Those in the underground cities raised no objections, however. They grew to enjoy living as they were and didn't rely on technology as heavily as the people of Asgard. Soon, the Asgard Government became obsessed and arrogant with their advancement. So much so, that they incorporated a doctrine that holds them as being the superior people.
Due to their overreliance upon advanced technology and warring amongst the colonies in Asgard, their population began to dwindle. So began the mass transport of people from Midgard to Asgard for manual labor.
Unethical and unscrupulous activities on the part of the Asgard Government continued for centuries and soon, the Midgard Territories finally broke off all commercial and political contact with Asgard. This became known as The Territorial Division.
