Alana ran off into the trees as the others watched.
“Where’s she going?” someone asked.
“We’ll tell you, if you wait,” Kyle had answered.
T.K. closed his eyes. So, he thought. It’s already been that long. It’s already been two years since he was reborn, then was killed…
The blonde opened his eyes. He saw that Alana had her fists clenched.
He turned to Yoli. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Okay,” Yoli said after hesitating.
“We’ll camp here,” Alana said. “You,” she pointed at Davis, “You get some wood. Make sure it’s dry. You,” she nodded at Codi, “You’ll get some large leaves.” She then turned to Kari and T.K. and Yoli. She frowned. “You three stay here. I’ll go get some fish.” With that said, the girl turned to the lake.
Kari turned and looked at T.K.
“You think she remembers us?” she asked.
“I don’t doubt it,” he answered, frowning. “But…I just don’t understand it…”
“What?” Yoli asked.
“I don’t understand why she seems to be so much more full of hate…why does she hate everyone so much?”
Patomon looked up at T.K.
Gatomon glanced at Alana. “I guess it’s because she can’t stand to see others so full of joy. If you ask me, she’d be better off dead.”
“Gatomon,” Kari turned and looked at her Digimon. “Don’t say stuff like that.”
“Why not? I mean, it’s true…it’s not like she’ll ever feel anything towards anyone. Not even him.”
“Who?” Yoli asked, completely lost. Hawkmon also looked lost.
“Sean,” T.K. and Kari answered.
“Who’s he?” Hawkmon inquired.
Kari felt her mind go blank. For some reason, she couldn’t think. Gatomon looked over at Bladeramon, who was using her long thin tail to spear fish. Sparkling diamond like drops of water sprinkled everywhere as she drew the tip out, a flailing fish on the end.
“Sean…” T.K. muttered. “None of us knew who he really was.”
Patomon nodded.
“It seems she still has him on her mind,” Gatomon said with a sigh.
“How many years has it been? Four? Five?” Patomon asked, looking at his human.
“Longer,” T.K. replied. “I think it’s been six years at the least. Maybe seven.”
Yoli threw her hands in the air, exasperated. “Fine! I give up! Don’t tell me what’s going on!” she stalked away, followed by Hawkmon.
Kari closed her eyes. “I don’t understand why this has to happen again. Why do we have to find the others? I mean, remember how Kyle and the others acted toward us?”
T.K. nodded. “I agree. But, I think we owe this to them.”
“Why? What have they done for us?” Gatomon asked, narrowing her eyes.
“I know you and Anthylamon never really got along, but at least you could act a little more dignified about it all,” Patomon said, flying over to a fallen tree where Yoli and Hawkmon were sitting.
Kari closed her eyes. Maybe he’s right. Maybe we are being a little too irrational about it all. Well, she opened her eyes, I hope Kyle’s changed some.
Alana thrashed about in her sleep, her eyes were shut tight as the memories flooded her mind and evaded her thoughts.
Fire was all around as she stood alone. She heard shrieks of pain and suffering that seemed to echo around the valley that she was in. She turned her head, and saw Kyle. He was standing near a girl with kinked hair, and with a gray, black, and white Gatomon. KuraiGatomon.
Alana blinked, then saw the girl lift a knife. Its silver blade glinted in the flame light. The blonde watched with horror as the girl lowered the blade to Kyle’s throat.
Then, the image changed, and instead of Heather killing Kyle, it was Kyle killing a boy. The boy was about nine, and had dark brown hair, and cobalt blue eyes. Dark angel kisses dotted his face, and he was dressed in blue sweat pants, and a white shirt.
The knife sliced through the boys’ skin, leaving crimson red blood in its wake. The boy collapsed to the ground, his eyes were wide as the pain flooded his mind. Alana began to try and run to him, to save him. But, the faster she ran, the further away he got. He slowly fell to the ground.
The girl stopped, her eyes grew wide, and she let out a scream.
Alana’s eyes shot open, and she sat up, screaming her head off.
Bladeramon turned and looked at her. <’Alana! Calm down! It was only a dream!’>
Alana stopped screaming, and panted, trying to catch her breath.
Codi and the others ran over to see what was going on.
“Alana?” Kari questioned. She moved closer to the girl and lightly touched her arm.
Alana jolted her arm away from the girl. “Get away from me!” she shrieked.
Kari stumbled backward.
Alana stood up and was gone into the forest.
T.K. began to go after her, but Bladeramon stood up and stopped him. <’Don’t worry about her. You and I both know where she’s going.’>
Yoli exchanged glances with Davis and Codi. All six of the new Destined pairs were confused about what Bladeramon meant.
Alana ran as fast as her legs would carry her. Leaves and twigs slapped at her face and ripped her cloths.
It’s not fair! Why of all people am I the only one plagued with these dreams?!
Alana slowed to a walk, recognizing the clearing that she was in. Her heart thumped as she looked at the grave at the foot of a large cherry tree. She stumbled over to it, and collapsed.
She smiled, then began to cry. Her features had become clouded from pain and fear. After a moment or two, she stood up, and walked over to a hole at the base of the tree. She reached a hand in, and pulled out a smooth rock. But, not just any rock. It was smooth and had a silver sheen to it. She smirked as she pulled out seven others, much like it.
“I could do it again…just this once…just to see you again…but, that would be wrong…wouldn’t it? It would be selfish of me…” she closed her eyes, and took the rocks over to the grave, and set them down. “I want to so bad…”
A sudden rustling of bushes caught her off guard, and she stood up, looking around with narrowed eyes.
“Why, hello there, Alana,” a voice said, and a shadow came from the trees, followed by another.
