Snow drifts to the ground,

My heart falls along beside it.

My fingers are numb,

Without your warmth to heat.

Toes, numb as I walk,

Crunch, my foot lands.

The snow seems endless,

Like outer space.

Arms of a ten year old,

Wrap around myself.

The snow is cold,

Like my heart.

Coat, shaggy and worn,

Thick scarf wrapped.

Yet, the cold seeps in,

So cold without you.

Jeans, soaked to my knees,

Snow falls into my boots.

Silence echo’s around,

Snow drifts to the ground.

I trudge on, even if I’m frozen,

Without you, I’m so cold.

Lazy, thick flakes drift, frozen,

Like my soul.

Evergreens, covered in blankets,

Frozen snow drifts around me.

The sky is an empty gray,

Empty, like my eyes.

My hair is frozen,

I miss your warmth.

Steam comes and goes,

In sync with my heart.

I am frigid,

Without you.
