Act IX: I wish the same to you Akari and Miya go back to Earth where they are met by Hitoshi who has Ami, Fumi, and Yamaneko. "Hey!" He shouts as they meet him by the foundation of the new palace to be built on Earth. "Congratulations!" Akari and Miya both give Hitoshi a hug and then go to their little ones. Akari holds Fumi in her arms and looks up as the workers hurriedly build the palace. "I can't believe they made me empress," Akari says. "Well, who else would they choose?" Hitoshi asks. "You lead them." "But why didn't they choose you to lead?" Akari questions. "I told them right from the beginning I didn't want to be anything like emperor. I may know politics, but I don't have any lineage. As for you, you are a young woman who already has an heir." "Um, yeah, I guess so," Akari shyly responds. "But I really don't know that much about government." "Then select a good group of advisors," Hitoshi suggests. "Those last ones with Tsujimoto were scoundrels. They were causing more problems Tsujimoto was himself. Especially that Ennosuke Kano. Did you know he escaped while all the others have been caught and are being tried for treason?" "No, I didn't," both Akari and Miya reply. "I hope this doesn't cause problems for us," Miya says. "Don't worry," Hitoshi says. "His organization is completely dissolved, he has no influence anywhere. He will have to be in hiding just to stay alive." "Hey, Hitoshi?" "Yeah?" "Will you be, for what time you think you have left, my top advisor?" Akari asks. "I'd love to," Hitoshi answers. "Great." "Everything will be in order once the trials are over," he says. "Yeah, I suppose Tsujimoto and his advisors that were caught are going to be executed after the guilty verdict," Akari says sadly. "What's the problem?" Hitoshi questions. "They are the bad guys." "That doesn't make it right," Akari says. "Just let it go," Miya tells her. The two look at each other. "It may not be right, but it needs to be done. Seriously, you were lucky to catch him off guard and to have enough time to pin him. I am sure he would find a way out of jail if he had the chance." "Yeah, I guess you are right," Akari acknowledges. "Well, we better get going," Miya says. "Perhaps we can visit sometime." Miya takes Ami's hand and they turn to walk away. As they walk, Ami looks over her shoulder at the others. Akari decides on something. "Miya?" They stop walking and Miya turns back to look at Akari, "Yes?" "It may not be precisely what you dreamt your family to be," Akari begins. "But I'd be happy if you'd join Fumi and I as part of our family." A smile appears on Miya's face. Aim tugs on her arm, "Can we, sister?" Miya looks down at her, "Sure, Ami. Sure we can." "Yeah!" "Great," Akari says. "We'll be one happy family." "Yeah," Miya says. "I'd like that." Within weeks, the palace is finished. Glorious gardens decorate it's landscape. It is night, and the ‘family' sits in front of a fireplace. "This feels so nice," Miya comments. "Oh, look. Ami has fallen asleep." "She looks so cute like that," Akari says. "I think I'll put her in bed then go to bed myself," Miya says. "Good night." "Good night." Miya and Ami leave the room. Akari speaks, "It is nice, isn't it." She then looks down at Fumi who has fallen asleep in her arms, "And at least it is a safer world for you." A familiar rhythm enters the night sky as Akari hums a song her mother use to sing to her. "My son, this is my lullaby to you," Akari says as she looks up at the stars. "And, my love, I wish the same to you." As long as the sky stays blue As long as you always stay true Yet as the world crumbles beneath hates' weight I ask you, with my heart, "Will you please wait?" You are what I need to get through I do not want to lose you As green as the fields stretch far As gray as the city streets are You are not alone because I am here And as the night draws near please, do not fear If we stay close nothing is wrong With each other we belong
