Arkeno walks into a nearby bar carrying his glaive on one side and the dog Chuuwa walking on the other. He sits down and orders a meal. When it arrives he decides to give some to Chuuwa. As he leans over to hand the food to Chuuwa, a pendant dangles from his neck. A group of three men sitting next to him eye the pendant. "That's a pretty pendant you got there, young man," one of the men say. "Thanks, I meant to return it to a friend...but I forgot." "Well, we are just enthusiasts for interesting artifacts," the second one says. "Your pendant looks like an interesting artifact." "Yes, it is," Arkeno responds. "Would it happen to be an isis?" the first one asks. Arkeno looks at the men with surprise, "Ah, yeah, it is." "Oh boy," the third one comments, "This guy here is big on the isis." "Really?" Arkeno asks only half interested. "Yeah," the first one says. "There is a neat story behind it. Would you like to hear it?" "No," the other two comment, but Arkeno nods. "Well," the man begins. "There is an old temple near here, at the top of the side of the crater on the east. No one is sure about it's origin. Our race has only been this far out into space for at most three or four years. The best anyone has been able to come up with is that if it is of human creation, then there was another past time when technology was great. Perhaps they could have reached this area when Pluto passed near Earth, but the chances are unlikely." Arkeno leans over to give Chuuwa a little more, but continues to watch the man as he continues. "It is said that there is a special isis that when placed in a certain area within the temple, can unleash a great dragon." Arkeno snaps to complete attention and interest. "No one knows what the dragon can do, but it is suspected that it can give someone great manipulative power to get whatever they want." Arkeno thinks about how right now he wants nothing more than to be happy. He wonders what life would be like if he could rid himself of Alexia, and perhaps even get to enjoy Keo's company more. One of the men yawn. "Thanks for the story," says the other. "Yes, thank you," Arkeno earnestly says getting off the stool. "Nice to know at least someone appreciates my historical stories." The other two men laugh hysterically. Arkeno takes Chuuwa out of the bar with him, leaving the men to their drunken arguments. "Do you think it is true, Chuuwa?" Arkeno asks the dog, and it just lets out a low growl. "How would we even know of such a thing?" Arkeno stares into the east at the ridge of the crater. He thinks to himself as he takes the pendant in his hand, Do you think? Why not? He brings Chuuwa along as he starts off towards the ridge. This settlement has a dome placed over the top of the entire crater, going just past the ridge. Arkeno and Chuuwa reach the ridge and start following a pathway created previously. It takes them nearly three hours, but they find themselves outside of a temple. It appears almost Aztecan in design, like a pyramid. "I guess this is it," he says as he makes his way with Chuuwa towards an opening in the front. They walk through the opening and it is too dark to see. Arkeno notices a small torch by the entrance. He places the torch on the ground and strikes the blade of the glaive on the ground so it sparks and lights the torch. Holding the torch in his hand he walks in with Chuuwa. Glancing around, he can see many old markings on the wall. "I wonder what they mean," he says mostly to himself. They walk for a good while when suddenly, Arkeno falls to his knees, one hand clutching the pendant, the other still making sure he can see. With a grimace on his face, he pulls himself up with help from Chuuwa and the wall. He thinks to himself, Why did that happen? He looks around the room and notices that he is no longer in the narrow hallway, but in the middle of a circular room. He looks beneath him and sees a dark blue colored circle. He does not know what to think, but he sees ahead of him another passageway. He walks into it. After awhile of walking, he can see light at the end of the hallway. He continues towards it. Upon reaching it, he realizes he has walked straight through the temple and out the other side. He walks out with Chuuwa and stares at the temple. "I must have missed something, Chuuwa, what is it?" Chuuwa stares at him with no answer. Then, Chuuwa barks at Arkeno. He stares at him with question. "What is it, boy?" he asks. Chuuwa stands up on his hind legs and places one of his front paws on the pendant. Arkeno lets Chuuwa get off him and takes a close look at the pendant. It moves from shades of light to dark blue. The dog can see the turning of the shades reflected in Arkeno's eyes. Suddenly, Arkeno drops to his knees again. This time, he does not quickly stand up. With a pained expression on his face, a voice calls him in his head. It is of the man in the bar. "...there is a special isis that when placed in a certain area within the temple, can unleash a great dragon." While still on his knees, Arkeno announces to himself, "A certain place." He stands up with newfound strength. Chuuwa stares up at him. He notices a new coldness in his eyes that was not there before. Completely ignoring the dog, Arkeno walks into the temple once again. Chuuwa follows faithfully behind. Arkeno walks boldly to the center of the circular room. This time, he is not knocked down when he reaches the blue circle. Chuuwa stays back at the entrance into the hallway. Arkeno takes off the pendant. Holding it by the chain, he dangles it in front of his face at eye level. He slowly turns in a circle as the pendant continues it's glow. He stops turning and turns his stare upwards as he lifts the pendant. Afterwards, he brings his gaze towards the floor, moving the pendant along with it. The blue circle begins to glow in an opposite rotation from the pendant. Arkeno's eyes grow wide. He places the pendant around his neck and the circle stops changing shades. Arkeno slowly places his right hand in the direction of the blue circle. A smile crawls across his face as he sends a forceful strike with his glaive. It strikes the floor, at first nothing happens, but Arkeno continues to strike the circle. Slowly, the circle begins to crack. The fractures eventually reach the edge of the circle. With a loud upheaval, the entire room's floor crumbles, bringing both Arkeno and Chuuwa down with it. The scene is faintly black. Arkeno slowly stands to his feet, still smiling. Suddenly, the pendant's glow gets stronger and a little blue bolts shoot from it and they land on various torches set up within the new room. Arkeno is pleased, he does not notice Chuuwa behind him partially buried in debris. The pendant continues to fade in and out. With each rotation of the shades, he takes two steps forward. At this pace he reaches a wall different from the others. This wall has gold designs that come out from the wall. Within the gold structures are various diamonds of different colors. Most of the diamonds have a chain dangling from them. There is one spot left open on the side. Arkeno takes his pendant off and places it there. He feels the ground rumble beneath him. With a tremendous clamor a dragon erupts from the room's floor. It lets out a great growl and turns to face Arkeno and the wall. Arkeno turns to greet the dragon. It is the same one from his dreams. The ones he had been having as of late. He can recognize it's goldish-brown scales and it's great wings. It stands, steam shooting from it's snout as it snorts. Chuuwa has managed to crawl out of the rubble. Still laying on his side, he can see Arkeno from beneath the dragon. He notices Arkeno's eyes locked on the dragon, with a look of manifested wonder. "Charon," Arkeno says lightly under his breath. The dragon continues to hold it's upright stance, snorting repeatedly. Arkeno closes his eyes almost overwhelmed. The dragon that Arkeno refers to as Charon lets out a great roar that shakes the temple greatly. Arkeno opens his eyes unfazed. "I have made my choice, and you already know of it. Don't you, my love.," Arkeno says in a voice deeper than his usual. "Grant my wish, great one." Chuuwa has managed to stand up to his feet. He does not like this scene at all. Growling, he transforms into his wolf form. The dragon's serpent tail ripples menacingly at him. Chuuwa throws his head in the air and lets out a great howl. A green mist forms behind Chuuwa in the darkness. It grows as Chuuwa sets back to leap. Chuuwa starts to charge across the room. The green mist fills by his side all along his run. Halfway through, the entire run seems slowed down. The mist appears to flow into Chuuwa's muscular motions. Chuuwa suddenly picks up a speed beyond his own. He leaps, rippling and tearing, into the back of the dragon. Charon hurls his head backwards and lets out a pain-stricken growl. The dragon whips around, tossing the haburi kedemono against the wall. Chuuwa seems undaunted as he rolls back to his feet, growling with eerie green drool dripping from the side of his mouth. Arkeno shows no anguish for Chuuwa's battle. He just stares placidly. They have both been possessed. The blue pendant of the isis has possessed Arkeno. Another force has possessed Chuuwa with strength beyond his normal to fight the dragon. The dragon starts flapping it's great wings and takes to the air soaring to his right. Chuuwa crouches to the ground and moves to his right. The dragon dives headfirst at Chuuwa. Chuuwa dodges and latches on to the dragon's long neck. His fangs sink in, the taste of blood filling his mouth. The dragon's painful howl is choked off by Chuuwa's grasp. The dragon hits the ground hard and rolls. The force knocks loose Chuuwa's grip. The dragon is quickly back to his feet, and so is Chuuwa. They face each other again, growling and roaring. Charon rips his head back into one more loud howl. Chuuwa tries to seize the dragon's moment of intimidation and moves to attack the most vital part of the dragon's neck. The dragon is faster. It whips it's neck and sends it's own fangs into Chuuwa's side. The dragon lifts the wolf in his mouth, shakes wildly, and Chuuwa's whole body rips apart in the dragon's overpowering grasp. Arkeno remains emotionless. The dragon sets his gaze on Arkeno and walks slowly towards him, Chuuwa's blood dripping from the corners of the dragon's mouth. With each step the dragon takes from the other side of the room, Arkeno moves further in unbuttoning his shirt. The dragon nears and he finishes taking off his clothes. The dragon stands over him. The dragon throws it's head back and lets out a howl. Charon swings his head forward, knocking Arkeno to the floor, kicking up dust all around him. Arkeno is not affected at all by the blow. He waits for the dragon. Charon stands over him. The male dragon proceeds to engage Arkeno sexually. Arkeno wraps his arms around the dragon's neck and holds on. The dragon lets out great howls of pleasure, and Arkeno responds in kind. A gold mist begins falling over Charon and Arkeno. Soon, the mist hardens into a golden globe and the two can no longer be seen through it. Slowly, the globe fades away into nothing and Arkeno blacks out.
