deify you! That is a good idea!" The digimon squealed. Then he added, "But why two years?"
"Because I can not mess with the time line. That is more Pluto's thing…" The Digimon Lord ventured off into his thoughts.
"Pluto, ma' lord?" Shantamon questioned.
"Huh?" The Digital Lord snapped back to reality.
"Who is Pluto?"
The Digimon Lord blushed under his dark green cloak. "She is an old friend."
"Ohhh…" Said the ghost-like digimon.
Suddenly another digimon entered the room. He was half hidden by shadow. He spoke, "But that is ancient history."
The Digi Lord nodded, "Yes it is…but we now have something other than history to study." He turned to a mirror that had appeared in front of him. A reflection of a girl sitting on a bench appeared. She had long blonde hair. It went down to about the middle of her back. She had deep brown eyes. They resembled a hawks. She was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. "Yes…in two years…we will get you…"

Back at Kevin's & Danny's House:

'Oh! What should I do?! I want to go back but I also want to stay here! What should I do?!'
Fooossshhh.
I heard the sliding glass door open. I looked up. It was Matt.
"So?" He asked.
"So. So what?" I relaxed than turned my face forward.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." He grinned, "And free only this month, a bonus ha." And after a minuet he added, "So. Are you coming back?"
I kept my face turned away, "Probably not."
Matt sat down next to me. His sent invaded me. "Why aren't you coming back?" He was a little to close for comfort.
"Matt, in this world I am some what claustrophobic."
I glanced over at him. He was blushing. "Oh…" He said. Than he moved over, "Sorry."
"It's O.K.…Just don't do it again. O.K.?"
Matt nodded and grinned, "O.K."
We chatted for a while. And while we did, I didn't realize that Matt was moving closer and closer to me.
Then I said, "I need to go see Izzy real fast. Then I'll come back out and we can continue our conversation." I stood up and went inside.
I saw Izzy seated at his laptop. "Hey Izzy!"
He glanced up and saw me, "Oh. Salutations Kira."
"What are you working on?" I leaned over his shoulder and looked.
"I'm just trying to find a way for you to come to the Digiworld and be able to return to this world." He explained while his fingers danced over the keyboard.
"Where are Kevin, Danny and Tai?"
"Oh. They are downstairs playing some Play Station game." Izzy said. He sounded kinda, absent-minded.
"Thanks!" I yelled and ran down the stairs. I saw them up ahead. Izzy had been right, they were playing a video game. "Hay Kevin, Danny? Can I talk to you? Oh. By the way I get next game!!"
"Sure." Danny said.
I had come down at the right time, because Matt had just entered the room.
"Hay! You!"
"Huh? Me?" Matt turned around.
"Yeah you. Will you take my spot?" Danny asked.
Matt shrugged, "Sure." He walked over and sat down and began playing Tai.
I led Kevin and Danny away into their older sister (Jenny) 's room. I shut the door until it was only open a crack. Her room was covered from wall to wall with posters of N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys. The parts that weren't covered were pinkish-peach. Her bed spread was covered in yellow, blue, and purple flowers.
"Man. This is hard work." I muttered. Than I turned and spoke to Kevin and Danny. As we spoke I heard Matt yell something. I later deciphered it as, 'Yesss!IkickedyourbutTai!!!'
That's when I heard someone running down the stairs. When I exited Jenny's room I saw Izzy.
"Hey! Guys! I think I found a way for her to come back to this world when she is done in the Digiworld!!" Then he must have noticed me, "Ala~ I mean Kira!! Guess what?! I think I found a way for you to return to this world after you are finished with your task in the digital world!!!!"
"Whoa! Calm down, O.K.? I heard you the first time!!"
"Oh. Sorry." Izzy blushed.
"So, now it's possible for her to go through the different time dimensions? That's really way cool!!"
"Yeah. Or at least that's the idea." Then Izzy turned and faced me. "So, will you come back now?"
"Are you sure it will work? 'Cause I'm not going to chance it."
"Yeah. It will work." Izzy spoke confidently.
"Do I have a choice?"
"No. Not really." Tai said.
I sighed. "Well… I guess I could go…"
"Well than let's go!!" Tai rubbed his hands together.
We all headed up the stairs. When we were all in front of Izzy's computer, I said good bye to Kevin and Danny. Than I turned and faced the computer.
"Lets go!"
Then suddenly I was surrounded in a swirling mist. The next thing I knew I was separated from the others.
Thump!
I sat up rubbing my head. Something moved in the bushes.
"Who's there?" I yelled.
"CRYSTAL BLADE MEMORY LOSS!!!!" An invisible shock wave swept across the land. Then the thing jumped out of the bushes. "Hiiii! I'm Stunomon! I'm a Digimon!" The thing that called it's self Stunomon was a round bluish-purple basketball. Also it had blades that were sticking out of the top of his head and out of the sides of his head. I counted three in all. 'Who is this thing?' And so began my adventure in the Digiworld…

Part: 2

Digimon: The Final Evolution

~*~ Chapter 1 ~*~
So, We Meet

Two Years Later…

As I stood on a high cliff over looking the blue digital ocean I thought about my home. It had been two years since I had first landed in this strange world. And I missed my home. But most of all I missed my friends. How long had it been since I had last seen Kevin and Danny? When I had last seen them, Kevin had had short cut blonde hair and blue eyes. Danny on the other hand had had brown curly hair and brown eyes. He had worn glasses. I sighed. A Digimon (short for Digital Monster) came up to my side. She was covered in bluish-purple fur and was about three feet tall. Also she had a long tail covered in blades. Practically every joint on her body was covered in blades.
As we stood on the cliff, I looked out to the ocean. When I did I saw a Digimon.
"Horkamon, wh~" I was cut off by Horkamon speaking.
"Yeah! I see it too! It looks like an Ikkumon!! And behind it is a Gururumon!!" Horkamon quickly explained about them.
"Hay! Look in the sky!" There were four Digimon that were flying.
Horkamon looked up. "Those are Birdramon and Kabuterimon." It took about three minutes for her to explain about them.
"What about the other two?"
"Oh. Those are Angemon and Angewomon. They are angel type Digimon…" Horkamon explained.
It was late afternoon. I quickly couculated how long it would take them to reach shore. With the current of the water and the speed they were traveling at, I figured they would beach either during the night or very, very early in the morning.
When I told Horkamon my couculations, she nodded and said, "Lets get some rest."
So, we camped right there on the cliff. But before we set up camp, we found some branches and we made a wall around us so the Digimon wouldn't see us. And while we did…

Meanwhile:

"Hay! Tai!"
"What Joe?" Tai said sounding board.
"I think you might want to see this!!" When Joe spoke, he practically fell off of Ikkumon.
"What has you so scared Joe?" Tai said *nonthinicaly. When he reached the top of Ikkumons enormous head, he blinked in the downing sun. Then he saw what Joe had seen. "Oh Joe, How idioc can you get? It's only land…"
"Well, ya know," Joe pushed the bridge of his glasses up the slope of his nose. "It cudda been a giant sea monster!!" He waved his hands around wildly.
"Joe?"
"What Tai?"
"Ya know you're an idiot." Tai said with his arms crossed.
Joe looked some what upset, "Yeah! Well at least I don't go barging in before I see if it's safe!!"
"Hay! Tai! We will probably reach that island in the horizon either late tonight or early tomorrow morning!!"
"Thanks Matt!!" Tai yelled to a blonde haired boy on a Gururumon's back. "Now all we have to do is reach that island in the horizon…" Tai muttered.

*nonthinicaly- it means that the person or thing that is speaking is board or not interested. Cool word huh? I made it up in history class. Get the picture?

On the Island:

After we built the wall of branches and sticks, Horkamon and I took turns on watch. I was on first watch. When Horkamon was asleep, I sat behind the wall and took my laptop out of a Time Pocket. A Time Pocket is a small rip in time that allows a person that is traveling through time and or space to store items. I admit, it is very convenient. When I was working on a program, eight blinking purple dots appeared on the screen. I ignored them until I realized that they were moving closer and closer to shore.
'Huh? What's this?'
I continued to watch them. Then I realized that they probably where the Digimon that Horkamon and I had seen earlier… But, why were there eight? We had only seen four Digimon… Did two dots equal one Digimon? Probably. I glanced down at my clock. It was located on my computer screen. The clock had a picture of a dragon on it. It was time for Horkamon to take over. I crawled over to her.
"Horkamon. Time to get up. It's your turn to take watch." I whispered.
Horkamon answered to that with a grunt. Then she sat up. "O.K.… I guess you're right… I'm up…" She rubbed her eyes.
"Thanks Horkamon." I yawned, then went to bed (or at least what you can call bed in the Digiworld.). I had let Horkamon play on my computer. As I drifted off to sleep, I wondered why their had been eight purple dots…

-.- :p #,~

"Hey! Wake up sleepyhead! Or else the Digimon will leave after they beach!" Horkamon shook me.
"Ugh." I groaned as my response.
"Oh, wake up!!!" Horkamon flipped me over.
"Ouch." I said while rubbing my head after sitting up.
"Well, you deserved it so there!" Horkamon stuck out her tongue.
"Thanks a lot." I yawned. "So, how far away are the Digimon?"
"They are about ten feet from beaching." Horkamon said, her blades glittered in the moonlight.
It was around midnight. Or at least that's what it seemed like. I glanced down at my wristwatch. It was 1:06 a.m.
"They're beaching!" Horkamon whispered crouching down behind the wall.
"Should we welcome them now or tomorrow?" I asked.
"You mean today. I think we should- Wait! Are those humans??" She asked startled.
"Where?" I asked also startled, but by her outburst not by the fact that a human boy of about fourteen stepped off of the Gururumon.
She pointed to eight figures.
'So, the eight dots each represented a human. But, why are more humans here?' I pondered in thought. "Are they Digi-Destined also?"
"Probably. So, now should we go down and greet them?" Horkamon asked.
"No. Not now. They will probably sleep until dawn then leave. When they fall asleep we'll go down and investigate." I stated the plan.
"Eight Digimon to one? I hope ya know what you're doing. Even if I am a Legendary Digimon, I'm not that strong." She said fearfully.
"Don't worry. They cant catch us, especially when you Digi-volve to Bladeramon." I said confidently.
After a few minutes, the people on the beach quieted down and soon after the air was filled with sleeping sounds. Silently, Horkamon and I crept down the cliff side toward the sleeping kids. I moved toward the boy who had gotten off the Gururumon first.
'Huh?'
The boy had wild blonde hair. He was wearing a green turtle neck tack-top and baggy blue jeans. To add on to this he also wore army boots. I moved my eyes back up to his face. For some reason, I had a feeling that his eyes were blue.
'Man, he's hot!' I shoke my head, giving myself a mental slap, kick and then I mentally threw myself over the horizon. I should never ever think that anyone was hot. Ever. Yet… He did look a little familiar.
I stood up and walked over to a few more kids. All of them were either my age or younger.
"Horkamon, all of them are children." I whispered.
"Well duh. How long did it take for you to figure that out?" She asked. "We still have a few hours before dawn. Let's see if they have Tags or Crests. O.K.?"
"O.K. But, I get that one over there." I pointed to the blonde haired boy.
"Ohhhh! You have a crush on him don't you?!" She whispered excitedly.
I had long since learned that arguing with her got me nowhere. So I said, "So what if I do? What are you gonna do about it?" I put my hands on my hips.
"Man, you're no fun to tease…" Horkamon muttered. Then she walked over to a little girl and checked for the Tag and Crest.
I walked over to the boy. My stomach was churning with butterflies. Then I kneeled down next to him. If he had a Tag or Crest, he didn't wear it outside of his shirt. So… I quickly reached under it and found a Tag. After carefully lifting his head I removed it from around his neck. I looked at it. It indeed had a Crest. The Crest was blue and had a symbol that looked like an eye on it.
"Hmmm…"
Suddenly, the boy moved. I jumped to my feet, surprised by his sudden movement.
"Uhn…" The boy slowly opened his eyes then he turned his head and looked at me. I still had the Tag and Crest clutched in my hand.
"Who are you?" The boy asked sitting up.
"I'm…" I thought for a moment. "You're dreaming. I'm an angle made up from your imagination, here to heal your soul. Go back to sleep."
"Whatever." He stood up. "Then if this is a dream, why do you look so real? Huh, Miss Angle?"
'Man, not only is he hot, he's smart.' I gazed at him. I'd been right. About his eyes that is, they were blue. "Well, aren't we picky! Geeze." I muttered, rolling my eyes.
"If you're an angle, then why are you wearing teen cloths?" The boy asked giving me a weird look.
'Man he's good.' I thought.
"I'm waiting." The boy said crossing his arms.
"Good point." I said.
"So, you're not an angle, are you?" The boy asked.
"Well, duh." I turned around and started to walk away, the Tag and Crest still dangling in my hand.
"Stop. Why do you have my Tag and Crest?"
I stopped walking. Then brought them up to my face. "Oh. These?" I turned and chucked them back to the boy. "Sorry. I forgot I had them."
Then I turned back around and continued to walk.
"Just a second. You're a human aren't you?" The boy asked running up to me.
"No. I'm an angle. What do ya think I am?!" I asked sarcastically.
"Why are you here if you're a human like us?" The boy asked. 'Wait! Could she be one of us? A Digi-Destined?!' The boy asked him self. His eyes grew wide.
"What?" I asked noticing his eyes widening.
"Are you a Digi-Destined?" He asked.
"So what if I am? What would you do about it?" I asked a little rudely.
'Hey, I think I like this girl.' The boy thought. "Yup. I bet you are." He muttered.
"Let me guess, you're a Digi-Destined too aren't you?"
"What makes you think that?" He asked me.
"Well, for starters you have a Tag and Crest. Then you asked me if I was one. And I'm guessing that the Gururumon is your Digimon. Am I right?" I looked over at him.
He looked surprised. "Uh. Yeah. You're right."
"So, if you're a Digi-Destined, then what's your Crest mean?" I had been wondering what it had meant.
"Friendship. And I'm guessing that you have one too. Right?"
"Perhaps. What's your name so I don't have to call you 'boy' or 'hey you'."
"It's Yamato Ishida. But everyone calls me Matt. What's yours, for the same reasons?"
We stopped near the edge of a forest. I whistled twice then turned to him. "Sorry Matt. I can't let you know that just yet."
Horkamon ran up to us. "Well well." She said crossing her arms.
"Time to go." I said to her.
"Who's that?" Matt asked looking from me to her.
"I'm Horkamon. And you better not be putting 'the moves' on Ala--"
I slapped my hand over her mouth. "Sorry. We have to go."
To bad Horkamon wasn't the type to let people interrupt her. She bit my hand.
"Ouch! Horkamon! What was that for?!" I glared at her.
She ignored me. "As I was saying, you better not be putting 'the moves' on Alana or else…"
Matt looked at me. "So, your name's Alana, huh?"
"No, it's Bob." I said sarcastically.
He looked back down at the frowning Horkamon. "Don't worry, I'm not putting 'the moves' on Alana. Promise." Then he looked at me. I was still holding my hand. It throbbed with pain. "Are you O.K.?" He asked reaching out to help.
"I'm fine." I moved my hand away from him.
"Are ya sure? It looks like it could use a bandage."
"Like I said, I'm fine." I closed my eyes and the bite marks disappeared.
"Wa-Wow. You really are an angle." He gazed at me.
"No." I said. "I'm Bob."
He gave me a crooked grin. "I bet you are."
Horkamon shrugged her shoulders then left.
"Do you have a Crest or not?" Matt asked me.
"Does it really matter?" I shot back.
"Yes."
"Fine. Yeah. I do have a crest."
Matt opened his mouth.
"And it's called Protection, Imagination and Healing. It's also known as a Combination Crest." I said reaching around my neck and pulled a silver Tag and a bluish-purple Crest out of my tee shirt.
"Why is the Tag silver instead of gold?" Matt asked taking the Crest and Tag into his hand.
"Probably because it's a Combination Crest." I answered shrugging.
Suddenly something behind me pushed me toward Matt. He grabbed me as a natural reaction. And I ended up with my hands against his chest. We stood there for about three minutes without moving. Then we pulled away from each other, blushing like crazy.
"Well, I finally got you two together and you pull away from each other? Tisk tisk."
I whipped around. "Horkamon?! You were the one who shoved me?!" I yelled.
"Shhhh! Don't forget the other kids are asleep!" She held her index finger to her 'lips'.
I glared down at her with my arms crossed. "You know I won't ever forgive you for this."
She smiled. "But, I thought you said that you li--" Once again, I found myself with my hand over her mouth. And once again, I found myself wishing she were the type who didn't mind a hand over their mouth cutting them off. "As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted," She turned to me. "I thought you said that you lik--"
I slapped my hand over her mouth and this time, she had her mouth shut.
"Mou monna a nitch!" She said having trouble with speaking.
I grinned. Well, she wouldn't be saying anything for now. Then she got back at me by swinging her tail and tripping me. Matt moved to catch me. He did. That's when Horkamon began to talk again.
"Shut up, will ya?" I asked. She did.
Once again, I tried to pull away from Matt but he held me tight.
"Um. Matt? I have to go." I said still trying to pull away.
"Huh?" He looked at me, then turned a deep crimson color. "Sorry." He let go of me.
"Horkamon, time to go." I turned and faced her.
She nodded. Then she yelled, "HORKAMON DIGI-VOLVE TO…BLADERAMON!!!!" [O.K.! Let's blow this joint! Waa-hoo!] She yelled in thought speak, rearing up on her hind legs and flapping her angle like wings.
"Well, see ya in another dimension Matt." I said then turned to Bladeramon. "Let's go."
"Wait! If you're a Digi-Destined, then why not stay with us?" Matt asked.
"Because, I've already caused enough damage to you. Besides, the Digimon Lord is most likely to attack you if I stay with you and the others any longer." I said with one hand on the back of Bladeramon.
"Well, the first part isn't true. Because ever since my parents got divorced, I haven't let anyone come near me. You're the first one in ages that I actually let get close to me. The second part however, none of us know who this Digimon Lord is, but we took care of Myotisemon and all of the Dark Masters. So, we as a team will probably be able to defeat this Digimon Lord. And anot--"
"You might have been able to defeat those guys but, the DL as I call him, is not a Digimon. Rumor has it that he is a human. See he is more powerful then any Digimon. All of the evil Digimon look to him for guidance. Even Myotisemon and the Dark Masters looked up to him. He is the ultimate evil. That's why I can't let you people get near him. Besides even Shantamon, one of his squealing lowly Digimon, could probably defeat you guys with his Death Scythe Destroyer attack." I said.
"Well, what if this DL attacks us when you're not here with us? What happens then, huh?" Matt asked.
"He's not after you. He's after me. He only goes after people he knows can destroy him. So, I warn you to stay away from us." I jumped up onto Bladeramons back. "Remember what I have told you Matt of Friendship."
"Please wait. Why not stay with us for at least one day? Just a day. No longer. Please?" He grabbed my hand.
[Should I get him off our case?] Bladeramon asked ready to attack.
"No." I answered to Bladeramons question. "And, I am sorry but I can not stay with you Matt. Come on, let's go." Bladeramon turned and galloped away into the dark forest.
"Stop! Please!" I heard Matts cries as we galloped through the forest. "Stop! Please wait! Please!"
Eventually they died away.
[Alana, are you gonna be O.K.?] Bladeramon asked in the dawn's light.
I didn't answer.
[Do you want me to go back? So you can say--]
"No. I'm fine. He woulda been killed if I had stayed any longer." I sighed.
We had stopped moving.
[Are you sure? 'Cause I'm not gonna go back after we leave this island. And I know that you lo--]
"Who said we were leaving the island? I plan to stay here incase the DL decides to attack those Digimon and the other humans." I dismounted her, then looked at our surroundings. Bladeramon de-Digi-Volved back into Horkamon then walked over to my side. We had stopped near a lake with a cave on the far side of it. About fifteen feet from the edge of the water the forest started. I sighed.
"You miss him, don't you? That's why you wanna stay here, on this island isn't it?" Horkamon asked looking up into my sad face.
"I guess so." I mumbled. Then suddenly I yelled in an outburst of rage, "Why did I have to meet him?! Everything was fine until he came! Why did he come to this island?! Why not another island?! WHY????" My voice seemed to echo for miles and I was sure that Matt had heard my outburst.
"You don't really believe that, do you?" Horkamon asked me. At times she could be a real nuisance, but she could still be kind when it counted most.
"I don't know anymore. Ever since I came here, I've been looking for the reason that I was brought here to the Digiworld. And now, I just don't know anymore." I ran out to the lake and stood in the water quietly. Horkamon knew that when I ran from her, I needed time alone to think things over.
She sighed and shook her head. "Why wont you admit it? Why?" She whispered then ran around the lake to the cave.

~*~ Chapter 2 ~*~
Another Light?

That Evening:

"Alana, it's getting dark! You should come in!" Horkamon yelled at me from the cave.
I lifted my head and looked across the lake. I saw the spot were we had been this morning. My face was tear-stained from all the crying I had done earlier that day. I don't know why I had cried, but I guess that when you feel over loaded with questions, your head begins to hurt and you end up crying. I guess that was what happened to me. My head was over loaded with to many questions. But, one thing bothered me. Usually crying helps relieve me of my stress, today it hadn't. I still had the same headache that I had had all day.
"Alana! Come on! It's getting dark!" Horkamon yelled.
"Why? Why can't I believe in my abilities?" I choked out. "Why?"
Horkamon walked over to my side. "Alana, is something wrong? Please tell me what's wrong."
"I don't know." I mumbled putting my head in my arms. "I just don't know."
"Come on. Let's go inside." She grabbed my arm and tried to pull me up.
Suddenly we heard a noise.
"Are you sure she went this way Matt? Maybe it was a mirage."
"I'm sure. Hey, Tai I'm impressed. You actually learned a big word."
"Oh shut up Matt. This is your wild goose chase not ours."
"It's not a wild goose chase! How many times do I have to tell you she's real?!" Suddenly, sixteen shapes entered the clearing on the other side of the lake.
"Besides Tai, you agreed to help Matt find that girl and her Digimon." An Augumon said.
"I know, but we've been searching all day and haven't found anything but a bunch of hoof prints!" The boy said sounding exasperated.
"Well at least we found some water and- Hey! Who's that over there?" A Gatomon asked pointing at us.
Matt turned and looked at us. His face brightened. "Alana! Horkamon!"
He ran over to us.
"Huh?" I looked up.
"Oh. So now you show up!" Horkamon said with her 'hands' on her 'hips'.
"What's wrong with Alana?" He asked kneeling down to look at me.
"She keeps mumbling about not knowing and about finding herself." Horkamon said.
"Alana, can you hear me?" Matt asked. He put his hands on my shoulders.
The other kids and Digimon came up behind him.
"Alana? Can you hear me?" He asked again, this time a little slower.
"Why am I here in the Digiworld? Who am I? I don't know anymore. I just don't know." I mumbled.
"Don't worry. We'll get you out of this." Matt said.
"Matt, who's that?" A boy with brown hair and goggles asked.
"It's Alana. The girl I was telling you about." Matt answered.
"What's wrong with her?" A little boy with a green hat asked.
"I don't know T.K." Matt was beginning to sound worried. "Well, I think it's her cloths that are bothering her. After all, they are a bit odd." A girl with a pink hat said looking down at me. "It's not her cloths!" Horkamon yelled. Everyone looked at her. "Mimi, I think she's right." Said a little girl with mouse brown hair. "Is that… Is that Horkamon?!" All the Digimon asked at once. "Yes I am Horkamon. What are ya, blind or something?!" She yelled. "Now, can we please help Alana?!"
"Wow. I like your fur. It's a nice color and it matches." Said the pink hatted girl.
"Don't get to close to me or I'll rip you to shreds!" Horkamon yelled at Pink Hat. She extended her blades. "Now tell me who you are!"
"Well, I'm Augumon and--"
"Yes. I know who the Digimon are. I meant the humans!" Horkamon said.
"My name is Tai." Said Brown Hair.
"Sora."
"Mimi. And please don't hurt me!" The girl with the pink hat whimpered, hiding behind Sora.
"Salutations, I'm Izzy."
"I'm Joe." Said a boy who was adjusting his glasses.
"My name's T.K." The little boy said waving.
"I'm Kari. Glad to meet you."
"Nice to meet you all, but now isn't the time to have tea. We have to figure out what is wrong with Alana." Horkamon said.
"Who?" Mimi asked.
"Her!" Horkamon yelled pointing at me. "Boy, you really have a short attention span Mimi."
"Oh. Yeah! I remember her! She's the one who has problems with her cloths!" Mimi exclaimed.
Sora looked around. "Hey, what happened to Matt?"
"Huh?" Tai glanced around. "I don't know. He was right here a few minutes ago."
"Matt! Matt, where are you?!" T.K. yelled, cupping his hands around his mouth.
"Matt…" I choked.
"Alright! What have you done to Matt?" Tai asked pointing at me.
I looked up at him. My eyes looked empty and dead.
"Well? What did you do to him?" Tai asked taking a step back from me.
"Huh? What do ya mean Tai? I'm right here." Matt said walking out of the cave.
"Matt! Where were you?" Patomon asked.
"I was in that cave getting something." Matt said pointing to the cave.
"What were you getting?" Gatomon questioned.
"Her Tag and Crest." Matt held them up.
"What will that do to help her?" Tai asked.
"We'll see." Matt said. He walked over to me.
"Wasn't she wearing them?" Horkamon asked walking over to him.
"No. I noticed that it was gone when I was talking to her earlier." He kneeled down and put my Tag and Crest around my neck.
Suddenly, the Crest began to glow a bright white. The light spread throughout my body and warmed me from the inside. My eyes opened and regained the life to them. My mind began to clear and realign itself.
"What the?" Tai began.
"Where is all that light coming from?" Mimi asked, staring.
"Prodigious! The light you see is being directed from the planet Saturn, to her Crest and is healing her pains and sorrows!" Izzy exclaimed typing wildly on his keyboard wail looking up at me. "I can't miss a minute of this."
"What? I don't understand." Tai said still looking at me.
"I thought you wouldn't."
"Wow! That light is pretty!" T.K. said in awe.
"It reminds me of Kari's light. Only it has more of a purple shade to it." Sora said.
"That's because the light is being channeled from Saturn, the Planet of Death." Izzy explained.
"I think I'm allergic to it." Joe sneezed.
"Oh Joe, you're allergic to everything…" Gommomon said.
"Well, at least it puts a new shade to her cloths." Mimi said looking down at me.
Kari looked over at Mimi, "You're not still onto her about that are you?"
Suddenly the light faded.
Wumph
I fell down from my sitting position. Matt moved toward me with caution. If Izzy had said that the light had come from the Planet of Death, then he'd better be careful.
"Uhn…" I moaned then sat up. "Where am I?" Suddenly I remembered. "Horkamon! What's going on? Who are these people?"
Horkamon came over and sat next to me. "Are you O.K.? You had us all worried for a minute there."
"Horkamon, who are these people?" I moved closer to her.
"Oh, them? They're the other Digi-Destined."
"The other Digi-Destined? Oh yeah, I remember them." I tried to stand up but my knees buckled under me and I began to drop. Suddenly, I felt an arm around my waist and I stopped falling. I looked over to the person who was helping me. "Matt?! What the hell are you doing here?! I thought I told you to stay away from us!"
"Yeah, ya did. But I've always been a poor listener." He said smiling.
"Let go of me. I can stand on my own!" I pulled away from him, and stood up. Then I glared at them. "Leave before the DL finds out that you're with us."
"Why should we go? And who's the DL?" Tai asked.
"Just do it!" I turned around and headed back toward the cave.
"Stop right there! You're just so rude!" Mimi yelled at me. "We help you and you tell us to go away? I don't think so."
"You are a fool then. The DL doesn't take lightly to people like you. He'd have you cut to shreds then feed you to his Digimon." I continued my walk toward the cave. "That's why you can't help us or come near us. So, I'm suggesting- no I'm telling you to leave."
"Mimi's right! We helped you and you diss us like a piece of trash!" Sora said glaring at my back.
"Fine. Listen." I turned and faced them. "You stay with me, you die. You leave, you live. Simple as that. So, choose your destiny before the morning or Horkamon and I will leave you here. O.K.?"
"Fine!" Sora and Mimi yelled.
I smirked. "I'm gonna sack out. See you in the morning." Then I turned and went into the cave. Horkamon followed me.
"So, it's a vote. Who goes; and who stays." Tai said rubbing his hands together. "Who goes?"
Mimi and Sora raised their hands.
"I thought you guys wanted to stay." Palmon said with a shocked look.
"Yeah. The way you two were acting, we thought you'd stay for sure." Biyomon said accusingly.
"Humph! She is just so rude, I don't think that I could stand her!"
"I agree with Mimi. She was rude to us." Sora said glaring at the cave.
"O.K. Two out. Who stays besides Matt? I have a feeling he wants to stay anyway." Tai asked. "Right Matt?"
Matt nodded.
Amazingly, Izzy was one of the first people to raise his hand.
"Izzy?!" Everyone asked at once.
"Yes. I'd like a chance to find out more about the connection between her Crest and Saturn." He explained.
"O.K.…" Tai said. "Who else?"
Kari raised her hand.
Then T.K.
Joe.
"And me. So, that makes five plus Matt." Tai said counting on his fingers.
Mimi and Sora raised their hands.
"I thought you guys were staying behind. Make up your minds already!" Tai said.
"We decided to go with you guys. Regretfully…" Sora said.
"O.K. So, all of us are going?" Tai questioned.
Everyone nodded.
"Good." He said. "Let's get some rest."
"I'll go tell Alana." Matt said, then walked toward the cave. He stopped out side near the edge of the cave entrance, hearing something.
"Horkamon, why are they acting this way? All I want is for them to be safe so if I get killed the Digiworld has a chance left for survival. I never meant to be rude about it." I sighed. "All I wanted was for them to be safe. Don't tell anyone else this but, especially Sora and Mimi. They're both very strong and when that strength grows they will become inseparable as friends and as allies. Or at least that's what Pluto tells me."
"Pluto is wise but, what does she see truly? And what about Matt?" She asked.
"Well, Pluto won't tell me anything about Matt." I answered.
Horkamon shook her bladed head. "I meant you. What about him?"
"Well… I'm really not sure. But, I do feel a mysterious energy coming from him." I shook my head.
"Do you think he could be the one?! The one you were sent here to find?! That might be why Pluto won't say anything about it!" She was getting a little excited.
"No. I highly doubt he's the one." I said seriously.
"But all of our evidence points to it!" Horkamon said standing up.
"What evidence?" I asked. "We have no evidence that Matt is the one I was sent here for, or any that points to the fact that Pluto isn't saying anything about him because of that."
"Good point…" She sighed. Then sat back down.
Matt decided to make his entrance. "Ummm… May I speak with Alana?"
"Sure." I stood up.
Horkamon smiled at me then left the cave to give us some privacy.
Matt walked up to me, looking back at the way Horkamon had left. "She didn't have to leave. I only wanted to tell you that all of us are gonna stay with you two. If that's O.K."
"Alright, how long were you standing there?" I asked.
"Huh? What do ya mean? I just got here." He said.
"Matt, don't lie to me. I know you were there. I saw you standing outside of the cave. I'm not mad, I just want to know how long you were there." I said perfectly calm.
"Well…" Matt seemed hesitant.
"I promise, I'm not mad." I said.
"I don't know." He said quickly.
"You don't believe me, do you? About not being mad. How can I prove to you that I'm not mad?"
"Huh?" Matt asked looking at me.
"Nothing." I shook my head. "Just tell me how long you were standing there."
"I'm not sure. The first thing I herd was you asking why we were acting some way. Or something like that."
"Good. Thank you Matt." I sighed then turned around.
"What's wrong? Are you still in pain?" Matt moved toward me.
"Yes… I am still in pain. In fact, two of the pains won't go away. No matter what I do." I said, then clutched my gut.
"Can't your Crest heal it? I mean, we all saw Saturn give your Crest power--" Matt stopped realizing that he had spoken a little far on the subject.
"Matt, don't worry about me. I'll be fine. After all, I've lived in the Digiworld for two years. I've always found my path one way or another." I let go of my stomach. "Even if it means death, I'd do it to save this world."
Suddenly the pain started again, and I clutched my stomach. Then I fell to the floor, cringing from the pain.
Matt walked over to my side and kneeled down. "Two years? Was it always this bad?"
"No." I gasped. "Never. Before I came to the Digital World it only happened about a few times a month. And now, it's even worse."
'Oh, what can I do to help? I feel useless.' Matt thought looking at me with worry.
"Don't worry so much Matt. You're not useless. Everyone has a reason for existence. Even you. Though, you might not know what it is yet, you'll find it eventually." I smiled at his surprised look.
"You- you read my mind! How did you know what I was thinking?" He asked looking at me.
"Like I said, everyone has a reason for living. Even you." I cringed again at the pain.
"What should I do? I mean, if I really have a purpose, what should I do to find it?" Matt asked moving toward me.
"I don't know. You must find that out on your own." I said weakly.
"Can I help you in anyway?" He asked placing his gloved hand on my shoulder.
Suddenly, the pain stopped. I let go of my stomach, amazed at what had just happened.
"Matt, the pain, it's… it's gone!" I looked up into his face.
"Really? Are ya sure?"
I nodded, looking into the depths of his blue eyes. They reminded me of the ocean, deep and calm. Just like Lady Neptune had described to me. So calm…
He reached his arms around my shoulders, then pulled me toward him. "I'm glad."
My stomach began to churn with butterflies.
"Hey, Matt! Patomon and me need some help with this!" We heard T.K. yell.
Matt and I quickly let go of each other, both of us blushing up a storm.
"Matt? Where are you?" T.K. yelled.
"In here T.K.!" Matt yelled back. Then he turned to me. "Sorry."
Next thing I knew, he was running out of the cave.
"Man," I muttered placing my hand on my head. "I've never been that close to a boy…"
Suddenly I remembered the way that his touch had healed my pains. 'Woah! What's going on?!' I touched my shoulder where he had touched it. The skin in that spot still felt warm from it. 'That was just plain weird… Was Horkamon right?! Is he the one?! Wait, T.K. interrupted us! So, maybe he's not the one! Maybe Pluto saw what was going on and stopped it! Could that be?!' I watched as Matt ran over to T.K. 'Perhaps not…'
"I saw that." A voice said behind me.
"Horkamon, you've really gotta stop spying on me ya know." I sighed, then turned around to face her.
"What happened earlier? Was it another attack?" She asked stepping out from the shadows.
"Yeah." I looked down at her. "Horkamon, what do you think these attacks mean? Do you think Pluto is trying to contact me?"
"I'm not sure. But, I think you should go to your room for that." Horkamon said crossing her arms and closing her eyes. She leaned back against the rocky wall of the cave.
"Whatever." I said smirking.
"Hm. I also think you still have a crush on him." She also smirked.
"You know, you should stop meddling where you're not wanted." The smile on my face disappeared. Sincerity took its toll.
"Great. Now you're starting to sound like The Planetary Council… That's just what we need, an Alana who acts like The Almighty Planetary Council. Besides, I still think you have a crush on him and that you should go to your room for it." She opened the eye that was closest to me.
"And I still think you should stop messing around where you're not wanted."
"Enough fighting. Let's save that for the others, O.K.?" She moved herself off the wall and moved deeper into the cave. "I'm gonna go to bed."
"O.K. But, I'm staying up a little longer. I need to think about some stuff." I walked out of the cave.
"Hm. She's starting to sound like Lady Saturn. So stern and stubborn. Oh well…" Horkamon turned and walked to the back of the cave where she curled up and slept silently, her blades sticking out at odd angles to protect her.
I sat out side of the forest furthest away from the sleeping Digi-Destined.
'Man… I feel so confused… What should I do? Now I feel like Matt…' I sat with my head in my hands. 'What should I do?!'
Suddenly I heard a sound a little ways off in the distance. I stood up and walked toward it, through the trees. As I got closer, I began to hear the sound a little clearer. When I reached a clearing, I hid behind a tree and listened. For some reason, I felt that I had heard this song before. I peaked around the tree I was behind, the bark felt rough to the touch.
When I saw who it was, my eyes grew wide…

~*~ Chapter 3 ~*~
A Song From Long Ago…

'What the?' I saw the vague outline of a figure sitting on a rock that over looked the ocean. Where had this cliff come from? There was no way it was the same one that Horkamon and I had been on the day before. When we had traveled the island before, we had never seen a cliff on this side of it. I peered closer at the figure. When I did I almost fell over because of the roots from the tree.
I still couldn't tell who it was. After a few minutes, the song died away. The last few notes echoing in the still night air. I thought that the instrument was a harmonica… But, that couldn't be possible, because I didn't know anyone who played one… unless one of the other Digi-Destined played one.
