The champion, Soujiro Takeshi, took Jax under his wing when he was 10. For the next 7 years, he trained in between school and studying under his parents. On the night that Jax was to graduate from Rosemont High, a jealous comrade of his parents' had sent an assassin to kill them. Jax came home to a bloody scene and found his parents hung from the living room ceiling. From within Jax a surge of rage erupted as within seconds, his home was reduced to flaming rubble.
Jax spent his summer mourning his parents and secluded from civilization. Jax's sudden new burst of power frightened him. When the time came, he returned from his seclusion and registered for the fall semester at Rosemont University. Jax returned to Soujiro to complete his training and recieve some insight on his new abilities. Jax eventually graduated from RU and went on to follow in his parents' footsteps. However, Jax wasn't satisfied with the confined position of teaching. He craved adventure to fuel his inner fire.
He then relocated and set up residence in Utopia City. There he would spend a few years making a living as a private investigator. However, after a big case went sour, the results nearly drove Jax insane. So, Jax left the country for parts unknown. We catch up with Jax as he has rekindled his thirst for archaeological expedition in the arid desert territories of Morocco. He is now 26 years old, and unaware of the coming battles which will reshape his destiny yet again.
