hapter 6 : Uh oh...

'Young man,' Yelan began calmly as they were seated in their
living room, 'please tell me what all the fuss was about?'
'Mother, I...' Syaoran started, but he really didn't know
what he would say.
'You had to be rude, again, didn't you?!' her voice trembled
with rage, 'And this is how you treat others?'
'No, mother, I...' his voice sounded weak and he winced.
'Sorry, mother...'
Yelan frowns at her only son and sighs, 'Syaoran dear...I
only want the best for you...but it is too late.'
Syaoran's eyes widen and he gapes at her. 'Y-You know?!'
Yelan nods her head timidly, folding her arms. 'Yes, and I
believe that she deserves them and you must let her be. Cerberus has taken into
good judgement, as well as Yue,' she continued, eyeing her son warningly.
'B-But mother, I thought that as his descendent, I would have
rights for the Clow Cards,' he argued in frustration, stilling feeling the pain
of Sakura's slap on his cheek.
'Sakura Cards, dear,' her said seriously, 'and don't you dare
approach that sweet, young girl with that attitude, or you'll be moving to
another school.'
'But mother!' he retorted as if having a fit, 'I must!'
'Li Syaoran! We all hold you to high regard as the future
leader of the Li-clan and I expect you to fullfill the Elders and your father's
wishes...' her eyes grow watery and she looks down at her lap, 'he wanted you to
be stronger than he was...please don't disappoint him...'
Syaoran can also feel the tears rise to his eyes, 'How can
you bring father into this?! He's been dead for years!'
'It was his wish...' she looked up at him again with a tiny
smile, 'I only wanted you to be happy.'
Syaoran bobs his head steadily, lifting himself wearily to
his feet. 'But...if I was not destined to be the Clow's master...why am I here?'
Yelan is the only one whom knows the answer to his question
but does not give it to him as she may destroy what fate has already planned.
'You will see, my son...but first, learn to get along with
the Kinomoto's, especially fujistaka's daughter. If you wish to become aquainted
with the cards you must befriend it's mistress.' sge explained wisely.
Syaoran doesn't understand but does as his mother wishes for
he would never disobey her.

Sakura has just called Tomoyo up on the phone, explaining
what has just happened.
'Can you believe him?! He is such a pervert! I can't believe
he's our neighbour!' Sakura said in a rage. 'The nerve of that baka...'
'What?!' Tomoyo exclaimed, 'Your NEIGHBOUR?!'
'Yes, and can you believe he's actually oposite my bedroom?
He can practically see right through to me!'
'Oh dear!' Tomoyo cried in alarm, 'How can anyone be so
inconsiderate?'
'And get this...he didn't even know that I've already become
the Mistress of the cards, if he's that dense, he's still probably trying to
plot against me. He doesn't even know that Kero-chan is the guardian, just some
stuffed animal.'
'Hey!' Kero piped up, lookinf away from the tv screen as it
played a videogame, 'Don't call me that!'
'Sorry,' Sakura waved apologetically, 'I was only explaining
to Tomoyo-chan.'
'Sakura-chan, and your father actually set up studying times
together after school?' Tomoyo repeated.
'Yes, everyday until I improve my maths,' she groaned, 'how
can father do this to me? And then Onii-chan nearly strangled him to death...'
'Ohohoho, Touya-san is very angry with Li-kun, ne?' Tomoyo
giggled.
Sakura can't help but smile, 'Yes, well, I have to go now.
See you at school tomorrow.'
'Goodbye, Sakura-chan,' they both hung up.
*
Syaoran gives a heavy sigh as he enters his bedroom and
switches on the light, he turns his head around and sees that his curtains are
pulled back. He slumps over to draw them closed when he sees that Sakura's light
is on and her window curtain's are also open.
'It can't hurt to look...' he shrugged simply, peeking his
head behind the curtain.
Sakura has just placed her phone on the dresser, and picks up
the brush and begins to brush her medium length hair. She begins to unzip the
back of her dress.
Syaoran feels himself blush again, glad that she hasn't
noticed that he is watching.
'...But this doesn't make you a pervert, does it?' he asked
himself, shyly trying to cover his eyes, but still wanted to see.
Sakura steps out of her dress, she is wearing an underskirt.
She walks over to her bedroom door and shuts it behind her.
Five minutes have gone by, Syaoran has only seen Kero-chan
screaming at its game, throwing the controller across the room, tearing around
Sakura's belongs and kicking her stuffed animals.
'No wonder her room is such a mess...' Syaoran said with a
smirk. He suddenly stops thinking as Sakura has walked back into the room again,
a towel wrapped around her slim body, her hair damp, seeming longer when wet.
'Whoa...' he breathed, amazed at how pretty she was,
entranced by her perfect body shape and her green eyes shone brightly from her
room's light.
Sakura seems to say something to Kero-chan, approaching her
window without looking directly out of it and pulling the curtains shut.
Syaoran slumps back onto his bed, gazing up at the cealing;
not realizing that his heart was pounding noisily into his ears.
'She's...strangely beautiful...' he murmured, the light
making his glassy eyes water. He shakes his head furiously, smacking himself in
the forehead. 'What am I saying?! I'm not attracted to her...am I?'
He shakes his head in disbelief, 'Why did we come here if my
purpose isn't for to master the cards?'
*
Sakura blinks, sensing a sudden zap of green energy flicker
by.
'Huh?' she breathed, turning around to look at her window.
'What is it, Sakura-chan?' Kero asked, now it was calm down.
'I just felt something strange,' she thought outloud, still
staring at her window. 'Could it be...'
'Yeah, that kid,' Kero inquired, frowning, 'Just be careful
around him. You don't know what he'll try if he's still after your cards.'
'Thank you, Kero-chan,' she sighed, rubbing her hair with a
hand towel.
'He's up to something...destiny has something in store...'
Kero pondered, floating over to the television to see if it can try and defeat
Kirbi in Super Smash Bros. again.

It was another school day at Tomeda Junior Highschool. Sakura
sat in her seat twiddling her thumbs and tapping her pen slightly. Never had any
class been so boring. Sakura stared at Mr.Terada as he drowned on and on about
the importance of physics and what makes science so exciting.(Terada teaching
science? Go figure!) Sakura was so bored that she fell asleep.
Syaoran stared at the back of Sakura's head intently. Syaoran
watched as her snores got louder and louder and louder. Syaoran felt his anger
rise as the infuriating sound of her snores got more and more annoying. Then
with the sharpest part of his pencil he jabbed her in the back.
"Kinomoto! Get up!"Syaoran growled under his
breath.
At the shock of the prick from the pencil Sakura let out a
loud yelp, which had everyone in the class stare at her.
"Ow! You jerk!" Sakura glared at Syaoran and then
turned back to face the front of the classroom.
Syaoran glared back, "Well, next time, stay awake, baka!"
For the rest of the day, Sakura and Syaoran didn't breathe a
word to each other, until it was home time.
Syaoran stood alone by a large sakura tree by Tomeda
highschool. Syaoran tapped his foot and frowned as he made a glance at his
watch.
"Ooh. Where is that baka Sakura?"Syaoran said
impatiently.
Sakura's POV
I couldn't BELIEVE Syaoran was going to be my math tutor!
Everyday until my grades improve, I am supposed to have him tutor me. I go, meet
him outside the highschool, by the large sakura tree by the gate. We'll walk
over to my place and then he will start the lesson. All this played through my
mind over and over again. I panicked as I was late for meeting him. I promised
my father early in the morning that I would try to be really kind to Syaoran as
he was a guest to our home.
Still, although kindess was my nature, being kind to SYAORAN
was kind of hard to achieve.
Normal POV
Sakura rushed up to Syaoran from around the corner.
"Gomen Li-Kun! I'm sorry I'm late, it's just that Tomoyo
had music rehersal and I was waiting for her to finish, then Eriol wanted to
give me something, and then Takashi was telling me this really cool story
and--"
Syaoran rolled his eyes sarcastically, "Yah, sure.
You're always late Kinimoto. Don't waste my time by explaining." Syaoran
then walked away leading to Sakura's place. Sakura felt so hurt. She didn't mean
to be late, and he hadn't even given her a chance to explain. Sakura knew the
be-nice-to-Syaoran thing was going to be much harder than she thought.

Sakura decided that it was best to make Syaoran comfortable," I'm
going into the kitchen to make us some snacks. Okay Li-Kun?" Sakura asked
hoping he would say something NICE for once.
"Yah, sure." Syaoran said in an uncaring voice.
Sakura danced into the kitchen to make some snacks leaving
Syaoran by himself.
*****
Syaoran sat still not wanting to damage anything valuable.
Quickly he noticed a small picture frame on the end table. He then got curious
and snatched it up. It was a photograph of a beautiful woman with long dark wavy
hair, a gentle smile and bright emerald eyes. Immediately Syaoran realized it
was Sakura's mother.
"So, that's where she gets her good looks from. Her mother. Quite
fascinating!" Syaoran said still holding the frame. Suddenly out from the
kitchen came Sakura. She cheerfully skipped into the room holding a tray full of
chips and and a couple of other stuff. Syaoran stared at her in amazement. Never
had he seen someone so cheerful.
"What's quite fascinating?" Sakura asked in
curiosity.
Syaoran blushed,"Uh..t-the..um..curtains...they're..uh..silk."
Syaoran lied knowing that Sakura did not believe him.
Sakura stared at him puzzled,"Um..Syaoran...they're
cotton."
Syaoran blushed in embarrasment.
"Anyway, Kinomoto, let's begin with these
equations." Syaoran said quickly.
Sakura sat down across from Syaoran and looked at the math book.
"So, what do you not understand?" Syaoran asked.
"Um..algebra. How do I figure out 5+n-6=9? I
don't get that.
Syaoran blinked in suprise, "What?! That is so easy! You
really are baka, aren't you?"
Sakura shot him a glare, "LOOK! ARE YOU GOING TO HELP ME, OR
STAND HERE AND SIT THERE AND CALL ME BAKA ALL DAY??!!"Sakura was
practically screaming.
The two were about begin another fight when suddenly Syaoran
paused in silence. Sakura looked at him at him as if he had grown a horn on his
head.
"What? What is it?"
"Don't you sense that?!" Syaoran said as if he was
lost in thought.
"Sence what?!" Sakura asked as if she had no clue
what he was speaking of.
"It's a clow card! GOD! WHAT KINDA CARDS MASTER ARE
YOU??!! YOU'RE SO BAKA YOU PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SENSE A CLOW CARD EVEN
IF IT HIT YOU ON THE HEAD!"
Sakura groaned, "Number 1) I'M NOT BAKA!!!!!!!!!!!
Number 2) I AM TOO CARDS MISTRESS! Number 3) HOW CAN IT BE A CLOW CARD IF THERE
ARE ONLY 52 CARDS AND I CAUGHT THEM ALL?!!" Sakura screamed back at Syaoran.
Suddenly from upstairs Kero came flying down from upstairs,
"SAKURA DO YOU SENSE A CLOW CAR--HEY POTATO CHIPS! WHY
WASN'T I INVITED TO--WHAT THE--WHY IS THE KID HERE??!!"
Syaoran sweat dropped then his eyes widened in shock as he
pointed at Kero.
"STUFFED ANIMALS DON'T FLY... MY EYES AREN'T DECEIVING
ME...SO...W-W-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING??!!"
Chapter 9: (title writers block)
(by Heather Moon, added on 31 May 2002 10:35 PM)
"So I'm a Thing!" kero growled as he latched onto
syaorans fingers with his teeth "AHH GET OFF YA DERANGED STUFFED TOY"
Syaoran said shaking his finger
"You two stop...." sakura said in a low ordering
voice and the two did "It...is a clow card" she said and she heard a
mysterious voice in her head that sounded like clow reeds…but not quite
"You are correct Sakura, You have 9 sealed cards to capture, but the last
will come much later" the voice said before it faded away "A sealed
card" sakura said aloud and kero blinked "Huh? sealed card?' he asked
"Yeah...Clow reed just told me there are nine...at least
I think it was Clow Reed..." Sakura said and blinked before heading out
side, where there were spikes lodged in the middle of the street "What in
the-" she was cut off when a spike flew towards her and someone knocked her
out of the way "Baka! Keep you eyes open" Syaoran said and pulled out
his sword releasing a bolt of lightning on a spike flying towards him. Sakura
blinked and pulled out her key "oh key of the star, with powers burning
bright, release the staff, and shine your light! Release!" she yelled as
the key formed into the staff, and she called on the shield card "Kero-chan!"
Sakura yelled, and Kero appeared transformed "So the stuffed animal is the
guardian beast" Syaoran commented and Kero growled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(by Melissa, added on 31 May 2002 11:17 PM)

"HOOOEE!!!!!!!!" Sakura squeaked as the spike came
again missing her by only quarter of an inch. Sakura quickly searched through
her pocket in search of some kind of card, "Jump Card!" Sakura cried.
Quickly, she leaped through the air trying to dodge the card. However the spikes
were fast! One spike had her cornered and was about to come after her
forcefully. Sakura felt her eyes water, never had she felt so scared, "HOOOE-EEEH!!!"
Sakura squealed in absolute terror. Syaoran suddenly raced towards the first
spike card he saw. He then reached for his sword again and shouted in determination, "Element,
LIGHTNING!!" From the clouds, an enormous hurl of lightning jolted the
spikes. They immediately froze in place.
"KINOMOTO! SEAL THE CARD!" Syaoran yelled at her
anxiously.
Sakura nodded, but was still fearful that the card would act
up again, "Spike Card! Return to your power confined! Spike Card!" With
that, the card transformed to its true form then suctioned into a card. The card
then floated into the hands of...SYAORAN!
"W-What! K-Kero! Why didn't it come to me?!" Sakura
asked in surprise.
"The card doesn't always go to the one who seals it." noted
Kero.
"Well thanks for saving me. That's really nice of
you." Sakura held her hand out to shake his hand.
Syaoran's eyes widened and he blinked in shock. 'Why is she
thanking me' thought Syaoran. Syaoran shook his head, "What do you mean SAVE
you? Sheesh Kinomoto, you're pathetic. You should have heard yourself out
there."
Sakura's eyes began to water again, "Oh…Li-Kun."
Sakura felt hurt, her head lowered and eyes whelling up in tears. 'Why does he
always put me down so much? I'm trying so hard to be nice.' Sakura thought to
her self silently.
"Li-Kun, i-it's getting late. Maybe you should go
home." Sakura said coldly, not even looking at him, tears running down her
face.
Syaoran was surprised. 'Sakura's kicking me out?!' Syaoran
felt bad. He had really hurt her feelings. Here she was trying to be nice, and
he was just putting her down. Maybe it was about time he started to be nicer to
her.
"Sorry Kinomoto-chan. I'll go. Good night." Syaoran
immediately left not wanting to say more.
