Despite being a miko at a Shinto shrine, Rei attends the Catholic T*A girls school, where she is looked up to by many girls. Hobbies include songwriting, collecting manga, and archery.
As a person she is considered a very difficult person to know. Despite arguments with her friends (namely one Tsukino Usagi), she is a loyal friend to those who are fortunate enough to call her such. It is rumored that in her past life as Mars, the guardian of Princess Serenity, she made a vow of chastity to her princess. However, no one but Mars and Princess Serenity could answer that question.
I have referenced the past life of Hino Rei-she was among Princess Serenity's court and guards sent to the future to be reborn.
In addition to her senshi abilities, Rei has the ability to dispel some evil spirits (AkuRyoTaiSan) and see into the future somewhat. Her powers as a senshi include the following:

Youma Taisan-A power used to repel evil spirits.
Fire Soul Bird
Mars Snake Fire
Burning Mandala/Mars Celestial Fire Surround-Summons a circle of fire to attack foes.
Mars Flame Sniper-A fiery arrow attack with her Mars Arrow.
As one may have guessed, Mars is a senshi of fire. She has also been called the senshi of war by Queen Serenity herself, which I think is only a fitting title. One must note that underneath the tough shell is a love for one's friends.
