Another thing to keep in mind when making a webpage, don't load it with too many graphics, because it will slow it down! Don't use flash because it will have the same effect. Your main layouts should have images not animated gifs, and if you do have images, please make sure they are optimized and not very big in size. Optimizing an image makes it download faster.
Example:
Not optimized: -downloading time: 3 sec
Optimized: -downloading time: 1 sec
See the difference? Optimizing an image makes it lighter because it reduces its colors. Don't worry you won't notice the color reduction, all my graphics are optimized and they look good.
You can optimize in Photoshop in the following way:
1-open image
2-save for web
3-select the tab that says optimized and make sure the optimized check box is selected.
4- save- and you are done.
