As this series of anime continues to be viewed, I'd update my thoughts of it consistently!  So you could see how wrong I was from viewing the first 3 episodes till the end ^_^

My thoughts after viewing the first 3 episodes - 5/14/01

There are a several other antagonists that are depicted during the intro, but none of them have showed up yet in the episodes that I've watched thus far. But I truly think this is going to be an excellent anime where you could find everything you want in an anime. One that lives up to the standards set by Rurouni Kenshin.

There is of course an underlining story that unfolds bit by bit with each episode and each case Noir takes. I've only watched three episodes thus far and I could not find information on the anime anywhere on the web at all! If you know of any, please contact me! I'd love information, pictures, sounds, or anything from this excellent anime serie.

Since I can't read Japanese, I don't know the seiyuu behind each of the character. Nor the company that made this anime, or any practical information. All I know is HQA of EFNet released the three episodes that I've watched! Sure wish I've more of their kickass releases...

I hope one day, it'd be available either fansub or released in the US. If it comes, you can be sure to find out here ^_^ Till then, I'd go be a slave to HQA of EFNet I guess!

My thoughts after viewing up to the 7th episodes - 6/13/01

So far, the antagonists have not truly made their appearances yet.  From what I've heard, this is going to be one of the all female cast.  Whether it be the bad guys or the good guys!  The males are just target practices I suppose!  In the last couple of episodes, the "bad" girl made appearances inside a temple of sort and chanted about Noir.  Nothing not yet heard, but good to see her at least!  Not even sure if it is a girl actually <stares into space>

In the first three episodes, it seems as if during each episode, there are a lot of reflections and playbacks of what has already been seen, but this doesn't continue as we go on deeper into the series.  Each episode doesn't have an exact mechanism behind em as I first thought.  (They get mission, they do mission, and find out more on episode and Kirika never gets hurt)  Kirika isn't invincible afterall as seen in episode 7...  But, won't get further into that here.

Nothing has changed my opinion about the anime, I love it more than ever actually =) Although the plot development seems a bit slow, I feel that they are laying down a good foundation.  "Filler episodes" could only be said if I've read the manga and it isn't in the anime I suppose.  But I don't know the manga unfortunately.

I do have hopes for the future episodes... point of views that changes from that of Kirika and Mirielle to that of Soldat perhaps?  It'd be great to actually find out SOMETHING about the bad gals!  Mebbe they'd do that fer episode 8... who knows!  I looking forward to it =)

Oh!  Another thing -- in episode 7, blood finally makes an appearance ^_^

My thoughts after viewing up to the 12th episodes - 7/14/01

A month has passed and 5 more episodes have been fansubbed.  The story is progressing really fast during the last three episodes as we've gotten to know a lot about Chloe and how large Soldats really is.  The size of them seems incomprehensible.  As well as the power.  They seems to be involved in all aspects of things everywhere.

Not only that, it seems that Soldats work for the good of the people, not against.  Would it be right to call them evil?  It doesn't seem that way.  Perhaps Kirika is a programmed assassin gone renegade, hence the extermination order.  She is a threat to the society... imagine if she was found by an evil corporation first who promises her information if she kills for evil purposes.

In the last episode completely from the perspective of Chloe, I've find that the two supposed villains of the story aren't after all.  It is hard to find them on the wrong side when they so cheerfully greet one another.  However, the reason behind killing Raimun is unknown... to me, he has done nothing wrong really -- why kill him?  It seems wrong.  Yet if he accepts his fate so willingly, perhaps it isn't.  When Chloe kills Jeruna for Raimun (or part of her order) I just find that Chloe also have a sense of justice.

The next episode seems to putter off from the preview... the last three episodes shed a lot of light on the story and I think the writers are going to back off and do something like filler episodes again!

BAH BAH TO THEM!

My thoughts after viewing up to the 20th episodes - 9/06/01

Its been a while since I've seriously updated the site!  But that doesn't mean I'm not watching Noir episodes as they are being released from #Soldats.   Seems like #BakaMX have given up on releasing it!  Oh well <shrugs>

The story is coming close to a climax after so long.  The thread that links everyone have been revealed and all that's left is the final showdown.  Noir is an extension of the organization that is known as the Soldats.  Soldats formed long long ago back in the 1000 A.D when war rages on and no one was safe.  The reason why they were formed, as Altena tell the story to Chloe before bed time -- During the era, chaos reigned and many were killed... those that survived from the terror swore an oath after the realizatoin that the world will always be filled with evil ones.  They swore that they'd exact a revenge upon the world by spreading justice and saving the weak and the abused.  With absolute secrecy and loyalty, the Soldats spread into the world.

But, there are those now within Soldats, who enjoys their power too much, and wishes to maintain that power.  And because Altena's wish is to follow the dreams of Soldats and continue with what the original will of soldats... those that wish to maintain their power, moves to eliminate the threat.  The threat of Noir -- Kirika and Chloe.

Kirika and Chloe is the true noir, born to judge and to kill the injustice.  Kirika's memories were probably repressed and sent away so she could suffer through the trials to become that of Noir.

My thoughts thus far...  everything is coming together...  I've no real thoughts, except wanting episode 21 =)
