At the peak of humanity's existence, the world was ablaze with technological marvels and prospertiy due to this was at an all-time high. Very few had realized that this newly acquired technological growth would stifle and eat away at the planet. Humanity's worst fears came to a head when war broke out amongst the world's superpowers. There were no winners and the aftermath of of the chaos was insurmountable. The remaining 15 percent of the human population began work on removing themselves from the drastically polluted surface of the planet. Subterranean cities were carved out of the caverns near the warmth of the core and wondrous aerial cities were erected in the stratasphere.
Meanwhile, the surface of the planet only continued to become more polluted and mutated. The pollution corrupted all life on the surface and thus turned it into a biological wasteland.
