Chapter 19: Hoe?

(by chibichibi123, added on 2 June 2002 01:24 AM)

Sakura hurries to school, when she enters the classroom, she sees Tomoyo, Syaoran and Meiling already sitting in their seats. She breathes a sigh of relief as the teacher hasn't arrived yet.

'Oh, um, good morning, Tomoyo-chan,' Sakura greeted awkwardly as Meiling turned her head and glared at Sakura.

'Good morning,' Tomoyo replied with a sweet smile.

Sakura sits down in front of Syaoran, sighing as she places her bag on the floor, unpacking her books and writing equipment.

'Hoe?' Sakura breathed, turning around to meet the intense stare of Syaoran. She just continues to gaze at him.

'Ahem!' Meiling huffed, scowling over at Sakura.

Sakura and Syaoran don't seem to here her.

Tomoyo tries very hard not to laugh; she can see what has developed and smiles.

Sakura finally blinks, and smiles a greeting, hoping that he will be more friendly, what with all the rivalry going on, and not news of the new captor, Heather.

'Li-kun, good morning,' Sakura said sweetly, her smile broadening.

Syaoran raises his eyebrows in surprise; she seemed to be growing prettier everyday. He feels blood rush to his cheeks and nods furiously, looking out the window, still fairly flushed. 'Y-Yeah.' he responded in a rush.

Sakura is surprised by his reaction. Tomoyo is now starting one of her giggling fits as Meiling is glowering at both Syaoran and Sakura.

Just at that moment, Terada Sensei walks into the classroom, smiling friendly as always.

Rika, whom is sitting in the front row grows a deep crimson; there eyes lock, but Terada clears his throat, yanking out the role.

*

Sakura and Tomoyo separate from their usual friendship meeting and sit on the foutain's edge, watching the water trickle in small spouts.

'So, Sakura-chan,' Tomoyo began, folding a piece of hair behind her ear. 'Do you think you will be able to trust the new girl, and with Syaoran and Meiling's position?'

Sakura nods her head, though seeming doubtful. 'I think so. Li-kun's seems to be softening up, but he's still very stubborn and refuses to be nice. And now his cousin...' she sighed, looking over at Syaoran and Meiling who were sitting on the same bench, 'I don't know what to do or what to say..,'

'Sakura-chan,' Tomoyo said with a worried expression,' Don't give up. You are the Mistress of the Cards, and if it be destiny that brings you to this new deck, so be it.'

Sakura looks up at her with watery eyes, 'I don't know if I can...I mean, what if I lose everything? What if this is another test, determining who the REAL master should be?!' she held back the tears, looking up at the sky as a bird flew overhead, 'They're like my family...I don't want to lose them...'

'You won't,' Tomoyo said assuring, but there was a hint of hesitance in her voice, 'Sakura-chan, have faith in yourself. Kero-chan and I both believe in you.'

A tear trickles down Sakura's right cheek as she smiles thankfully. 'Tomoyo-chan...sometimes you know just what to say...'

Tomoyo and Sakura hug as two of the closest friends there could ever be.

*

While Meiling is boasting about her new "delicious" recipe, Syaoran has eavesdropped on Sakura and Tomoyo's whole conversation and frowns.

'That Kinomoto girl is thoughtful...' he mused, Meiling's haughty boasting just audible. The tear he had detected that had fallen from Sakura's eye has surprisingly stung his heart like a poison dart, 'How gentle is her spirit?'

He shakes his head furiously, bringing his senses back to Meiling's annoying drivel, 'Huh?! What am I thinking?!' he shouted loudly, startling Meiling slightly but she went on, suddenly stuffing sushi down his throat, making him choke.

*

Sakura is back in class, their Science teacher droning on about quantum physics (ouch), Sakura's eyes droop a little as she is barely balancing her head on her hand as her elbow his leaning against the table. She begins to shut her eyes.

She begins to fall, fall into darkness.

The same dream from the other night replays itself to her perfectly.

Syaoran is standing on the roof, his eyes full of determination...those serious, stern, amber eyes...

Sakura blinks her subconscious eyes as his eyes bore into her mind...they hurt, so mean...full of...wait...was that a tear that was just presented in his eye?

Sakura wonders as she slowly sees Meiling approaching from behind him... she is glaring at Sakura. Then next comes the new captor...Heather...

'W-What's happening?!' Sakura cried as her voice echoed in the endless night sky and city, 'Why are you all over there?!'

Betrayal stamps across her subconscious mind and she begins to fall once again...a bloodcurdling scream comes from the pits of her throat, but the cries are silent...as she falls...her form fading...fading into darkness,,,

'NOOO!!!' Sakura wailed, rising her head up, her eyes tear streaked and wide with fear. 'Don't let me...'

She stops, looking around the room; all eyes upon her. She leaps from her seat, scanning from Tomoyo who looks worried, Meiling is scowling and then stops on Syaoran. She flinches as he has a stern look upon his face, his amber eyes narrowed.

'Who...' she murmured, as Terada walked over to her, placing a concerned hand on her shoulder.

'What is wrong, miss Kinomoto?' he asked in his deep voice.

Sakura is so embarrassed, that she just wanted to curl up and die. She shakes her head gently, her auburn hair masking her tearful eyes as she slowly walks to the door.

'May I be excused?' she whispered weakly, not looking back and closing the door quietly.

Everyone is in shock, staring at the closed door.

'Sakura-chan?' Tomoyo breathed, her sapphire eyes glistening.

Syaoran sits up quickly, wanting to know what was going on.

'Need to go restroom,' he grunted to Terada without responce, rushing out the door.

'H-Huh?' Terada spluttered with confusion.

*

Sakura's rattling sobs are loudened by the echoes bouncing off the hall's walls. She stumbles a little, until she is

outside of the automatic doors and hurries to her usual cherry blossom tree. She sits between the thick roots, cross-legged, and allows the tears to drop into her lap.

'Why...' she begged to no one. 'Is this...'

Syaoran watches her carefully, standing just beside the stoop, she hasn't looked up and doesn't know he is there.

'The...dream...I don't...understand...' she whimpered into her arms, 'Another test...? Why does he hate me so much?'

Syaoran's heart feels feels like a knife has been jabbed deeply into it, He hasn't felt this guilty in a long time.

He slowly walks over to her and kneels beside her. Sakura continues to cry louder until he clears his throat.

Sakura gasps, lifting her head from her arms and staring at him.

'Hey,' he said in a serious tone, 'Why are you crying?'

'Go away!' she cried, scrambling to her feet. 'It is none of your concern!'

'Who said I was concerned?' he replied coldly, crossing his arms and staring at her icily. 'But do tell me why.'

'Why should I? You've already proven to me that you hate being in my company. That's all I needed to know. If you hate me so much, why do you even bother to ask?' she exclaimed, her pretty emerald eyes sparkling with anguist, her body quivering with anger.

He is taken back, his eyes widening, his jaw dropping, 'Y-You think I hate you?'

Sakura gasps again, covering her mouth with one hand and nods reluctantly.

He takes a step forward, 'Hey...I'm...' he had never apologized before to anyone but his mother, 'I...'

Sakura closes her eyes tightly, tears squeezing out.

'Uh...' he sighed, rubbing the back of his head.

'If you can't have the consideration for at least apologizing...just admit it! You HATE ME! I never hated you! I only treated you badly because you never gave me a chance, and when I did try, you'd sneer!' Sakura screamed in agony, her throat dry and soar.

At that stage, his mouth was gaping open and closed, like a fish out of water.

'JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! I DON'T NEED YOUR PITY!' she bawled, swiveling around and running off, in a random direction.

*

Sakura replays the previous day...

'Yukito-san,' Sakura began with a tint of pink on her cheeks.

'Yes, Sakura-chan,' Yukito, now twenty, smiled kindly.

'I...' she took a deep breath, 'I love you...'

Yukito's eyes suddenly went ice cold; the same as his other being: Yue.

'Don't speak such nonsense,' he hissed emotionlessly, 'You don't love me.'

'B-But I do!' Sakura cried, tears rising to her eyes, 'I love you!'

'Is it as the love for your father?' he asked.

'My father...yes,' she replied with a gasp.

'Then you do not love me that way. You see me like a brother. And I am greatly sorry, but I do not love you that way...'

Sakura's heart felt like it had been shattered into a million pieces.

'B-But...Yukito-san...' she croaked, a tear falling.

He turns around, his back facing her direction, as he began to walk away.

She was left standing in the cold night, shivering, her lips numb, her tears forming into ice...

*

'H-H-How could I have been so stupid?!' she asked herself, 'You are so blind, Sakura!' she scolded herself, stilling running from Syaoran.

She suddenly hears a deep, bellowing honk coming from her left. She stumbles from surprise and falls on her stomach, a truck is speeding towards her.

Her scream is caught in her throat as she stares in horror, too stunned to move.

'NO!' she heard a scream from the left, 'GET AWAY!'

Next moment, there was a screech of tires, and a loud smash of metals.

Syaoran gawks openly as the dust cloaks the scene before him.

'No...' he said, shaking his head slowly, 'No...' he walked slowly over to the side of the road, and waited until the dust cleared.

As the dust and smoke settled, he was in terror of the scene before him; people crowded around the body of a young girl. The truck driver and other people who had seen the whole thing were either crying over the body, or shaking her furiously.

'No...' he choked, running over to her limp body, shoving the others away, holding her in his arms and he began to cry.

'W-Why did you...?' he asked her with blurred vision as her eyes remained shut, blood streaming from the side of her head.

She didn't respond.

'SAKURAAAAAAA!' he screamed, the cry being heard everywhere within ten miles. 'NOOOOOOOOOO!'

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 2 June 2002 02:46 AM)

'NOOO!' Syaoran screamed, his eyes full of tears.

Hoe?' he heard a voice in front of him, he opens his watery eyes and sees a pair of bright, green eyes.

Sakura frowns with concern, 'Are you ok, Li-kun?'

'Huh - wha?!' he exclaimed, sitting up stiffly and looking around them; they were in his Science class. 'B-But...'

'Do you wish to share with us, mister Li?' the teacher scowled, tapping a foot impatiently.

'N-N-No...' Syaoran shook his head, quickly wiping the tears that escaped and looking down at his desk embarrassed, hearing several students giggling.

'Well then, averting your attention from mister Li,' the teacher continued, clearing her throat.

Sakura and Tomoyo exchange looks of concern.

'What happened, Li-kun?' Sakura whispered, the teacher too engrossed in her teaching to notice.

'Pst, Kinomoto! Shut up!' Meiling hissed under her breathed.

Sakura jumps and quickly turns away from him. But Syaoran mentally begs her to turn around and ask him again.

As if catching his message, Sakura turns her head around the other way, looking at him with concern.

'Later,' he said. But he wanted to talk to her. 'Wait...can we talk at lunch?'

Sakura nods her head in acceptance and smiles.

'What was that all about?' Syaoran pondered, recalling his weird dream. 'These things are beginning to...'

'Scare you,' another voice said in his head.

'W-Wha? Who are you?' Syaoran thought, narrowing his eyes.

'I'm you. You're me. And you asked me what's happening to you?'

'Well... yeah,' Syaoran shrugged.

'Hmm...well, there's only one explanation...'

'What?'

'You're beginning to reason with your feelings...what you feel about Sakura and the others...'

'Wha-gah?! Sakura? That Kinomoto girl?'

'Exactly.'

'B-B-But...I didn't mean...' he smacked himself on the head.

'Later then.'

The voice vanished.

Chapter 21: What Does It All Mean? (Part 1)

(by Melissa, added on 2 June 2002 05:46 PM)

Sakura, Syaoran,Tomoyo, and Meiling sat around a large picnic table. It was lunch time. Everyone sat happily munching away on just about everything.

"Mmmm! Tomoyo-chan! This is soo good!" Sakura said as she happily ate away at her Gyoza dumplings. "I have never tried this before!"

Meiling shook her head,"Well, in China, we eat gyoza dumplings all the time!" Meiling said obnoxiously.

"Well why don't you try the yakitori?" asked Tomoyo politely.

"What's THAT?!" Meiling asked eyeing the yakitori.

"It's a grilled chicken on a stick. It's really good!" Tomoyo said holding it out for her to try.

"Sure..okay." Meiling said happily eating it away.

"Um...Li-Kun...what did you want to tell me?" Sakura asked in concern.

"Well...I had this dream." he began unsure if he really wanted to tell her.

"REALLY?! ME TOO!" Sakura exclaimed ready to tell him about it.

Syaoran who was a bit nervous to say anything about his dream just let her speak, "Okay. Tell me yours first."

"Well, you were there, and I was there." Sakura began.

At that Meiling looked up and shot her another dirty look. Syaoran blushed a little at hearing himself in her dreams.

"I was standing on Tokyo tower and I was holding my wand. Yue was in front of me and--"

Tomoyo gasped, "Sakura-chan! Isn't that the final judgment?" Tomoyo asked as her mind flashed back the long and nearly endless day.

"Well yes...but Syaoran was not there. It was just me, Mazuki-Sensei, you, Cereberos and Yue." Sakura said still deep in thought , but in this one, we were ALL there...even Heather."

Syaoran stared seriously in thought.

"Kero had told me before that my dreams reflect the future. I am wondering if...there is going to be another final judgment."

Everyone was silent.

"Okay...I am not trying to be rude or anything but...WHAT THE HECK IS THE FINAL JUDGMENT??!!" Meiling shouted making everyone stare at her.

"Well...uh...how do I explain?" Sakura asked herself. Tomoyo snapped her fingers.

"I got an idea! I got it on tape, so why don't all you guys come to my house after school and I could show the video! . So then Sakura can just tell you what was different."

"That's great but--"Sakura turned to look at Syaoran and then sighed, "But Li-kun has to help me study for the big math exam next week."

Syaoran realizing the importance of Sakura's dream nodded in agreement, "Well...I guess after school we should discuss your dream. Because I..."Syaoran sweat dropped and shook nervously, "I had the same one."

Everyone stared at Syaoran with devastation.

"THEN YOU GUYS HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE DREAM!" shouted a thing that flew out of Sakura's lunch bag.

"KERO!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Sakura asked in surprise.

"That's not important...if you both had the same dream, then it must be critical to find out the meaning!" Kero said importantly.

"But what about the test? I really have to study!" Sakura asked anxiously.

Syaoran looked at Sakura and saw the panic in her eyes. This was his chance to 'say sorry' for his arrogance.

"Well...um....Kinomoto-chan," Syaoran began with hesitance in his voice, "I guess I could give you extra help on Saturday."

Sakura's eyes lit up, "Really Li-kun?? Oh wow! Thanks!" Sakura dashed over to Syaoran and hugged him. Syaoran stiffened up, and at the same time blushed a bit.

Meiling groaned angrily. Sakura sensing Meiling's anger, quickly let go of Syaoran.

"Well," began Tomoyo trying to change the subject to save Sakura the embarrassment, "Lunch Time is over. It's about time we got back to class."

The group nodded systematically, grabbed their bags and wrappers and then heading for class.

Sakura's POV

Syaoran actually promised to do something nice for once! Who am I kidding? The only reason why he wants to is probably because my dream was about the cards. I can't believe Li had the same dream! I think I should call Heather and tell her to come with us to Tomoyo's place after school. I wonder if she had the same dream?

Syaoran's POV

Aw. There goes soccer practice on Saturday. Oh well. At least I did something nice for her for once. Wait...I never told her about the dream I had this morning!

Meiling's POV

GRRR! I hate that Kinomoto! Doesn't she realize that Syaoran's mine? What'll happen when I leave on Sunday?

Tomoyo's POV

I wonder if Sakura's dream means another final judgment? I hope it does! I get to make more costumes! Oh I forgot! The bear convention is Saturday! What do we do now?

Mazuki's POV(???)

It won't be long now...Sakura

Chapter 22: What Does It All Mean? ( Part 2)

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 4 June 2002 04:36 AM)

After a long discussion at Tomoyo's, it had become quite clear what the final judgment had been like. They all agreed to think about it so they could maybe come up with ideas. Once finished they all left. Since there happened to be some time remaining after they left, Sakura and Syaoran decided that instead of Saturday, they would just study that very day. Meaning Meiling would tag along too.

*

Meiling and Syaoran walk with Sakura as she skates enthusiastically ahead.

'So,' Meiling started, still clinging to Syaoran's arm, 'what kind of maths will we be studying today?'

"We?," Syaoran grunted, looking down at her, 'I thought you were supposed to start packing today because you're leaving soon, aren't you?'

Meiling is hurt and begins to sulk, 'But...I want to come again...'

'Go home,' he snapped, startling Sakura and she turned around to stare curiously.

'But, Syaoran-kun...' Meiling whined, letting go of his arm and crossing hers. 'I don't want to...'

Sakura blinks, skating backwards as they approached her house. Syaoran's home next door.

'See you later,' Syaoran shrugged, directing a hesitant Meiling to his home. 'Mother wants you to pack early.'

Meiling humphs and begins to stomp towards his house. 'Fine. See you later. But I'm warning you Kinomoto,' she snapped rudely, glaring at Sakura.

Sakura waves it off timidly, she then looks over to Syaoran.

'Coming?' she asked, beginning to take off her skates.

'Yeah,' he sighed, following her from a safe distance.

*

Sakura enters the room with a tray of snacks and drinks for both of them.

'So,' she began, placing the tray down, 'what will we be doing today?'

Syaoran flips through the text book and points it out, showing her the page.

'Quadratics?' Sakura said in mild surprise, 'But we haven't even begun that topic in school...'

'Look, I feel that you're improving and would like to test your skill. It will be an advantage for you.' he said, eyeing her seriously.

'O-Ok, sure,' she answered nervously as she squatted beside him on the floor, scanning the page and frowning.

He watches her carefully as she takes one last look at the formula and copies it down.

'Now, try this question,' he said, handing her a slip of paper, 'without looking at the formula for reference.'

Sakura nods uncertainly, taking one last look at the formula, took the paper and began to work out the equation.

It was a few seconds before she returned the paper to him; he is surprised but reads it, then looks back at her with shock.

'That's...correct.'

Sakura can feel the heat begin to radiate from her face; she had learned the formula fairly quick.

'Really?' she squeaked, taking back the paper and examined it, 'are you sure you haven't miss calculated?'

'No, it's good, you're improving,' he assured her with a tiny smile.

Sakura makes a weird face, staring down at the problem. 'No, really, is it right? Don't lie to me...huh?' she mumbled childishly.

Syaoran thinks she looks adorable, and blushes. He looks down at his lap, not wanting her to see.

'Uh...no, you did it.'

'Hoe?' she gasped, placing the paper on the table, 'Are you ok, Li-kun? You're red!'

And before he knew it, she had her soft palm pressed against his forehead.

'Oh, you're so warm,' she said with surprise, 'here, have a drink of water...'

She offers him the cup, he snatches it away from her, swiveling around and gulping the water down hastily.

'Thanks,' he gurgled, slamming the glass onto the tray.

Sakura shifts away from him uncomfortably. 'Um...can I get you anything else?'

He wipes his forehead, 'No thanks...it's pretty warm in here...'

'Oh, the heat must be turned up too much. Let me get it,' Sakura exclaimed, rushing over to the heater to turn it down.

Syaoran rubs his eyes for a moment, swearing that Sakura's mother's picture had smiled at him. 'Huh?'

Sakura notices that he is looking at her picture and sits beside him again, a calm smile upon her lips. 'That's my mother...beautiful, isn't she?'

Syaoran stares at her from the side, 'Wha?' he spluttered, jerking away, 'Yeah...I suppose...'

Sakura's eyes grow watery, she continues to smile at the photo. 'I really miss her...' she whispered.

Syaoran wonders why she is confiding in him, when he had been mean to her beforehand, and they were supposedly rivals.

Sakura sniffles, wiping a tear from her eye. Syaoran panics, watching her hopelessly.

'Uh, it's ok...don't cry...' he stammered, trying to sound soothing.

Sakura turns to him, her eyes sparkling with unshed tears. Syaoran stares at her in awe, her eyes like two large emeralds. He furiously shakes it off, leaning away.

'Don't cry,' he repeated, opening his eyes again.

'Th-Thank you,' Sakura said softly, 'I didn't mean to...um...should we get back to studying then?' she pointed over at the forgotten text book.

'S-Sure!' he commended gratefully, slapping the text book into his lap. 'Hop to it!'

Sakura blinks twice, staring at his continually burning face. 'Um...you're hot...?'

'H-H-Hot?!' he exclaimed, jumping to his feet.

'Hoe? Are you ok?' Sakura said cautiously, frowning slightly. 'You look pretty warm...'

'Oh, warm...' he breathed wearily, slumping back to his knees. 'I thought she meant I was..."hot".' he thought to himself. 'Gah! Why did I just think that?!' he asked himself.

'Ok...' Sakura started again, looking to the book, 'now...we use advanced algebra for examples...Li-kun?'

She looks up to find him staring at her.

'Hello?!' she whispered, feeling unnerving,

'Huh? Oh!' he snapped out of his thoughts, 'Ok!'

Sakura reads an example for him, her turn to test him.

'Uh...three?' he muttered, looking distractedly over at Sakura's mother's picture again.

'That is...' she gasped, "wrong? The correct answer is five. Li-kun, have you even been listening to me?'' she narrowed her eyes, feeling offended.

'Y-Yes...' he began with an uneven stutter.

'Li-kun,' she snapped, standing up, 'I'm tired of you continually being mean to me. I've tried very hard to be nice to you, so please spare me the pity if you have any.'

'Wait, I didn't mean to...offend you...' he looked guilty. 'I guess I...was too distracted by thinking about the dream I had during class...' he sighed.

'Dream? But, I thought you had the same one as I did?' Sakura said, her anger disappearing.

'I did...but...' he wondered if he should tell her, 'There was another...'

She sat down again, narrowing her eyes. 'Tell me.'

'Well...you kind of ran out of class crying, so I followed you - don't ask me why...and then we seemed to get into an argument outside the school...you ran away again, and then you were hit by a passing truck...' he explained.

'There's still more...I know there is,' she said seriously, 'I sense you aren't telling me everything.'

Syaoran is amazed, she'd never seemed so serious before. 'Well, I ran over to you...and...I kind of - oh, I don't know...cried over you...' he prodded his fingers together. 'That's it.'

Sakura's eyes soften and she smiles sweetly. 'I don't understand what it could mean...but you admitted that you..."cried" over me,' she giggled, leaning forward and hugging him, 'So you don't hate me...I'm glad...'

Syaoran flinches, 'H-Huh?!' he gasped.

'I thought we were rivals, Li-kun,' she explained, pulling away and smiling at him, 'but if you don't mind me asking...do you think...just maybe...we could, you know, become...friends?'

It hit him in the heart like a stray bullet, it had come such a shock that he was stunned, sitting there, staring at her.

'Uh, Li-kun?' she asked, waving a hand in front of his face.

'Wha?' he breathed, snapping out of it.

'Friends?' she repeated, holding her pinky finger in front of him.

'Uh...huh?' he answered dully, not understanding as he raised his right hand.

Sakura links pinky finger with his and squeezes it gently. 'Pinky swear that we'll become friends,' she said excitedly.

'Uh, yeah, sure...' he squeezed hers as well.

She lurches forward and hugs him again, but it was not hard enough to choke him, nothing like Meiling.

'She seems so unfocused at first...but at the same time, knows exactly what she's doing...' he thought to himself, still staring at the picture of Nadeshiko.

*

Sakura hurries into the classroom, stumbling over to her seat in front of Syaoran. He looks up with surprise.

'Hel-lo!' Sakura greeted him with a bright smile, 'How are you this fine morning?'

Syaoran is astonished by her enthusiasm and can't help but blush.

'I-I'm ok...you?' he replied, turning his head to face the window, but his eyes were still looking at her.

Sakura's giggle was playful and like a simple melody. 'I'm good. I'm so happy we're no longer rivals...' she said, opening her eyes and gazing at him calmly.

Tomoyo walks over to them and pats Sakura on the back.

'Good morning, Tomoyo-chan!' Sakura exclaimed, turning away from Syaoran to greet her best friend.

'Whoa, you're pretty hyped up this morning,' Tomoyo laughed freely, 'Good morning to you as well. Good morning, Li-kun.'

'Morning,' he said, turning his head to the front.

'You two seem closer than usual...' Tomoyo observed, slyly stroking her chin.

'T-T-Tomoyo-chan!' Sakura hissed, ushering her into her seat. 'Doesn't matter, ok?'

'O-kay,' Tomoyo giggled mischievously.

Syaoran and Sakura take one last look at each other before turning to the front as Terada walked in with the role, he and Rika look at each other and blush.

Chapter 23: The Last Card (Part 1)

(by Melissa, added on 4 June 2002 07:52 PM)

The day had gone by quite quickly as it quite often does. It was now Phys. Ed. Sakura, Syaoran, Meiling and Tomoyo were walking together humbly watching everyone else race around and make laps around the track.

"Isn't it a nice day?" Tomoyo said merrily.

Sakura nodded, "It really is a nice day today. I love baton practice, I love running, I love dodge ball and I love-----YUKITO-SAN!"

There from around the block was Yukito and Touya. Yukito was now 18 years old turning 19 in December and he was a high school senior.

Yukito smiled cheerfully and Sakura blushed a pink rosy color.

"Kinnichi-wa Sakura-chan! I heard you had baton practice and I came over to see how you would do."

"Yah.. I'm surprised she still goes into the baton club with the amount of times the baton lands on her head." said Touya pitiless.

Sakura growled frustrated, but she felt her face turn red as she saw Yukito in her presence. Syaoran stared at Yukito strangely. He wasn't sure how he felt...but he felt odd. He felt some sort of attraction...but wasn't sure of what it was. He felt his cheeks turn hot for reasons which were unknown to him.

"Well,  I got to go. I'll come back when your baton practice begins." said Yukito as he and Touya walked away.

"Hey...um...Sakura, aren't you going to the Bear Convention?" Tomoyo asked.

"OH NO! I FORGOT! ISN'T IT ON SATURDAY?!" Sakura asked in a high-pitched screech.

"What's the bear convention?" Asked Meiling curiously.

"Well they have all these teddy- bears on display. They even have some bear making kits on sale." Tomoyo said starry-eyed, "I thought about maybe asking Eriol and you guys to come with me Saturday."

"What would you want with a childish teddy bear?" Meiling asked rudely.

"Well," began Tomoyo, "I hear that when you make a bear, give it to the one you love and they name it after you, it means that you both really care about each other and you'll be together forever. "

Meiling immediately eyed Syaoran.

Sakura immediately eyed Yukito. Tomoyo immediately eyed Sakura. Syaoran just stood there blushing and staring down at the ground not knowing who to eye.

"Oh...but you can't go Sakura-chan...aren't Li-Kun and you...studying that day?" Tomoyo asked sadly.

"Oh...yah. I forgot that too." Sakura sighed.

Syaoran shook his head, "Well..we can go on Saturday...I mean, Sakura, is getting much better with her arithmetic so...I personally don't think she needs to study. She's better than most people I know."

Everyone stared at Syaoran in shock.

"WOOOW! Li-Kun! Is that a complement?" Tomoyo asked devilishly, "Funny, it's the first compliment I've heard you say since you came to Japan...and what's even more funny is the fact that it was for Sakura." Tomoyo giggled uncontrollably. Meiling, Sakura and Syaoran all shot her a massive glare but deep down inside, Sakura and Syaoran both knew they were blushing.

*

Sakura, Meiling and Syaoran were walking all together to the Kinomoto residence.

"So...how is the guardian beast of the seal?" Syaoran asked attempting to make conversation.

"You mean Cerberus? He's okay. Why?" Sakura asked curiously.

"I dunno." Syaoran said honestly.

As they approached Sakura's home, Meiling grinned," YEPPIE! Guess what XIAO-LANG!" Meiling began.

"MEILING! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THAT HERE?!! WE'RE NOT IN CHINA!" Syaoran roared angrily.

"Sorry." Meiling said feeling sorry for her self.

"Is that what people call you in Hong Kong?" Sakura asked curiously.

"Uh...yeah...but I CAN'T STAND THAT NAME!" Syaoran said still angered.

"Well, as I was saying, yesterday I finished packing soo...I can stay with you guys today!" Meiling said cheerfully making Syaoran groan.

Chapter 24: The Last Card (Part 2) Attack of the Clones

(by Melissa, added on 6 June 2002 11:00 PM)

All the three of the kids sat around the living room carpet in their usual circle.

"So...that's how you find the greatest common factors?" Sakura asked in uncertainty.

"Yep! I must admit Kinomoto you're a real quick learner!"

"Arigatou Li-Kun.

"Okay, I'm going to the washroom, I'll be right back!" Meiling said as she raced up to the bathroom.

"Syaoran I'm sorry." Sakura said modestly.

"What? Why? For what?" Syaoran asked.

"Well...because of what I said to you the first time you came to my house. Remember? I said you were the worst person I ever met, and I called you a jerk and stuff."

FLASHBACK

Sakura got angrier, "THE CARDS ARE MINE! THEY'RE SAKURA CARDS NOW! YOU ARE 3 YEARS TOO LATE MR.LI! NOW TELL ME HOW YOU KNOW ABOUT MY ROOM! DID YOU SPY ON ME??!!" Sakura was practically screaming now.

Syaoran felt the tension rise, "W-Well...u-um...I might have...peeked..."

Before he could say further more he felt a hard stinging blow on the side of his face. Sakura had slapped him!

"LI SYAORAN! DON'T YOU EVER COME NEAR ME AGAIN! LEAVE ME, AND MY CARDS ALONE! YOU ARE THE WORST PERSON I HAVE EVER MET, YOU...YOU...YOU PERVERT!!"

  END FLASHBACK

"So...I'm sorry. You really aren't a bad guy. You're really kind and smart."

Syaoran was shocked and confusion swarmed all over him. 'She thinks I'm a nice guy?!' he thought to himself.

"Well...Kinomoto-chan...I guess...I-I.. I'm...I'm sorry too. I WAS acting like a jerk, and I shouldn't have called you baka. You proved to be otherwise. Truce?" Syaoran asked holding out his hand for her to shake.

"Truce!" Sakura said as she cheerfully shook his hand.

Suddenly the doorbell rang. Sakura raced up to answer it.

"Oh...Kinichi wa Heather-chan! How are y---"

Heather shoved passed her and into the house. She stared at her in panic and it was obvious that something happened. Her face was pale and her eyes wide.

"Okay! Sakura-chan, Li-Kun, I've got something important to tell you!"

"W-What is it?" Sakura asked nervously.

"First of all I had this weird dream two nights ago and everyone was there! I think there is going to be another Final Testament!"

"REALLY?! ME TOO!" Sakura said.

"But that's not all! Second of all I didn't think you'd be home this afternoon!"

"Why would you think that?" asked Syaoran.

"Well... just now, I saw you both downtown together. Sakura was breaking windows and vandalizing everything. Syaoran was beating people up and using element cards on innocent 5-year olds!" Heather said rushed.

"W-WHAT?! WE'D NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT!!!" Syaoran shouted.

"Yah...that's what I thought too. It was either you guys were going wacko or have twins or something. That's why I thought I'd come here and check on you guys."

Heather said taking a sigh.

"Oh...no! You mean...it's another moon-drop card??!" Sakura gasped.

"Yes...I think. It might be the clone card." Heather said sadly," I didn't'  think it would do that---I mean, THEY'RE DESTROYING THE ENTIRE CITY!!!"

"But...now our reputation is at stake!" Sakura pointed out.

"That's exactly why we must stop it!" Syaoran yelled.

Just then Meiling stampeded from upstairs, "Okay I'm---who are you?" Meiling asked Heather cautiously forgetting they had met previously.

"I'm Heather. Who are you?"

"I'm Meiling, Syaoran Li's fiancée!" Meiling said as she hugged Li making him grunt," SO BACK OF GIRLY!"

Heather sweat dropped.

"Okay...now that we're all acquainted, let's go seal a card!" Syaoran said demanding to save his reputation.

"Oh...wait, I got to call Tomoyo. She said that she made the kawaiiest outfit ever for my next capture." Sakura reminded.

At that point everyone crashed to the floor anime style.

“Sakura…we don’t have enough time.” Insisted Heather.

“Hai! As much as Tomoyo loves making you outfits, we really need to save innocent people from getting hurt!” agreed Syaoran.

“Oh…alright.” Sakura finally decided.

Chapter 25: Facing The Clones

(by Kawaii Chibi, added on 7 June 2002 10:38 PM)

Sakura, Syaoran, Heather and Meiling hurry down to the shops, where their twins are doing mean things.

'Release!' Sakura bellowed, summoning her staff.

Syaoran watches her in amazement, looking pretty as the magic surrounded her. He shakes it off, ordering his sword to come out from its orb form.

'Stop right there!' Sakura cried to her other self.

The fake Sakura stops smashing windows and swivels around to glare at Sakura. Her eyes are a dark grey.

'Windy! Tie a chain around them and stop their destruction! Windy!' Sakura called as the beautiful Windy spirit flew from her contained form and wrapped herself around the two clones of Syaoran and Sakura  in a bond.

'Spike Card!' Syaoran took out Spike, 'Weaken them! Spike!' the Spike spirit swam from the card and attacked the two figures.

Meiling and Heather were watching in anticipation, wishing they could do something as well, but Meiling had no power, and it just wasn't Heather's place to butt in.

Sakura ran forward and raised the cane. 'Return to your original form! Moon-drop car-' she couldn't continue, as her evil self lifted a leg and kicked Sakura in the stomach, sending her back and smashing into a glass window.

People were screaming, all running away in panic and confusion.

'No!' Syaoran yelled, as Windy gave way and the two menacing copies were free again.

They both advance on Sakura, running over to her limp body and began to kick her.

'STOP IT! GET OFF HER!' Syaoran hollered desperately, running over to them and trying to pull them off.

The evil Syaoran shoves him off. Syaoran falls to the ground on his back.

'Stop it!' he shouted angrily, getting up again, taking out Spike. 'SPIKE! STAB THEM!'

The Spike card flew heavy knocks at both of them, they turned around with malicious grins, Sakura was left, groaning weakly on the ground, clutching her stomach in vain.

'No...' she croaked, her emerald eyes welding with tears, 'Don't...hurt him...'

'No! You'll pay!' Syaoran screamed, taking out a fire ofuda, 'FIRE DRAGON! COME TO HER AID!'

A flurry of waves traveled from his sword, surrounding them and they howled in pain.

Meiling and Heather shrieked in terror, as the false forms of Sakura and Syaoran began to melt, looking extremely repulsive.

Syaoran runs over to Sakura, tucking an arm around her waist so she could stand. He leads her over to the right position and she raises her staff timidly.

'Return to your original form, Mood-drop Card!' she breathed, dropping the wand as she did, but it held itself in mid-air as the card was finally sealed, then she and her wand collapsed to the ground. The card flew to Syaoran and plopped into his shirt pocket.

'No!' Syaoran cried again, catching her clumsily.

Sakura struggles to open her eyes, she gazes dimly at Syaoran as he is frowning in angst.

'Are you ok?' he asked gently, holding her around the waist and supporting her head.

'...I'm ok...been better though,' she answered softly, a tiny smile sat upon her lips.

People that had seen the whole ordeal were cowering in a small huddle.

Heather uses her Sleep card, to make them all fall asleep and make them think it was all a dream, but she wasn't sure how they would repair all the damage. she took out Time, rewinding the damage done and the card was already sealed.

Meiling was scowling jealously, as Syaoran lifted Sakura carefully to her feet, supporting her by an arm wrapped around her slender waist. He went a light shade of pink, touching her that way would have had the same affect on any boy.

'We'd better go,' Syaoran said with a weary sigh.

Sakura nods her head weakly, her eyes lowered slightly. 'Yeah...'

'Well, hurry up!' Meiling snapped, her hands placed on her hips, 'We haven't got all year you know.'

 Hugging each other ^^

*

They brought Sakura back to Syaoran's house, as Touya would have a fit seeing his little sister in that condition.

Sakura lay quietly on a white sheeted bed, her eyes shut calmly, her auburn hair spreading out around her face, she took steady breathes.

Syaoran walked into the dim room, holding an old leather-based book. He began to chant in Chinese text. Sakura began to glow, his amber eyes were bronzed by the soft blue light she was radiating.

Sakura's eyes open again. She is fully recovered, all her wounds are gone. Syaoran shuts the book and approaches her with a concerned look.

'Are you feeling better?' he asked cautiously.

Sakura bobbed her head gently, a sweet smile spreading across her lips, 'Never felt better...'

'But you said before that you had felt better,' Syaoran joked, mimicking what she had said after being wounded.

Sakura shakes her hand slowly, her eyes calm. Syaoran stands just beside the bed, his face showing no signs of expression.

'Are you sure?' he repeated just to be sure.

'Mmhm.' she hummed, leaning over and surprising him with a tender hug. 'Li-kun, don't worry about me, ok?'

'S-Sure,' he stammered, dropping the book he was holding and returning her embrace.

*

Meiling and Heather are watching from the doorway.

Meiling's ruby eyes are flickering darkly with absolute hate towards Sakura.

Heather is quite touched by the scene, holding a hand to her chest and sighing dreamily. 'How kawaii...' she marveled, eyes shining with delight.

'I hate that Kinomoto...' Meiling cringed, a vain popping from her head. 'Syaoran-kun's mine!'

Yelan and Syaoran's sisters all sit in the living room, laughing among themselves, knowing what will happen soon...

Chapter 26: The Final Judgement...AGAIN??!!(part 1)

(by Melissa, added on 10 June 2002 06:06 PM)

Sakura raced down the stairs, grabbed her bag and raced out the door.

"Bye dad!" Sakura called as another school day began, and as usual she was late. She slipped on her roller blades, elbow, knee and wrist guards and dashed down the street.

When she finally got to class everyone was seated and class was about to begin. Sakura plopped into her seat and gave a sigh of relief.

"Oh, I am so glad I'm not very late this time."

Tomoyo giggled, "Youre getting better Sakura! Remember, school starts at 7:00."

They both laughed at the thought. Suddenly Mr.Terada, their teacher pounded into the room. He stood at his desk and eyed each of the students in the room.

Another day had begun. Sakura noticed Syaoran sitting behind her and grinned.

"Hey Syaoran! Thanks for last night!"

Syaoran blushed remembering yesterday's accident. A couple of girls sitting around them giggled.

"Last night, huh?" Said a girl wickedly.

"What happened? Anything we should know about? Anything personal?" asked another.

Sakura blushed, "Huh??..oh...OOOH!! NO NO!! I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!!" Sakura squealed feeling so embarrassed.

The girls kept on giggling.

"Yah! Suure." One said sarcastically.

"Girls! I am teaching a lesson! Please face the front and keep quiet!" bellowed Mr. Tereda.

All the students immediately turned around and kept quiet, but Sakura was sure she could still hear them snickering at her.

Chapter 27: The Final Judgement...AGAIN??!!(part 2)

(by Melissa, added on 10 June 2002 09:09 PM)

The day was basically over and it was Friday. Sakura, Meiling, Tomoyo and Syaoran were walking home together as usual.

Sakura decided that that very night she would have a sleepover since it was Friday and the next day was the bear convention and she invited over Heather.

As usual everyone was seated in a circle on the carpet. All snacking as they struggled to finish their homework.

"YES! I CAN DO THIS! GEOMETRY IS SOO EASY!!" Sakura exclaimed cheerfully.

"I told you you could." Tomoyo smiled sweetly.

"So when are we going to get this party started?" asked Meiling impatiently.

"Later. Sleep over starts at 9, but since Syaoran is here now, I decided that we all come early." Sakura said happily.

Time went by and it was eventually nine. Everyone had their night clothes on and their other stuff. Syaoran began to head to the door.

Meiling looked at him in shock, "S-Syaoran? Why are you leaving?!"

"Well...I can't stay..." Syaoran began blushing.

"Why not?" Sakura asked sadly.

"Cause...well...you're all girls...and well...I'm...not...and sleepover...and..."

Immediately knowing where he was going Sakura nodded sadly in dismay. "Oh...yah...."

"But! Syaoran!" Meiling cried sadly.

Syaoran was half way to the door but suddenly paused.

Sakura dropped the bag of chips of which she was holding and froze.

Meiling and Tomoyo looked at each other in confusion, wondering what was wrong.

Heather turned to her and stuttered, "S-S-Sakura...I sense---"

"A POWERFUL MAGICAL FORCE!!!!!" out from no where came kero in his true form.

"You all sense it too?" Syaoran asked seriously.

Sakura nodded slowly, "Yes...I do...it's coming from..."

"TOKYO TOWER!!" Heather gasped.

"Tokyo tower?!" Tomoyo and Meiling mimicked in unison.

"Yes....I sense...something important will happen...something big!" Cerberus said deep in thought.

"Well let's go check it out!!" Heather stated ready to go.

"WAIT SAKURA!!" Tomoyo screamed as if she was about to die, "you must wear this costume!" Tomoyo held out a beautiful pink outfit which sparkled as the light hit it.

   Everyone groaned.

  "Oh...Tomoyo." Sakura sighed sweat dropping.

***At Tokyo tower***

Sakura, Syaoran and Heather stood in the park staring in bewilderment. Cerberus, Cabal (Heather's guardian beast), Tomoyo and Meiling at their side. Sakura was wearing a tight pink dress which ruffled at the waist. A long cape was flowing from her back. Syaoran wore his typical battle costume.

Sakura gasped, "It's just like my dream!"

Around her was Kaho, with her kaho bell standing still and confident. Beside her was Yelin and her four daughters.

"Syaoran?!" gasped Yelin

"Mother?!" gasped Syaoran

"Mrs. Li?! Mazuki-Sensei?!" Sakura gasped

"Sakura?!" gasped Syaoran's sisters.

"Who?!!" asked Heather puzzled.

"What is going on??!!" Sakura asked unsure why everyone was standing there.

"I cannot say...you will know soon enough." Yelin said simply with a stern smile.

Suddenly, the sky went dark. The wind blew violently.

"It's...Hue!" shouted Cabal in a serious tone of voice.

A female being stood before them, her face familiar but still quite distant. She wore a long white gown with golden lining. Her hair long, golden and flowing. She did not smile.

"I am Hue, the guardian of the moon-drop cards. I am here to decide who shall be the master or mistress of the cards. I am aware that Heather Moon has these cards. However, I sense she isn't the only one."

Everyone stared in fear and caution not sure what to think.

"Who will be my first competitor?" Hue asked eyeing the crowd.

Everyone stared at Hue, not moving nor speaking.

"Since none of you will go, I will call you up. Heather Moon, your turn."

Suddenly, Heather moon's body was lifted higher and higher into the air, her body, limp and lifeless.

She suddenly found herself on top of Tokyo tower. Heather stared in front of her confidently not showing a sign of fear or terror.

"So, Heather Moon, you appear very confident with yourself.

You will all use all the cards in your possession to defeat me."

"Bring it on!" Heather shouted ready to take anything Hue could throw.

Quickly, Hue shot balls of fire at Heather--flames spluttered out shooting right at her.

" AHHHH!!! HEY!! OUCH!" Heather screeched trying to dodge the painful blows.

"S-Stop!! P-P-Please!!" Heather struggled to grab the cards from her pocket.

However the flames rushed out upon her and Hue didn't hesitate to speed it up.

"S-Shock card! Release and----AHHHHHHHHHH!!!" before Heather continue, within a flash, she was falling from the tower and she landed on the ground with a thump.

Everyone surrounded her, staring at her in shock.

"NOO!! Heather! PLEASE! GET UP!" Sakura screamed, tears streaming down her face. She felt fire in her eyes.

"OKAY HUE!! YOU HURT MY FRIEND! YOU' LL PAY! I CHALLENGE YOU NEXT!" Sakura shouted, with every ounce of confidence she had.

"Very well Miss Kinomoto. You shall be next."

Suddenly, Sakura's body was lifted higher and higher into the air, her body, limp and lifeless.

She suddenly found herself on top of Tokyo tower.

Sakura's eyes widened as she observed every detail of the scene before her. It reminded her of something....

****Flash Back****

Sakura stood worriedly on Tokyo Tower holding her Clow sealing wand. Sakura felt her pink cape blowing in the wind as she nervously stared in front of her. To her side was a large lion like beast who seemed strong and brave. A tall woman with long brownish, reddish hair stood in front of her with a strange bell. Her face courageous and ready to withstand anyone. Beside the woman was a tall, human like being with large angel-like wings. His hair, long, white and flowing and his face stern and hard. Beside him was an exact replica of him but it had golden coloured hair and a goldish coloured costume. To the foot of the tower was a tall woman with long, black hair. There were four girls at her side with straight brown hair long and short. In front of them all was a boy with a face full of concern and worry. He wore a green, white and gold Chinese outfit with a golden sash around his waist. Tucked behind his back was a large shiny sword. The boy had messy chestnut hair and big amber eyes which were full of panic, yet determination.

**End of flash Back***

It was all too familiar.

" I was right! It's exactly like my dream!" Sakura looked nervously up at Hue as she snickered mercilessly.

"Alright, Kinomoto Sakura, You will all use all the cards in your possession to defeat me. Hopefully, you'll be a more worthy opponent then, Miss. Moon over there."

Sakura growled angrily, "You hurt my friend! I'll never forgive you for that! I'll will be a better opponent!"

"We'll see." Hue snickered, this time shooting lighting bolts.

"Water card! Release and---" Sakura began taking out her card, but before she could finish she was hit with a bolt and was falling off the tower.

"FOOL!! I NEVER SAID SAKURA OR CLOW CARDS!! I SAID MOON-DROP CARDS!!"

Sakura fell rapidly screaming along the way, this time Syaoran caught her.

"SAKURA!!" Syaoran and Tomoyo called anxiously in unison.

Syaoran gently laid her onto the ground.

"Are you ok?" Tomoyo asked trying to be sympathetic although it was obvious she wasn't. Her body was weak and covered in bruises and sores.

Sakura gently opened her eyes, speaking softly--voice quivering, "L-Li-Kun...don't do it...don't fight her, she's too strong." Sakura's eyes closed shut again.

Syaoran felt his face turn red in rage and frustration.

"OKAY HUE!! I'VE HAD ENOUGH!! FIRST YOU HURT HURT MOON-CHAN, NOW KINOMOTO!! YOU SURELY WILL PAY!! I DEMAND TO FIGHT YOU!!!" Syaoran glared at her hard, angered and filled with pure hate.

"Very well, Mr. Li." Hue said slyly.

Suddenly, Syaoran's body was lifted higher and higher into the air, his body, limp and lifeless.

He suddenly found himself on top of Tokyo tower.

" Mr. Li, you will all use all the cards in your possession to defeat me. Maybe you will be worth my time."

Syaoran growled. "Oh yes Hue, after what you just did to my friends, I assure you I will be!"
