Chapter 45: About the Party....

(by Melissa, added on 22 June 2002 03:49 PM)

It was Wednesday, and the end of school for the day. Tomoyo and Sakura were sitting on the school steps talking...

"And then," Tomoyo continued, “she said that I was the best singer there! She gave me a lead role!"

Sakura smiled, "That's great!" then she shivered slightly, "It sure is cold out here."

"Well, it is January. Besides we'll be out in the cold practically all day when we go skiing!" Tomoyo reminded.

"Yes, I know." Sakura sighed.

"I wonder how Syaoran-kun will adjust to the weather here." Tomoyo wondered out loud.

"Oh, Tomoyo, please don't mention him right now," Sakura said sadly with a slight tear dripping from her eye," he still won't talk to me."

"Oh...Sakura-chan" Tomoyo said attempting to be comforting.

Tomoyo decided to change the subject seeing how she looked hurt.

"So...wasn't it a shock to see Heather at the party?!!" Tomoyo said trying to sound cheerful.

"Yah!" Sakura said as her eyes lit up, "I hadn't seen her in a while...I thought something was wrong..."

"Oh...did you call her?" Tomoyo asked.

"Yes...I tried, but she didn't answer." Sakura replied flatly.

"Why was that?"

"She said she had been visiting her obaasan (grandmother) for a while and is thinking about moving to London to live with her."

"I see." Tomoyo said.

"Yeah, but she said she's moving back really soon." Sakura sulked.

"It seems like everyone is moving away these days." Tomoyo said shaking her head.

Sakura then smiled slyly, "And speaking of the party...what is this 'kissing Eriol' thing all about, hmm?"

Tomoyo blushed slightly, “It’s nothing."

"Yes it is..." Sakura insisted.

"No, it's not. Besides, I'd rather not talk about it." Tomoyo turned away still blushing.

"Please! I'm your best friend! Just tell me!" Sakura persisted tugging on Tomoyo's shoulder.

"It's mistletoe. We we under it! Ok?! No big deal!" Tomoyo said in a rushed tone.

"Please!! Just tell me...please!!" Sakura pleaded with her kawaii puppy-eyes.

Tomoyo sighed, "Alright. I'll tell you. Eriol was in love with Mazuki-Sensei as far as I know. He and I  were never enemies, but never really friends in particular." Then she blushed harder "We started to...um...well... develop an...um...'attraction' to each other. The afternoon before the party, I was going for a walk when I noticed Eriol and thought it would be nice just to say hi. So I did."

"And??" Sakura asked, her eyes widening at the growing interest in Tomoyo's story.

"And being the kind guy he is, he offered to buy me a cone of ice-cream. We went to an ice-cream shop and thought it was great time to get to know each other better. We sat down and we talked, and talked and we had a lot of similar interests."

"But...the mistletoe??" Sakura asked impatiently.

"Yah, I was getting to that. So anyway, we were friends I guess. At your party, we talked for a while more. He even asked me to dance--as a friendship thing! Suddenly we found ourselves under the mistletoe. AND I ADMIT IT! I KISSED HIM! OK???!"

"So...you like him?" Sakura asked with a smile on her face.

"Well...I don't know," Tomoyo said in deep thought, "he's attractive, and smart and nice and athletic but...we're basically just friends"

"So, why did you kiss him then?" Sakura asked quite confused.

"Because...I don't know. I guess I sort of have a 'thing' for him but...as I told you before. We were under mistletoe. It's tradition."

"Does he have a crush on you?" Sakura asked with curiosity.

"I don't know. He's been acting a little strangely since the party but...not really. He still has Mazuki-Sensei. I don't think he has a crush on me or anything..."

"I see." Sakura smiled, satisfied that Tomoyo had told her how she felt. Now a look of slyness was on Tomoyo’s face.

“And what were you up to with MR.YOU-KNOW-WHO?”

Sakura blinked in confusion, “What do you mean?”

“You know…that guy you were dancing with at the party…there was obviously something going on between you two!” Tomoyo reminded.

“Um…what ever are you talking about?” Sakura asked shyly. Now it was HER turn to blush.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know! I told you my story, now it’s your turn to tell me yours!”

Sakura sighed, ”Ok….fine. I’ll tell you.” Sakura said with hesitance.

“His name is Nasaki Micheru. We talked a bit. I really like him. He seems nice.” Sakura said simply.

Tomoyo shook her head, “He is pretty attractive and he is popular. But, Sakura he’s not your type.”

Sakura’s face showed an expression of disbelief. “W-What do you mean not my type?!”

Tomoyo scratched her head trying to figure out how to explain herself without hurting Sakura's feelings, “Well…he’s a bad influence. He’s so….I don’t know. He’s like this gangster kind of…”

Sakura frowned, ”Oh, I understand…”

“You do?” Tomoyo smiled feeling glad she didn’t have to explain.

“Yes. You don’t want me to be happy! You’re just jealous! There is nothing wrong Micheru! You just want me to be lonely and have no one!” Sakura screamed in anger.

“N-No! Sakura that’s not what I—“ Tomoyo squealed in her own defense.

“You know, I didn’t say anything about you and Eriol! I was happy for you! Why can’t you just be happy for me?! I finally have someone who loves me and you put me down! I thought you were my friend!”

Tomoyo sat in surprise not understanding why sweet and kind Sakura was acting that way.

“Well I like him! He’s my boyfriend and I’m his girlfriend so live with it! I am going out with him whether you like it or not!” Sakura screamed, grabbed her bag and stormed away. Tomoyo just sat staring behind her friend in astonishment.

She then sighed "Oh Sakura-chan....if only you knew who really loves you..."

Chapter 46: Denying a Kiss

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 22 June 2002 09:48 PM)

Sakura is storming steadily down the street, feeling very angry at her best friend.

'Tomoyo-chan isn't even happy for me. How can she say that about Micheru-kun?!' she asked herself with narrowed eyes. 'Sure, he's strange, but he seems nice. So I like him.' she nodded in agreement with herself and stopped running.

'Hey! Wait up sexy thang!' she heard a strained voice come from behind her; it was Micheru. 'How's it hanging chicky-poo?'

Sakura frowns slightly at his strange choice of words but smiles. 'Oh, hi Micheru-kun, how are you? I'm fine thank you.'

'Yeah, all's good,' he replied casually, slinging an arm around her shoulder. 'Wanna go for something to eat?'

'S-Sure,' she answered with a bright smile. 'Where do you want to go?'

'He-ey...there's this really hot joint around the corner,' he gestured forward, 'let's go.'

*

Sakura is carted down by Micheru to the burger stand. Sakura wonders if it is good and hygienic, so she simply refuses to eat anything from there.

'How's it?' he said smugly to the guy behind the stand, smacking a high-five with him.

'Exnay on the Oopinstay,' the guy muttered, so Micheru went to chat with him privately out of Sakura's ear shot.

'We've got some stash from the you-know-where,' he mumbled dryly.

Micheru nods and returns to Sakura with a smirk. 'Hey, you wanna get out of here? Wanna come over to my place?'

Sakura feels odd at this question but doesn't see the hurt in it and says yes.

*

They enter his apartment, which is far from clean. Micheru's mother is out gambling, but Sakura doesn't know about that.

They sit on the couch, Micheru pushes away some empty cans. He slumps an arm around her shoulder, grinning slyly.

'So...' he began, leaning his face closer to hers. 'Wanna make out?'

Sakura's eyes widen as she stares at his lips that are growing closer to hers. She jerks away, pulling out of his arms and standing up again, blushing furiously.

'Micheru-kun,' she started, holding her hands together tightly, 'You're very nice...but I don't feel it's right...we've only just started going out and...well...you understand?'

Micheru sighs stiffly, seeming very pissed off but smiles anyway. 'Sure...whatever...when you're ready...?'

Sakura bobs her head, 'I need to go home now, ok? I'll see you later.'

'Of course, babe,' he responded heavily, his hands gripping tightly to the sofa.

Sakura bows and exits the door.

*

Sakura is running madly down the street, it is getting quite dark out. Her heart is beating very fast.

'Why couldn't I...?' she puffed, still running. 'Why did I refuse to kiss him?! Some girlfriend I am making...' she scolded herself, slowing down, she rests to take deep breathes.

An image of Syaoran suddenly appears in her mind, and her eyes grow watery, she's not sure if it is even relevant to her situation.

'Syaoran...' she whispered, looking up to the bright, orange sky. 'Why do you hate me...?'

*

Syaoran is sitting alone on his front porch, staring up at the setting sun. A single arm shielding his eyes from its radiance, he stares at it nonetheless.

'Sakura...' he moaned, seeing her in the very clouds he was beholding in their bright yellow reflections. 'Why...?'

Chapter 47: Ski Trip (Part 1)

(by Melissa, added on 30 June 2002 12:07 AM)

It is several weeks later and the annual Tomeda High ski trip for the grade 8's has almost arrived. Sakura and Tomoyo had finally made up and were friends as usual.

Sakura sat on the living room sofa wiping the sweat off her head.

"Finally...I'm done packing...."Sakura panted.

"Good! I can't wait till we go skiing tomorrow!" Tomoyo said ecstatically. Sakura then turned to glance at the 3 bags beside Tomoyo, "Are you sure you need ALL those stuff?" Sakura asked emphasizing on the 'all'.

Tomoyo shrugged, "You can never be too prepared!"

Sakura sighed glancing at her own two bags,"..Maybe I need a few more stuff..."

"Well...did you remember your toothbrush, or your snow boots?"

Sakura blushed, "Um..."

"What about your hat? Or gloves? Or scarf? Or brush? Or underw--"

"TOMOYO!" Sakura scolded, "I forgot...but stop nagging at me..."

Tomoyo giggled, "Sure, sure. Aren't we staying overnight at the ski resort??"

"Yah..." Sakura sighed, "It's going to be cold. I hope those cabins have heating."

"I know! We'll be out all day! Skiing and stuff. I hope they have ski lifts."

"Tomoyo-chan...I don't know how to ski. I've only gone cross-country but never downhill."

"You'll learn...what about Syaoran...he doesn't--"

Sakura's eyes began to water, "Tomoyo...you're talking about him again..."

Tomoyo immediately hushed up.

"Um...I'll just...help you pack..."Tomoyo said sadly.

*******Li's Mansion***

Syaoran sighed gloomily as he stared hard at the bluish-brown teddy bear in his hand.

'You miss her...don't you?' asked a voice in his head.

"What do u mean 'miss her'?" Syaoran asked feeling a little odd about talking to himself again. He was begging to think he would need some serious therapy.

'You haven't spoke to her in weeks, therefore you miss her. Why don't you just talk to Sakura tomorrow?' the voice explained.

"W-Why? She doesn't love me.." Syaoran said sadly, tears forming around his eyes.

'No, but by not talking to her, you will not solve your problems. The ski trip may give you a chance to bond with her a bit...'

Syaoran shrugged, "You're right...maybe I will...I guess..."

With that the voice disappeared.

"Maybe I should...just talk to her..."Syaoran sighed heavily and stood up to place the bear on the shelf.

"What have I got to loose?"

Chapter 48: Talking to Yourself Really Works

(by Engetsu, added on 30 June 2002 06:42 AM)

Sakura giggled with Tomoyo as they rushed towards the coach all the kids were going to the ski resort on. It was first class, with seating put into fours with a table in the centre

Tomoyo and Sakura were first in once everyone was allowed and instantly grabbed a window seat. She sat happily chatting a moment then stood up and waved for Eriol to sit with them, which he happily did dragging his traveling partner with him.

Syaoran slumped in his chair sulkily then noticed Sakura looking sadly out the window.

As the coach started up he leant across the table between them and said "Hey Sakura,"

Tomoyo and Eriol stared at Syaoran a moment before shrugging and continuing their conversation, Sakura however looked up at Syaoran and blinked.

"You okay Sakura?" he asked when she didn't reply.

Sakura shook her head as if coming out of a dream then nodded enthusiastically "I'm fine Syaoran! Fine!"

He flushed a bit "Good...Sakura..."

She smiled happily now that Syaoran was talking to her again "This is your first time skiing it's it Syaoran?"

He nodded "Hai..."

"Don't worry, it's fun!" she giggled.

Syaoran nodded then glanced across at hearing Yamazaki's voice, he blinked then listened in on another of his stories.

"And the origin of skiing came from the ancient Celts who used to strap wood to their boots and ski down hills as part of their Winter Solstice rituals! And the actual ski resort came from..."

"Li! He's lying!" Chiharu called before strangling Yamazaki, who rather handily was beside her.

Syaoran looked back to see Sakura smiling sweetly and looking much happier.

'Talking to yourself really works,' he thought to himself then sighed and settled back into his seat.

Chapter 49: Arriving

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 2 July 2002 06:51 AM)

After the long trip in the bus, the whole class, in single file, made their way out of the bus and slowly proceeded towards the large log cabin.

The teacher led the way, hurriedly ushering everyone inside so he could explain to them what they were doing and then mount up their skiing equipment for fun to begin.

'This is exciting!' Sakura whispered to Chiharu who was still peeved at Yamazaki's tall tale.

'Yes, it is!' Chiharu said, glaring at her reluctant on/off boyfriend. 'If we can keep our minds in reality...'

'I love your coat Sakura-chan, where did you get it?' Rika asked Sakura, admiring her pale pink jacket, complimented with a yellow star along the coat collar.

'Oh, Tomoyo-chan made it for me. She is very talented.' Sakura giggled, allowing Tomoyo to turn as pink as her coat.

'Yes, fine craftsmanship,' Eriol said in a deep voice, so that only Tomoyo could hear. He grabs her around the waist.

Tomoyo laughs freely, as Terada Sensei tasks and pushes them ahead.

All the while, Syaoran has been staring from behind the small group, glad they were talking again.

'Sakura's such a wonderful person...' he told himself, agreeing all the way, 'I wonder if I should tell her how I feel...'

Sakura swivels around quickly, squeezing through her friends so she can walk next to Syaoran. She graces him with a sweet smile and his cheeks flush brightly.

'Syaoran-kun, this will be fun. I can teach you how to ski if you want,' she offered politely, surprising him by grabbing his hand and squeezing it playfully.

And that is what had come to make Syaoran love her so much; she was so sweet and friendly, she would do almost anything to please and make others smile. She was the kind of person that lit up a room in their very presence.

They exchange smiles and sigh blissfully as they enter the comfort of the large warm lodge entrance.

It is large, the windows are dimmed due to double panning, the walls seem to be covered in a lovely deep red velvet and the floors are covered with thick royal blue carpets. A bear skin lies in front of a large area of cushy chairs in front of an open fire.

After Terada explains some rules and conditions on safety and such, everyone begins to put on their skiing equipment.

Sakura is wearing knee-high pink fluffy ski boots and matching track pants that hug her slim figure perfectly. Tomoyo is wearing similar clothing, except they are a deep purple.

Syaoran and Eriol stand beside each other, blushing mildly at the pretty girls before them. Sakura enthusiastically grabs for her skis and ski guards, humming "Purachina" to herself as everyone follows after her.

She is on a total adrenalin rush as she leads them all outside in a long row of colors. She enjoys the feeling of leadership.

'I can't wait to get to the "Double Black Diamond,' Sakura explained to Naoko, who was just as pumped up as she was.

'Ooh, and the "Chicky-chokou",' Naoko replied, her brown eyes sparkling in anticipation. 'Can't wait!'

'What are they?' Syaoran wondered, edging up to Sakura's side.

'Oh, I forgot you haven't come here before, Syaoran-kun,' Sakura said, 'They are names for different courses. The "Double Black Diamond" is that mountain up there.' she directed her arm up in front of them.

Syaoran follows her finger, and then suddenly gasps, gawking at the terrifyingly large and particularly STEEP hill. Or logically speaking, MOUNTAIN.

'Gah!' he jerked his head to the side.

'Oh, do you think you could do that?' Eriol said, catching up to them with Tomoyo, 'I here those who complete it successfully will have their wish granted...' he leaned over and whispered in Syaoran's ear, 'What is your wish?'

Tomoyo is doing her little Santa Claus act, understanding everything. And everyone but Sakura and Syaoran are chuckling.

Sakura tilts her head to the side like a puppy and says, 'Hoe? What wish?'

'N-Nothing!' Syaoran assured that there wasn't a wish in reason, waving it off and looking away before he fainted from over heating, even though they were in minus weather.

'Well, only one way to find out if you're up to it, Li-kun,' Chiharu, now over her steaming smiled over at Yamazaki.

'Did you know that mountains were originally the thick fringe hairs of ice giants?' he began in a sing-song tone.

'Really?' Sakura and Syaoran said in unison, sounding very interested.

'Ahuh, the giants loved to have wrestling matches. And each time one was triumphant, it would pluck out a fringe hair and place it deep into the earth, showing that it had claimed victory in that very spot.' he nodded, glad he had wrapped listeners.

'Stop it! He's lying again!' Chiharu gasped incredulously, 'I can't believe you actually believe this baka!' she punched Yamazaki in the arm.

'Ow...' he whined, sulkily frowning down at the girl of his affections. 'I was only trying to be interesting...'

'Uh...I knew he was making it up...' Sakura said over to Syaoran, a sweat drop on the back of her head.

'Yeah, just wanted to make him feel good,' Syaoran agreed abruptly, looking away from her dazzling green eyes.

'Ooh, wonder what's happening here,' Rika and Naoko winked at each other.

'Hoe?”

Chapter 50: The Perfect Storm

(by Melissa, added on 4 July 2002 10:01 PM)

Sakura blinked in confusion wondering why everyone was laughing at her.

"Why are you all...laughing?" Sakura asked wondering what was going on.

"NOTHING!" everyone snapped in unison sharing sly glances and trying to hold back a giggle.

Sakura shrugged and picked up her ski polls.

"Well, lets go!" Sakura said enthusiastically before sliding to the ground.

"OOOOW!" Sakura squealed rubbing her side.

Tomoyo giggled.

"You just need a little bit more practice...that's all." Tomoyo reassured helping her friend up kindly.

"Thanks Tomoyo." Sakura sighed cheerfully.

Eriol walked up to them smiling kindly,"Sakura, what do you say we all go and practice a bit and then take on the mountain if you want?"Eriol suggested uncertainly.

Sakura beamed, "That's a great idea! You always think of the greatest ideas!" Sakura gazed at Eriol in awe. Syaoran groaned angrily, his face turning red in jealousy.

"I have great ideas too, you know!" Syaoran grunted under his breath.

Tomoyo, Eriol, Chiharu, Naoko, Takashi and Rika all giggled at Syaoran's growing jealousy. Sakura just blinked in more confusion.

"What IS so funny?" Sakura asked emphasizing on the 'is' while tapping her foot.

Takashi chuckled "Er...Sakura...I think Syaoran here is a tad 'uneasy' with how you are constantly admiring Eriol."

Syaoran shot him a death glare.

Sakura blinked again in confusion then turned to Syaoran and smiled, "Oh! Syaoran don't worry! I don't have a crush on Eriol! Remember, I do have a boyfriend!" Sakura giggled as she turned to walk away. Syaoran suddenly felt his heart sink. He had forgotten about Micheru. Takashi shrugged, "That wasn't what I meant..."

*

The gang stood at the top of a very tiny usagi hill.

Sakura, and Syaoran stood uneasily ready to ski down. Sakura was eager to try it while Syaoran on the other had was sweating in fear. Eriol stood assuring behind them ready to assist since he was an advanced skier.

"Well...why don't I go first to show them how it's done?" Tomoyo suggested kindly.

Syaoran nodded still in fear. "GO AHEAD! BE MY GUEST!! TAKE AS LONG AS YOU WOULD LIKE!!!!"

Tomoyo smiled sweetly and then was off. The wind blowing past her as she daintily glided down the hill and then making an almost perfect stop at the base. The group applauded gazing admiringly.

"Ok," Eriol said turning to Syaoran, "Your turn."

Syaoran sweat dropped, "Uh...well um..."

"Are you...tori (chicken)? BAK BAK BAK!!" Eriol cued making flapping motions with his arms.

Syaoran frowned and bent over in a pro-skier fashion as if he was a professional skier in the Olympics.

"NO WAY!" Syaoran shouted back ready to go. In 5 seconds flat he was off skiing down the hill in top speed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" Syaoran hollered in sheer terror as his skis and his polls went out of control.

Chiharu sweat dropped going all beady-eyed, "Um...maybe...downhill skiing isn't his thing..."

Takashi shook his head, "I don't think ANY winter sport is his thing."

Syaoran's eyes grew wide in fear as snow blew past him in flurries as he continued down the slippery slope at incredulous speed.

"HHHHHHHHEEELLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He begged eagerly as he began to approach a very large and frightfully thick tree.

Sakura gasped covering her eyes, not wanting to see what she expected to see. Eriol immediately sped down the mountain, swerving in front of Syaoran before he hit the tree.

*

Syaoran slowly opened his eyes to see himself lying on a mound of snow in front of the tree with Eriol and Tomoyo hovering over him.

"What do YOU want?" Syaoran asked grudgingly trying to pick himself up.

"Eriol here just saved your life!" Tomoyo said gazing at Eriol as if he was the most heroic person in the world.

Syaoran rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Yah...sure...thanks."

Sakura suddenly appeared behind Tomoyo.

"You skied down here by your self?" Tomoyo asked admirably.

"Yep!" Sakura said with glee, proud that she had done it on her own.

"HEY! SYAORAN ARE YOU OK?! I WAS SO WORRIED!!" Sakura exclaimed in a caring yet worried way.

Syaoran smiled with a tad of red in his face and flusteredness in his voice. "Um...yah..I'm...uh...fine. Thanks for caring." Syaoran said quickly looking away.

Sakura then gasped and an expression of surprise appeared on her face. "I ALMOST FORGOT! LET'S GO SKI DOWN DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND!!" Sakura proclaimed ecstatically.

At that point, Takashi, Naoko, Rika and Chiharu had skied down the hill. Everyone exchanged glances of concern and worry.

"Um..Sakura..." Rika sweat dropped, "Are you sure you're ready for that mountain? You are just a beginner..." .

Sakura shook her head, "I'm fine! I can ski it easy! I skied down this!"

Chiharu's face began to show a stern look of concern.

"Sakura...The Double Black Mountain is VERY different from the Usagi hill. It's large and steep and you're not very experienced with downhill skiing..."

Naoko smiled slyly, "And on the trails , I've heard there are also lots of ghosts..."

Sakura's face turned pale,"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sakura screamed in bloody-murder as she covered her ears.

"NO! NO! STOP IT!!! YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO SCARE ME!!!" Sakura screamed shaking her head ferociously, She quickly grabbed her ski polls and headed up the usagi hill and towards the mountain.

"I'M SKIING IT AND THAT'S THAT!!" Sakura was off in a flash.

Eriol shook his head and started after her.

"I better follow her.." Eriol sighed as he started up the hill.

Syaoran groaned and got ready to stammer after him, "No! WAIT! I'M COMING TOO!" both in jealousy and in fear of Sakura's safety.

Takashi grabbed his arm to hold him back. "Oh no Mr. Envy! You aren't going any where in your condition!!"

DON'T PISS ME OFF YAMAZAKI! LET GO!" Syaoran ordered angrily.

Tomoyo grabbed his other arm trying to calm him down, "He's right! You are too weak right now! Sakura's going to be alright, okay? Eriol is going to protect her from harm, he's a pretty good skier." she sighed blushing.

"I know! That's why I have to go too!" Syaoran turned even more red in rage still struggling to get free.

"Look! Eriol isn't going to make a move on Sakura and besides he's already going steady with me!" Tomoyo blurted out trying to get him to calm down.

All went silent. Syaoran paused and everyone started to stare at Tomoyo with sly smiles on their faces. Tomoyo clapped her hands over her mouth realizing what she had just said.

"Going steady, eh?" Takashi asked slyly.

"Um.." Tomoyo flustered blushing shyly, "Well...uh..."

Chiahru giggled, "Since when?"

Tomoyo shrugged still blushing quite hard, "He asked me out last week...he said that things didn't work out with Mazuki-Sensei and he likes..."

Rika giggled, "I knew something was going on..."

"Alright everyone please head for the cabins for lunch!" boomed Terada-Sensei's loud voice.

Everyone rushed inside eagerly ready to eat.

*

Sakura began skiing up a long trail which lead up to the mountain--for the ski lifts were not operating at that time.

"Sakura...are you sure we should go up this particular trail?" Eriol asked uncertainly.

"Hai! I'm positive this leads to the top of the mountain." Sakura said determainedly as she struggled up the steep trail.

Eriol shrugged following her up the trail, sensing something bad was going to happen.

*

"And so, that is how crabs got that hard shell." Takashi said, confidently concluding another one of his tall-tales.

Syaoran sat with his jaw dropped and staring in disbelief, "Wow! Really? That's so cool!"

Chiharu sighed, "Takashi...when will you tell the 'truth' for once?"

Rika giggled wiping her mouth with a napkin. "Well! I'm done eating my lunch."

"Same here." agreed Tomoyo.

"Hey, how about we go outside and have a snowball fight?" Naoko suggested.

"Sure!" agreed Takashi and Chiharu in unison.

"How about you Syaoran?" Naoko asked.

"Yah...sure, I guess." Syaoran shrugged. "But...I hate the cold weather...and I hate snow, and I hate cold...never mind...I'll just stay here."

"Coming Tomoyo? Rika?" asked Chiharu.

Tomoyo shook her head, "No...I'd rather refrain from any physical activity. I hate running, walking, and moving unless it involves video taping or making clothes and---"

"Nevermind! Rika how about you?" Takashi interrupted desperately eager to go outside.

"Nah. Snowball fighting is way too childish for my liking. I'll just sit here and read." Rika replied lazily as she took out a novel with a fancy cover.

"Well, then lets go!" proclaimed Takashi racing outside, and Chiharu and Naoko trailing close behind.

*

"DAMN! We've been skiing up this thing forever!" Eriol spluttered tiredly.

"Yeah...maybe this was a bad idea. I mean, I'm hungry, tired, cold and this thing is as big as Mount Fuji!!" Sakura sighed sleepily and shivering slightly.

"No..."said Eriol shaking his head, "Mount Fuji is an understatement. TRY MOUNT EVEREST!!!" Eriol shouted angrily creating a tiny avalanche.

Sakura sighed as she reached into the tiny bag on her back. "Well...anyways, I luckily brought a bento. It's got a bit of vegetable sushi, shrimp, rice balls and manju...I think it's enough for the both of us."

Eriol shook his head, "No...you have it. I'll be fine, and no I'm not allergic."

Sakura shrugged, "I don't feel right not giving you any...just take something!"

Eriol shook his head, "Trust me. I'll be fine."

Suddenly flakes of snow gradually fell from the sky.

Sakura tilted her head to the side in wonder, "That's odd...how it suddenly started to snow like that."

Eriol stared ahead hard: his eyes seeming distant as he stared with seriousness in his face, "Yes...that is strange..."

*

"OW!!!!" hollered Takashi as he lied on the ground in agony.

"Gotcha! ha ha! You're so easy!" Chiharu laughed as she and Naoko pelted him with another snowball.

"Ok!Ok! RETREAT!!!! RETREAT!!!!!" Takashi bellowed covering his head in fear he was going to buried in a bed of snow.

Suddenly, rushing from out of the cabin came Terada-Sensei once again--this time his face was covered in deep anxiety and sweat as if he was in deep panic.

Terada suddenly blew a loud ear-piercing whistle.

"ATTENTION! STUDENTS! PLEASE! QUICKLY MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE CABINS!! A MAJORLY DISASTROUS SNOW STORM A.K.A BLIZZARD IS GOING TO PASS THROUGH THIS AREA!!"

All the students raced eagerly into the cabin.

*In CABIN*

Syaoran and Tomoyo sat at the table playing 'Go Fish' with a deck of cards.

"HA! 8 of spades!" Syaoran shouted.

"Gomen. Go fish." Tomoyo replied simply.

"D-Demo(but)...I don't have any more cards!" Syaoran replied dementedly.

"Oh...well, I guess I win! ha ha ha!!" Tomoyo giggled frantically.

"DDDDAAAAAAAAARRRG!!!!!!!!" Syaoran groaned in despair, "THAT'S IT! I QUIT! I'M NOT PLAYING ANYMORE!!" Syaoran threw the cards into the air. "Where is Sakura?!!"

"She has been taking pretty long, demo," Tomoyo sighed, "Why don't you just tell her you love her?"

Syaoran slapped his forehead, "How many times have I told you to stop talking to me!!" Syaoran shouted angrily at himself.

Tomoyo's eyes widened in shock, "um...Sumimasen(Parden me)?"

Syaoran blushed in embarrassment realizing to whom was REALLY taking to him, "Um...gomen...I thought you were--never mind."

Tomoyo lifted an eyebrow, "I see...so why don't you tell her?"

Syaoran blushed harder," W-What does it matter! Why are you even bringing her up?!"

"Actually...you brought her up with 'Where's Sakura'..." Tomoyo corrected matter-of-factly.

"Shut up!" Syaoran grumbled with a pout on his all ready red face.

Rika and Naoko smiled as they listened to their rather interesting conversation.

Suddenly a mob of students stampeded trough the cabin doors.

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!"a bunch of kids shouted frantically.

"We're going to die!!!" screamed another.

Rika blinked in confusion.

"What do you mean?!!" Syaoran asked puzzled.

Takashi shook nervously, "A large blizzard is headed this way! Snow! Wind! Lightning! The works!" Takashi shouted his arms waving around to show actions.

Syaoran shook his head as he folded his arms, "Ok...I'm definitely not believing you this time!"

Chiharu shook her head as sweat dripped from her face, "No! Takashi's telling the truth! A BLIZZARD IS RUNNING THROUGH HERE!! WE'RE EXPECTING TO BE SNOWED IN AND HAVE A POWER OUTAGE!!!!"

Rika,  Syaoran and Tomoyo gawked at Chiharu, their eyes widening and their mouths falling open in absolute astonishment.

"OH NO!" Tomoyo said ready to begin panicking.

Syaoran stared blankly still stunned.

"But...what about Sakura! SHE'S STILL OUT THERE!!!!" Syaoran shouted in a frenzy.

"SHE'S ON THAT BLOODY MOUNTAIN!!!" Syaoran shouted on the top of his lungs in rage.

Tomoyo motioned him to hush, "Syaoran...watch your language the senseis will hear you!"

"GOOD! LET THEY HEAR ME!!" Shouted Syaoran as her dashed off to where Terada was standing.

"He's lost it." Naoko sighed sadly.

"TERADA-SENSEI!" Syaoran shouted in frustration.

"H-Hai L-Li-Kun?" the teacher asked surprised by the anger in Syaoran's voice.

"SAKURA IS STILL ON THAT MOUNTAIN...WITH THAT BAKA HIIRAGASIWA!!!"Syaoran bellowed ready to explode.

Terada stared in shock but frowned, "I'll ignore the fact that you called a fellow pupil baka, but what do you mean 'still on the mountain'?"

"The Double Black Mountain!!" Syaoran shouted.

"THE WHAT?!! BUT THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! THAT MOUNTAIN WAS OUT OF BOUNDS! OFF LIMITS!! " Terada said quite flabbergasted.

"WELL THEY ARE THERE!!" Tomoyo shouted panicking in worry.

"Did you try to stop them?!!" Terada asked also beginning to panic.

"Oh yeah!" Naoko said sweat dropping as she remembered what had happened.

*FLASHBACK*

Sakura then gasped and an expression of surprise appeared on her face. "I ALMOST FORGOT! LET'S GO SKI DOWN DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND!!" Sakura proclaimed ecstatically.

At that point, Takashi, Naoko, Rika and Chiharu had skied down the hill. Everyone exchanged glances of concern and worry.

"Um..Sakura..." Rika sweat dropped, "Are you sure you're ready for that mountain? You are just a beginner..."

Sakura shook her head, "I'm fine! I can ski it easy! I skied down this!"

Chiharu's face began to show a stern look of concern.

"Sakura...The Double Black Mountain is VERY different from the Usagi hill.

It's large and steap and you're not very experienced with downhill skiing..."

"NO! NO! STOP IT!!! YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO SCARE ME!!!" Sakura screamed shaking her head furociously, She quickly grabbed her ski polls and headed up the usagi hill and towards the mountain.

"I'M SKIING IT AND THAT'S THAT!!" Sakura was off in a flash.

*END FLASHBACK*

"Imagine what those two are doing...alone...in the mountains...ALONE...." Takashi said nudging Syaoran with a smirk on his face. This time Syaoran AND Tomoyo had turned red in anger.

"THAT'S ENOUGH YAMAZAKI! THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT THE TIME FOR JOKES!" Shouted Terada sternly.

"WELL! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?! CAN WE GO LOOK FOR THEM?!" Syaoran asked desperate to see Sakura again safe and well.

"OH ABSOLUTELY NOT! WE CAN'T TAKE ANY CHANCES! WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR A SEARCH PARTY AND HOPE FOR THE BEST!"

Syaoran groaned. It felt as though he had had a blow to his stomach. He felt a bitter pain in his gut as he imagined poor Sakura, shivering in the cold, covered in snow, in some dark, freaky mountain all alone...with Eriol.
