During his high school years, Nic continued to participate in athletics and played on his high school football team all four years. His continued interest in the gridiron kept him in shape. Meanwhile, he had managed to keep a constant eye on his studies, earning him a GPA of 3.7. When Dominic graduated from high school, he was awarded a full academic and athletic scholarship to Utopia State University where, to this day, "Saint Nic" continues to bring Christmas cheer to his school football team.
During his early college career, Nic became fascinated with anthropology and decided to study ancient cultures. This eventually lead to his wanting to become an archaeologist or anthropoligist. However, Nic found himself ill-equipped to even consider beginning the trips that needed to be made. He kept to his studies, literature and training, however hoping that one day, he'd be able to travel the world and fulfill his new dream.
One evening, during his sophomore year, Nic was noticed and approached by the head of the campus Technology department. Nic was convinced to volunteer to test out a prototype personal defense system, known as "Omega Gear." As Nic strapped on the crimson, lightweight plates, he realized that if the gear was successful, he may have the necessary equipment to study abroad as a full fledged anthropologist or even become an Explorer. The test was, indeed, successful and since Nic's enthusiasm and strong spirit inspired the professor, Nic was not only able to keep the "Omega Gear," he also got full sponsorship from the Tech department for his travels. Nic Bronson was on his way to becoming an Explorer!
