Chapter 27: Final Judgment…AGAIN??!!!,( part 3)

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 11 June 2002 07:32 AM)

Syaoran stood upon Tokyo Tower, glaring hard at Hue, preparing to take out his current Moon-drop cards.

'Spike,' he said, raising the card to his sword, 'TAKE HIM OUT!'

Spike shot millions of shards of glass, soaring with rapid speed towards Hue.

Hue scoffs smugly, with a swish of her cape, the shards scattered and disappeared.

'Pathetic,' she sneered, forming a silver arrow in her hand. 'You should know that Spike is one of the weakest cards...'

Syaoran gasps, rummaging in his pockets and pulls out the card they had captured the previous day. He examines the name in a hurry; it says "Clone".

'Clone Card!' he ordered with a deep voice, 'Duplicate me three fold! CLONE!'

Blue lights begin to flicker around Syaoran; he begins to glow white, and as he closes his eyes, ghostly images of himself float out of him. They form into solid bodies, all identical to him from their hair to their robes.

Syaoran nods over to his other three selves, ready to fight together.

'Yah!' Syaoran yelled, taking the first move, he swung with his sword towards Hue with great force.

Hue smirks, easily dodging the attacks.

'Weakling,' she cackled, sending an icee arrow towards Syaoran.

One of Syaoran's clones jumped in front of him, taking the arrow and he suddenly vanished.

The remaining two clones gasped. Syaoran signals them to attack. They obey and run forward, swords raised and ready.

'Fire-spout Card!' Syaoran called, taking out another Moon-drop card, 'SURROUND!'

The fire burned like the anger in his heart. Hurting Sakura was the wrong thing to do...Hue was going to pay dearly!

'Hah! You think this simple magic can defeat me?!' Hue snickered, sending the Fire back to Syaoran.

Syaoran's twins attacked Hue, slashing their swords along his back and head.

He smirks, punching them both in the stomachs, they vanish.

'No!' Syaoran cried, a hand out reached for it was if a part of himself had been destroyed. 'You...' his amber eyes narrowed.

'Ooh, I'm afraid...' Hue mocked, her eyes flickering maliciously.

'Vine Card!' Syaoran snapped, 'Entangle her! VINE!'

The Vine spirit, which resembled The Wood, flew towards Hue, her brilliant blue tails of vines soaring behind her.

'No! Stop!' Hue commanded, and The Vine stopped in midair, spun around and directed herself at Syaoran, surrounding him in a great tangle.

'No! You...' Syaoran gasped, struggling against Vine and staring in disbelief. 'No...'

Syaoran turns his head weakly down at where the others were standing and watching, Sakura still lay unconscious on the ground.

Syaoran feels tears rise to his eyes, knowing the outcome...

'It's just like before,' Tomoyo sighed sadly, 'as if we won't remember any of this...'

Cerberus nods his head wisely, frowing his big great lion's head. 'Yes...'

'No...it can't be...' Heather breathed in shock, staring down at her deck of cards, 'we'll all forget...I'll lose the cards...they are everything to me...' she ran over to the invisible barrier and began pounding at it madly. 'NO! I CAN'T LOSE THEM! NOT NOW! NOOO!'

Meiling was sobbing dramatically in her corner, her tears dotting the cement beneath them. 'S-Syaoran-kun...don't g-give up...'

'Li-kun!' Tomoyo cried, running over to the barrier and pressing her hands against it, 'DON'T LOSE! SAKURA-CHAN NEEDS YOU! PLEASE! NO!' she began to cry heavily, sliding the the floor beside Heather.

Syaoran looks blurrily at them as Vine is nearly concealing his whole body. He looks angrily back at Hue.

Hue begins to laugh darkly, her arms crossed. 'And so it ends...' s he gave Syaoran one last evil grin.

'No...' Syaoran let out a faint breath of air, before he closed his eyes, and his world went black...

Chapter 28: The Final Judgment...AGAIN?! (Part 4)

(by Melissa, added on 11 June 2002 07:13 PM)

Sakura raced down the stairs, grabbed her bag and raced out the door.

"Bye dad!" Sakura called as another school day began, and as usual she was late. She slipped on her roller blades , elbow, knee and wrist guards and dashed down the street.

When she finally got to class everyone was seated and class was about to begin. Sakura plopped into her seat and gave a sigh of relief.

"Oh, I am so glad I'm not very late this time."

Tomoyo giggled, "Youre getting better Sakura! Remember, school starts at 7:00."

They both laughed at the thought. Suddenly Mr.Terada, their teacher pounded into the room. He stood at his desk and eyed each of the students in the room.

Another day had began. Sakura noticed Syaoran sitting behind her and grinned.

"Hey Syaoran! Thanks for last night!"

Syaoran stared at her strangely. A couple of girls sitting around them giggled.

"Last night, huh?" Said a girl wickedly.

"What happened? Anything we should know about? Anything personal?" asked another.

Sakura blushed, "huh...oh...OOOH!! NO NO!! I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!!" Sakura squealed feeling so embarrassed.

The girls kept on giggling.

"Yah! Suure." One said sarcastically.

"Girls! I am teaching a lesson! Please face the front and keep quiet!" bellowed Mr. Tereda.

All the students immediately turned around and kept quiet, but Sakura was sure she could still hear them snickering at her.

Syaoran stared intently at the back of her head feeling that all this was some how familiar, but he couldn't understand what it was that made it so. Syaoran turned to glance at Meiling, then Tomoyo. Obviously they had not noticed something strange about this day, but maybe Sakura did.

***Lunch Break ****

Sakura and Tomoyo sat eating their lunch peacefully. Sakura had just gone to baton practice so she was still dressed in her uniform.

"So...don't you think that Yugi is so hot?" Tomoyo asked Sakura, eyes sparkling.

"The boy from science class?? Well...maybe, but Tomoyo it's not like you to talk about boys like that." Sakura said simply.

"Well...things change. By the way, is everyone coming to the Bear Convention tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I think. Eriol is going for sure...Li-Chan and Li-kun might."

Soccer!

Syaoran sauntered over to Sakura and Tomoyo, his face full of seriousness as usual. He turned to Sakura and frowned.

"Kinimoto-chan...do you sense something 'unusual' about today?" Syaoran asked.

Sakura stared strangely at him, "What do you mean?" she questioned.

"Well...is it just me...or did everything that happened today already happen?"

Sakura and Tomoyo stared at each other and then at Syaoran.

"I think...it's just you." Sakura said undoubtedly.

"No...I don't think there's anything different." said Tomoyo agreeing with Sakura.

"Wait! It was last night! Remember? The final judgment and Hue? The moon-drop cards?"

Sakura lifted an eyebrow, "What are you talking about??! What's a moon-drop card?! Who's Hue? I don't remember a final judgment! Are you trying to mess with my mind?!" Sakura stared at Syaoran as if he was a walking, talking potato.

"Oh...yes...I remember...it was supposed to remove your memory..." Syaoran sighed and ran away at top speed.

Syaoran found himself in the park where by himself he could think.

"I... don't....understand...How come I remember...and no one else..."

Syaoran sat on the ground thinking hard in confusion and bewilderment.

Suddenly Syaoran heard something.

"Li-Kun! Li-Kun!" a voice cried in distress.

"What?! Who--?" Syaoran was confused, "Kinomoto?!"

"SYAORAN!! SYAORAN!! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US!!" hollered someone else.

"SNAP OUT OF IT!!"

"COME ON! WAKE UP!"

Syaoran scratched his head.

"Wait...Heather?! Meiling?! Where are you?!!" Syaoran shifted nervously, sweat dripping down his face not certain what was going on---fearing he was going insane.

**Flash Back***

Hue begins to laugh darkly, her arms crossed. 'And so it ends...' she gave Syaoran one last evil grin.

'No...' Syaoran let out a faint breath of air, before he closed his eyes, and his world went black...

***END OF FLASHBACK***

Syaoran opened his eyes, still confused about what was happening.

Suddenly he noticed his surroundings had changed.

"W-Where am I?!"

Syaoran found himself entangled in vines and thorns. He was way up on top of some sort of tower. Across from him was a tall being with a long white dress with golden embroidery around it, her head with long golden hair.

"Come on Syaoran! Please don't let us down!" Screamed someone from below. Syaoran looked down seeing none other than Meiling, Heather, Sakura and his mother and sisters all looking up at him in panic. He looked back up to see Hue standing tall and still.

"Li-Kun, Hue controls the vine card and used it back at you and you nearly lost! Mazuki-Sensei used her magical bell to give you a second chance!" Sakura looked up at him, her eyes watering and face full of fear, worry and concern.

Syaoran stared hard at her unsure of what she was talking about. Then it finally hit him. The kaho-bell had saved him and he was somehow given another chance at beating Hue.

"Alright Hue...YOU'RE GOING DOWN!!" Syaoran growled fiercely with pure confidence.

"WHAT?! IT CANNOT BE!!" Hue gasped in shock, "HOW COME YOU' RE STILL--"

Syaoran reached through the vines searching for his sword. Once he found it he snatched it up and sliced through the vines.

Thinking fast, Syaoran decided to weaken Hue first using his element cards, then using the actual moon-drop cards "FORCE KNOW MY PLIGHT! RELEASE THE LIGHT! LIGHTNING!!!"

A jolt of lightening struck into Hue's back leaving her stunned and in shock.

"AAAARRGHH!!!" Hue was nearly knocked off balance, unprepared for what had just happened.

"ICE CARD! FREEZE HUE INTO AN ICEBALL!!" Syaoran ordered.

The ice spirit flew out from the card blowing a hurl of ice concealing Hue into an iceball.

"NOOOOOO!" Was the last Hue squawked before fully imprisoned in a ball of solid ice.

"YES! HA! TAKE THAT!" Syaoran shouted in victory jumping up and down.

The ice covering Hue slowly melted away leaving puddles.

Hue walked up to Syaoran slouching. She bent over and knelt before him.

"Syaoran Li, you have defeated me. You have proven yourself worthy of ownership to these cards. You are the master, I am completely in your depth." She said solemnly, her head bowed.

Syaoran stared at her oddly surprised that she was not the bold vicious fiend she had appeared to be,

"Um...uh...you know, Hue, you...don't have to be like my servant or anything. Maybe you can just be my friend...or something?"

Hue looked up at him in surprise yet happiness.

"Very well, master. I shall do as you please."

Everyone below jumped up and down cheering and applauding.

Eventually Syaoran was lowered down and he stood before his friends and family.

"Thank you for everything." Syaoran said glad that he was the master of the cards--maybe not the Clow cards, but the moon-drop cards

Sakura ran up to Syaoran and hugged him, then playfully swung him around in circles. Giggling happily.

Sakura grinned delightfully, "Li-Kun! I'm soo glad you won! I could never be master of 2 cards!"

She swung him around so fast that he was hurled through the air and landed on the ground---hard.

"OH! GOMEN NE LI-KUN!" Sakura looked at him in panic.

Syaoran scratched his head, "I-It's okay. It's a good thing you're not hurt too much either" Syaoran said smiling at her kindly. Sakura stared in disbelief. Syaoran SMILED at her?!!!

Meiling ran up to him overjoyed and full of relief.

"Oh Syaoran I'm so glad you're okay!" Meiling cried, as she wrapped her arms around Syaoran, tears streaming down her face.

Meiling had not seen what had just happened. Tomoyo ran up with her video camera and smiled.

"Did I miss anything? It was really hard to video tape you guys from way up on the tower!"

Syaoran's sisters ran up to Syaoran anxiously.

"OH! ARE YOU OKAY LITTLE BROTHER?!!" said one.

"WE THOUGHT WE HAD LOST YOU!" said another.

Yelin looked down at her son proudly with a dainty smile across her face.

"Well done my son. Well done."

Kero came up, no longer in his true form, "Well I must say, I'm pretty impressed.

Not too bad, gaki. Even for you!"

Syaoran shot him a nasty glare.

"SHUT UP STUFFED ANIMAL!" Syaoran grumbled from under his breath.

Eventually the entire group was standing around Syaoran with overwhelming compassion. Syaoran had never felt so  cared for.

Sakura snapped her fingers.

"HOLD ON! KERO-CHAN! DOES THIS MEAN THAT LI-KUN HAS TO TRANSFORM THESE CARDS...INTO SYAORAN CARDS?!"

Chapter 29: New Master of Moon-drop Cards!

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 12 June 2002 06:56 AM)

Syaoran still can't believe he is now the new master of his own set of cards. He and the others return to Sakura's place to resume their sleepover. Eventually persuading him to stay. They spend an hour playing videogames with Kero-chan, and then watch a movie or too. (Basic, mushy love story because they are all girls apart from Syaoran)

While they all lounge around in front of the large plasma television, Sakura notices that Syaoran is still in shock.

'Li-kun, hey,' she said softly, catching his attention, 'Are you all right with this?'

He nods his head nervously, turning his head to her, 'Yeah...I'm fine.'

'It's scary - isn't it?' she asserted with a smirk, 'Feels strange?'

'Ahuh,' he agreed with her widely, 'I've never felt so much power...'

'They're special,' she said with a pleasant sigh, 'soon, they become like your family.'

Syaoran is astonished at how compassionate she is speaking about the cards. He takes a heavy breath and nods again.

Sakura giggles, placing a hand over her mouth, 'How kawaii!' she laughed, when a boy and a girl on the screen that suspiciously resembled Sakura and Syaoran kissed on the lips.

Syaoran gapes at the television and goes slightly pink. Clears his throat and looks back at her.

'Who picked this movie anyway?' he mumbled, pointing his thumb to the others.

'Oh, your cousin did,' Sakura shrugged, nodding over to Meiling whom was hugging a pillow tightly in her arms.

Syaoran shudders; glad it wasn't his arm she was hugging. 'Oh, ok.'

Sakura's expression suddenly turns serious. 'You know there will be another challenge...' she started, placing a hand on his shoulder.

'Huh?' he gasped, befuddled.

'As it was for me...another will come to test you...the conversions may happen soon. You have to prepare.' she explained in a low voice.

Syaoran bobs his head uncertainly. 'Right...'

'I'm serious, Li-kun,' she said, not blinking her eyes, 'Please let me...help you...'

Syaoran is amazed by her strength, her steady gaze, his amber eyes widening.

'Please,' she repeated, holding out her pinky.

He now knows how to reply and links his slightly larger pinky than hers and squeezes gently.

Her face lights up like a Christmas tree. 'Great!' she exclaimed, 'Back to the movie!' she reached for a pillow and passed it to him. 'For comfort...there will be a very sad part coming up shortly...' her face turned solemn.

Syaoran wonders what she means, but shakes his head in disbelief, when the girl jumps in front of the boy to catch a stray bullet. She dies of course.

'You must go on...' the girl croaked, tears rolling down her pale cheeks as she held his face in great effort.

'B-But, don't leave me! I need you!' the boy howled, his voice trembling.

Syaoran begins to bang the pillow on his head in angst, 'Stupid...corny...the writers of the script must have been comatose...' he muttered.

Sakura looks over to him strangely. 'Li-kun, you don't like the movie?' she made a face.

Syaoran stops hitting himself on the head with the pillow and goes red. 'N-No, Kinomoto-san...it's GREAT!' he said sarcastically, then, catching the shocked look on her face, stares down at the floor in desperation. 'Um...what I meant was...'

The next moment, three or more pillows pummel him all over, resulting in a whole out pillow fight.

'Syaoran-kun!' Meiling roared furiously, hitting him extra hard in the chest, 'You don't like my movie?!'

'Argh!' he cried, trying to dodge another that was coming from Tomoyo.

'I'm sure Eriol would have liked it!' she exclaimed with narrowed eyes, 'Too bad he isn't here!'

'Sakura was the only one who wasn't in the fight; she sat casually on the sofa, eating popcorn and continued to watch the movie as if they weren't there.

'Sakura-chan! Become our allie!' Tomoyo commanded foolishly, dragging Sakura off the couch, spreading popcorn everywhere.

'Uh! Key! To-mo-yo-chan!' Sakura grunted exasperatedly. 'Wah--!'

Sakura trips over Kero-chan who was snoozing on the floor and falls into Syaoran.

'Whoa!' he let out a heavy breath of air, catching her carefully.

'Oh-oh! Gomen! Ah -wai!' Sakura squeaked in panic, hugging herself tightly.

'Kinomoto-chan!' Meiling barked, throttling a pillow at Sakura.

Syaoran, by reflex, knocks the pillow away before it hits her and lands on Kero.

'What?! Syaoran-kun defends that brat!' Meiling snapped in a fit of rage, stomping her feet as invisible steam billowed out of her ears. 'NO!'

Sakura gasps, looking up at Syaoran startled. 'Defend...?' she said perplexed.

Syaoran backs away nervously. 'Uh...'

Tomoyo has stopped throwing pillows and begins to giggle like a hyena, her camera already out and rolling.

'NOOOOOOOOOOO!' came a great scream that nearly made everyone's eardrums explode. They all swivel around to see a very distressed close-up of a boy's tear struck face on the television.

Syaoran sighs, slumping his back with relief.

Sakura rubs the back of her head attentively, still thinking about Syaoran defending her.

'Gggrrr...' Meiling huffed, her hands balling into fist, 'Look what you've done, Kinomoto, you made me miss some of the movie!'

Tomoyo smiles cheekily, holding up the remote, 'Rewind!' she chirped, pressing the rewind button and it whirred to the part they'd missed.

Tomoyo and Meiling are soon sitting back down, staring like zombies up at the large TV, in awe of the scene they'd missed.

Sakura and Syaoran place themselves back on the couch, beside each other.

Both their eyes absentmindedly wonder over to each other, they connect then and there.

Syaoran dimly watches the reflections from the movie play and dance in Sakura's eyes; she does the same.

The scene soon connects with the last, the boy runs over to a different girl, and embraces her lovingly and they cry together.

'Ooh, how genki,' Meiling commented the movie.

Tomoyo giggles at her quirky remark and nods in agreement. 'How true...'

'Oh! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!' the boy sobbed falsely.

'Wah! I love you!' the girl sniveled deeply.

'Me too!' the boy answered with a howl.

Sakura's lips curl into a tiny smile; the movie was indeed very humorous.

Syaoran can't help but do the same. They smile at each other.

Sakura surprised him by leaning forward and hugging him gently. He doesn't understand why, but he hugs her back.

'Thank you for being my friend,' Sakura whispered sweetly, 'You've made me so happy...'

Syaoran's heart skips a beat, but he quickly ignores it and holds her tighter around the waist. 'I'm glad as well...' he replied with a struggle.

Chapter 30: Meiling's Departure

(by Melissa, added on 13 June 2002 10:12 PM)

Sakura yawned as she felt something shake her violently.

"Sakura! Wake up! We'll be late!!" Tomoyo struggled to wake up the sleepy Sakura.

"Whaa? Late for what??" Sakura asked still half a sleep.

"The Bear Convention! You sleep like a log!" Meiling said loudly.

"OH NO! I FORGOT!" Sakura dashed from her bed, raced into the bathroom to shower, change and brush her teeth. She raced down the stairs to have her breakfast and ran right into--

"OUCH!" yelped a boy who scratched his head in pain.

"Oh! Gomen ne Li-Kun! I'm very sorry." Sakura said with embarrassment.

Sakura looked Syaoran up and down. He wore a slick, green sweater and a pair of baggy cargo jeans.

Syaoran looked like a celebrity with his outfit.

the phone rang.

"I'll get it!" cried Meiling eagerly.

Sakura quickly ate her breakfast and headed to the door. After about 25 minutes, everyone had finished getting ready--except Meiling.

"Li-san, why aren't you ready? Aren't you coming?" Sakura asked in concern.

Meiling shook her head with a heavy sigh, "I...I can't. My aunt Yelin just called and .....said that I have some final packing to do because my flight comes in tomorrow. It comes in at 5:00 AM. So I have to get everything ready all today."

Tomoyo gasped, "Oh, Li-san. That's too bad. 6:00 is pretty early. I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow!"

"Will I see you before you leave?" Sakura asked with a begging look in her eyes.

"No...I have to do everything today. I even have to go to bed early because of the early flight." Meiling said with her head low.

Tears filled Sakura's eyes, "Oh! I'LL MISS YOU SO MUCH! I WISH YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO GO!!" Sakura jumped to Meiling and hugged her so tight, "I REALLY WISH YOU COULD HAVE COME." Sakura was now letting out hard cries with tears flooding down her cheeks.

Meiling's eyes widened. Never has she felt so touched. Never had she felt so warm and cared about. Even though she had treated Sakura so badly, she still said she would miss her. Sakura cried for her, and didn't want her too leave. Meiling realized that Sakura was really kind and pretty nice.

"Kinomoto, it's alright," Meiling said soothingly patting her shoulder. "I'll miss you too and I will come and visit you. And don't call me Li-san anymore."

Sakura looked up at Meiling and paused, her eyes sore from crying.

"W-What?"

"Call me Meiling. You are my friend now, and so is Daidouji."

Sakura's tears vanished and a smile replaced them.

"Group hug!!" Tomoyo declared giggling.

Sakura, Meiling, and Tomoyo all hugged each other crying and laughing all the same time.

Syaoran stood alone in thought, watching the girls in awe, one in particular. Syaoran thought to himself.

'That Kinomoto. She is like no one I've ever met. So sweet and gentle, and kind to those who hate her. If only I could be so kind--so loving. If only I could be more like her. Am I worthy of being master of these cards? Only those with a gentle spirit such as hers should own such cards'

He began to sulk. He was trained to be brave and strong---yet why was he so doubtful?

Chapter 31: Bear Convention

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 14 June 2002 03:12 AM)

After the nice, warm embrace of friends, Sakura, Tomoyo and Syaoran all caught a bus to the bear convention, where they would meet up with Eriol.

'I wish Meiling-chan could come,' Sakura sighed, staring out the window, 'To think we are friends now...and she will be leaving...' her eyes were still watery.

Tomoyo sat beside Sakura and looked over at her best friend with concern. 'Don't be sad, Sakura-chan.  Meiling-chan said she would come and visit soon.' she assured, though she was also sad.

As he peered through the window, Syaoran caught the reflection of tears in Sakura's eyes and gasped at her beauty; inner and outer. She was the prettiest girl he'd ever laid eyes on and he shamed himself to think that he hadn't noticed it at their first meeting...

'Kinomoto is so thoughtful...' he breathed, turning from her and stared ahead dully, 'Why couldn't I ever be so kind and caring as she is?'

'Because you never gave it a thought,' a voice said shrilly in his head, 'not until you met her anyway.'

'What?' Syaoran said, the lady sitting behind him gave him a strange look.

'You know what I mean,' the voice shrugged. 'I am you.'

Syaoran flinched, looking back to Sakura and blushing. 'No, what do you mean?'

'Whatever,' the voice laughed, before vanishing.

'Hmm...' Syaoran breathed, averting his attention back to the front of the bus. 'Kinomoto...'

*

They enter the large clean building. Syaoran watching Sakura all the while.

As soon as they entered, Sakura's face lit up like a Christmas tree and she let out a great whoop of pleasure.

'Ooh! How kawaii!' she squealed sweetly, running over to a display cabinet of teddy bears all signifying each month of the year with a special color and flower. 'Teddy-chan! Teddy-chan!' she addressed the stuffed animals as if they were real acquaintances. 'Ne, ne, yatta!'

Tomoyo has already brought out her camera, catching all of Sakura's cute moments on tape. 'Ohohoho...wonder if Eriol-kun will be here soon,' she wondered to herself, looking around while holding the camera in Sakura's direction.

Sakura turns away from the cabinet and smiles sweetly over at Syaoran who has been staring at her for the past three minutes. Sakura blinks, not understanding.

'Li-kun!' she exclaimed, running over to him and grabbing his hand, 'Come! Come and see!' she giggled, dragging him over to the display and pointing out his birthday bear.

'Ne, ne? Peony! Kawaii!' she giggled, prodding a finger cutely over to the green bear holding a branch of Peony in its paws.

Syaoran blushes again; Sakura didn't know that Peony was in fact, his favorite flower.

'N-Nice...' he replied, forced to look at the bear.

'Come! Tomoyo-chan! Isn't the big Panda-chan going to have a train ride?' Sakura said excitedly, grabbing Syaoran's hand again and yanking him over to the bear rides.

They meet up with Eriol shortly and the four go in search of interesting things. There was a kiddy train, a large slide, a swing merry-go-round, and much more, all revolving around the topic of teddies.

Sakura was ecstatic, completely all over the people dressed as bears, always wanting a hug; acting like a child.

'Ohohoho,' Tomoyo giggled like a little Santa Claus as Sakura was having a ride on the swing merry-go-round, 'Sakura-chan is so cute, ne?' she smiled over at Syaoran and Eriol.

Eriol nods in agreement, looking very similar to Tomoyo.

'Yes, indeed,' Eriol chuckled, walking around Syaoran and hugging Tomoyo from behind. 'But not as cute as you.'

Tomoyo's pale face went bright pink. Embarrassed and not knowing how to respond, looks down at her feet.

'Eriol-kun...' she murmured, but still holding the camera where Sakura is riding.

Syaoran has ignored them and is still watching Sakura. She shortly comes off the ride, a little flustered from being in the air.

'Ah! Let's go see the Hello Kitty's!' she cried joyfully, distracting Tomoyo and Eriol.

'Y-Yes, let's...' Eriol cleared his throat, straightening himself up and hurried after Sakura.

Tomoyo is giggling in a fetish, ushering Syaoran to follow.

*

They have gone to all the cutest displays of many different anime and manga stuffed animals and are now sitting around a large table, all ordering lunch.

'Did you see the tiger?' Tomoyo said, taking a sip of milkshake.

Sakura nods her head furiously, balling her hands, 'Yes! It was THIS big!' she outstretched her arms, showing them an over-exaggerated proportion of the actual tiger itself.

Syaoran gazes at her dreamily, a stream of thoughts flowing through his head. Explaining to him how cute she was, how sweet she was, how exceedingly beautiful she was...and not to mention that she was quite intelligent when she wanted to be...

'That's enough,' he snapped mentally to his subconscious.

Sakura suddenly thinks of Meiling and looks down again. 'I'm sure Meiling-chan would have liked this...' she sighed, catching all their attention and they all frown.

'Don't worry, she'll come back soon.' Tomoyo said timidly, but was also in doubt.

Eriol isn't really familiar with Meiling and looks slightly puzzled.

'Sakura-chan,' Eriol addressed her softly, 'I don't know who this Meiling is but I'm sure she will keep her promise to you and visit.'

Sakura raises her lips to a small smile but she sighs again. 'I hope so...'

Syaoran feels an inner pain, hating to see Sakura be this way he stands up suddenly, startling all of them.

'The convention was nice. Thank you for inviting me,' he nodded over to Sakura, 'But I need to get home now...' he begins to walk away with a low head.

Sakura suddenly stands up as well, hurrying after him.

'Wait, Li-kun,' she murmured, walking closely behind him.

Syaoran presses the button to the elevator and the door begins to open. He moans, stepping slowly into the elevator.

'Li-kun!' Sakura called, blocking the doors and also stepping in.

'Huh?' he gasped, surprised by her presence.

Suddenly, the doors slam shut and the power in all the place goes out. Tomoyo and Eriol hurry over to the door, but it is jammed and they are trapped inside.

'Sakura-chan,' Tomoyo clutched her hands together with worry.

'I'll go see if I can get help, stay here,' Eriol said beginning to run away.

'Please do,' Tomoyo sighed, watching the doors carefully.

Chapter 32: Sakura, Syaoran and the Elevator(part1)

(by Melissa, added on 14 June 2002 08:20 PM)

"Wait Eriol! I'll come with you!" Tomoyo called at the last minute, rushing after him.

Sakura and Syaoran gasped as they saw the elevator trap them inside.

Syaoran shrugged, "Oh well...I guess they'll have to take the next elevator."

He tried eagerly with the buttons, however the elevator didn't move. He tried again, and again and again--but still, it didn't move.

Sakura stared in worry, about to panic.

Syaoran scratched his head, "Um...Kinomoto-chan....I think..."

"We're stuck aren't we?" Sakura finished worriedly.

"Well, I'll try the elevator phone and call for help." Syaoran suggested.

Syaoran lifted the receiver and was ready to speak, but it was apparent that no one would respond.

"The power is out." Syaoran stated calmly.

"Oh wait! I know!" Sakura reached through her pocket and pulled out a pink cellular phone, "Tomoyo gave this to me for my clow card capturing. I'll use it to try to call for help."

Sakura dialed a number and waited for an answer, as Syaoran watched desperately.

Sakura groaned and then hung up.

"So...what happened?" Syaoran asked knowing exactly what her answer would be.

Sakura groaned again, "I can't get through--the phone won't work in here."

Syaoran and Sakura both sighed sadly.

**Tomoyo's POV****

Tomoyo and Eriol stood anxiously at the building's help and rescue department.

"Excuse me mam, my friends are trapped in an elevator and--"

"I'm sorry, but you have to be in the line-up for service." said the receptionist in an almost monotone voice.

"T-The end??" Tomoyo squeaked as she turned to look at the long, nearly endless rows of people.

"Nooo... what do you think?" The receptionist asked sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.

Eriol and Tomoyo sighed and slowly made their way to the back of the line.

Normal POV

The two stood silently in the elevator. Sakura on one end, Syaoran on the other. The darkness consuming the large empty space of the elevator. The clock constantly ticking...ticking....ticking.

Minute after minute, hour after hour.

Syaoran could not help but look over at Sakura--just once. She had her head down and her face frowned. Syaoran knew she was crying and she begun to shiver slightly.

"Kinomoto-chan..." Syaoran called gently.

Sakura looked up at him still quite sad, scared and worried. In his hand, he held a card which had a brightly lit flame on one end.

"Don't worry. I'm sure the others will find help. We'll be fine." Syaoran said trying to comfort Sakura seeing that she looked sad.

Sakura grinned, "Arigatou(thankyou) Li-Kun." Sakura then rummaged through her pocket and pulled out a light pinkish handkerchief and laid it on the floor.

"Li-Kun, please sit." Sakura said sweetly ushering him to sit seeing how long he had been standing. Syaoran shook his head.

"Li desu.(it's okay) I'm fine. I'll just stand. It's quite comfortable.... really." Syaoran lied bluntly.

Sakura giggled, "No, No! Sit! You've been standing waaay too long." Sakura gently tugged his arm encouraging him to sit.

Syaoran sat uncomfortably trying to sit as far away from Sakura on the handkerchief as possible; carefully avoiding to touch her.

**Tomoyo's POV***

Tomoyo and Eriol were half way at the front of the line. They watched as the line of people dragged along slowly. Eriol groaned, "Sheesh! We've been standing here for hours!"

"We'll never get through here! Eriol, are you sure there is no magic spell or whatever you can use to free them?" Tomoyo pleaded.

"I'm sorry Tomoyo, I wish, but unfortunately there is nothing magical I can do to release them. We'll just have to wait I guess."

Tomoyo sulked, sighing once again.

Normal POV

The two sat uneasily on the piece of cloth. Sakura glanced over at Syaoran who seemed calm, yet uncomfortable. He was also red in the face."

"Li-Kun? Ogenki desu ka?(are u well)" Sakura asked in concern.

"Hai. Nan Desu Ka? (Yes. What is it?)"

"You're red all over your face. Are you sure you're fine?" Sakura asked now placing her hand on his forehead.

Syaoran blushed harder. He realized he had blushed the whole time as he sat beside her, "Um...H-Hai!! I'm fine!" Syaoran stuttered as he tried to brush away Sakura's hand.

Sakura frowned. Once again she was searching through her backpack. She pulled out something small wrapped in a shiny, blue wrapper. She held it in front of Syaoran.

"W--What??" Syaoran looked at the wrapper in question.

"Yukito-san came over last night with a large bag of cookies. Kero-chan ate the rest, but I have one leftover. Maybe we could...share it?" Sakura suggested with her usual sweet smile. Without a second thought Sakura split the tiny bear shaped cookie and gave half to Syaoran.

Syaoran stared thoughtfully at the cookie. Sakura was such a kind person--she just kept giving and giving.

"This is a really good cookie!" Sakura said cheerfully eating the her half of it.

Syaoran continued to look at his half of the cookie.

"You were right Li-Kun. This isn't so bad."

Syaoran looked at her blankly.

"I'm glad that you're here Li-Kun. I wouldn't bare to be in here alone." Sakura babbled on and on with bounciness in her voice.

"Really?" Syaoran smiled lamely, feeling a tad of rosiness in his cheeks.

"Hai! But, we'll be ok because we're a team! I bet Tomoyo and Eriol are finding help already!" Sakura said hopeful.

**Tomoyo's POV***

"WHAT?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN TOO BUSY??!!" Tomoyo screamed angrily.

"Look, I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times! The elevator inspectors can't help your friends right now. You will have to wait!"

Tomoyo groaned, "Oh Eriol...this is just a waste of time. "A single tear dripped down her cheek, "Poor Sakura and Li-Kun.

Eriol wiped her cheek tenderly. "It's ok Tomoyo-chan. Sakura and Li-Kun are very smart, especially when they work together. I'm sure they'll find a way out."

Tomoyo managed a small smile but still felt a little sad, "I hope you're right."

Eriol smiled, "Of course, now let's go back to the elevators and wait for them to come out."

***Normal POV***

Syaoran sat still--- his back against the wall. Sakura had fallen asleep against his lap and was quietly almost purring in her sleep.

Syaoran not knowing what else to do put his arm gently around her back. Syaoran gazed at her contently playing with her soft, shiny auburn hair. He admired her soft, gentle face and the cute way she looked while she slept.

The room was filled with silence except the constant clicking of the clock.

"When I'm with her...I feel so warm and special, but what is this feeling that always strickens me in her presence? This feeling--so different; so new." Syaoran whispered to himself unsure of what was happening to him.

Suddenly, the elevator shook ferociously, knocking Syaoran a couple of feet to the side and jolting Sakura to waken tossing her to the opposite side.

"AHHHH!! HOEEEE???" Sakura cried confused by being shaken out of her sleep.

"YOOOUCH!! DAMN! What was that?" Syaoran shouted vainly rubbing his sore forehead.

"What's happening?!" Sakura asked uncertain of where she was or what was occurring.

"The elevator just---" Syaoran gasped as he noticed the wall behind Sakura suddenly vanish.

"WATCH OUT!!!" Syaoran hollered to her. Sakura still uncertain of what was happening just blinked in confusion.

"Watch out? Watch out for wha----" Suddenly Sakura slipped and fell through the space left by the missing wall.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Sakura screamed about to slip. Fortunately she had grabbed the edge of a protruding piece of metal on the side of the elevator.

"L-LI-KUN!!!" Sakura cried for mercy.

Syaoran raced as fast as he could to the edge of the elevator.

Sakura began to slip gradually. "I-I CAN'T HOLD ON ANY LONGER!"

"TAKE MY HAND!!" Syaoran called desperately.

However just when he had reached out to grab her hand Sakura slipped and fell, down, further and further screaming bloody murder.

Syaoran stared; wide-eyed in horror.

The image of Sakura falling replayed in his mind, again, and again. The image of Sakura falling down, further and further into pitch black darkness--out of his reach, and out of his life.

Syaoran closed his eyes tightly, with-straining the pain in his heart. Sakura--gone? He couldn't imagine it. He was mean to her in the beginning, forcing her to give him something that he hadn't deserved. The Clow Cards. He had tutored her, but called her stupid, and yet deep inside never meant it. Now Sakura--his only true friend--was gone...forever.

"SAAAAAAAAKKKKKKUUUUUUUURRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Syaoran screamed out bitterly as if calling her name could make things change.
