The task of rescuing students already on the verge of giving up on themselves may be the most problematic of all. In a normal school environment where both the attention of the staff and the system of education itself is focused (albeit understandably) on the ordinary students who compose the majority of the classes, the small but always present number of outliers, sometimes known as "alternative students" or "outcasts," are destined to drown under the lack of guidance that in fact they need more than anyone else. The result is the rise of rebellious juvenile delinquents out for revenge against the society which they feel has let them down. Enter Onikage HS, the academy pledging to reverse this phenomenon.
At least, that's the exterior facade that this school uses. The true reason behind the founding and inception of Onikage HS is actually more personal than one would realize. The school itself is more like a dank, run down prison complex adorned around the edges of its walls with razor wire. If you think that the outside appearance is bad, wait until you actually enter the school grounds.
The front that the school puts up has made it the ideal school for parents to enroll/dump their troubled teens. In fact, it was the initial alma mater of a certain hard-boiled street fighter. In any case, the school, instead of reforming its students, takes the unstructured system of Sankaku HS and totally reverses its purpose and direction. Thereby, it creates an environment where illegal activities are promoted and covered up by the faculty. The gangs present on campus are actually supposed to represent the "clubs" the school has. The main gang on the campus, "Midnight Devils," for example, is the largest because they encompass all of the athletic sports on campus. The only traditional "club" on campus is the light in membership Kyudo Club.
Most of the gangs, as well as their captains, are in direct competition with the clubs at Sankaku HS and will jump at any chance to show up or attack them. The schools direct rivalry with Sankaku HS is most evident in the district wide "Kessen Tournaments" held in each major season. Student fighters from Onikage usually unleash their most brutal tactics against their rivals and make a covert, yet obvious effort to humiliate or outright kill them.
Long story short, Onikage HS is the antithesis of Sankaku HS not just in name, but in almost every other aspect and does a DAMN GOOD job of hiding it from the parents of the students as well as the district officials.
