Act II: Possessed with love again? Each member of the group has a hard time sleeping. They each choose to sleep in late. Sooner or later, Aritsune manages to get up. It is already the afternoon and she is ready to get lunch. She gets dressed and leaves her room to go to the cafeteria. She monotonously picks up her food and goes out to find a table. The place seems rather crowded, most people seem to know each other. She does not know that many, she finds an open table and quickly takes it for herself. A few minutes pass when a handsome boy, just a little under Aritsune's age, walks out of the cafeteria line. He looks around as if he knows no one either. He spots Aritsune sitting alone, and decides to sit there next to her. "Hello," he says as he sits at the table. "Hi," Aritsune says back without her usual invigoration. "What is your name?" the boy asks. "Aritsune," she answers. "Hey, you were discussed yesterday about being an heir to the throne." Aritsune looks up surprised that this boy knows such a thing. "What?" the boy questions at Aritsune's stare. "You did not see me there?" "No." "Well, I was discussed and made an advisor," he says as Aritsune continues to stare at him, noticing how his white hair clashes with his brown eyes, but not too badly. "Well, my name is Kourou Nouri." She sits up upon hearing his name. "Yeah, I recognize your name from the meeting. The genius officer from Charon, right?" Kourou bashfully starts to roll his head side to side, "That is what they call me." "What makes you so smart? A bunch of money at your small settlement?" Aritsune asks trying to provoke a different response from the so far cheerful boy. Kourou stares at her and says, "A little cranky are we?" "What makes you say that?" Aritsune asks taking offense to his question. "Well, you're the one giving me the tone." "Hah," Aritsune stands up, mouth open, acting like she had just been given a full verbal assault. "Some genius you are." She stalks out of the cafeteria leaving Kourou looking confused. Although he can not see it, she is smiling as she exits through the door. The day passes slowly. Akari has spent all day in her room, no appetite. The only thing she has done is sleep and play with Yamaneko, the pet she has claimed for her own. She is lying on her side on her bed, with Yamaneko cuddling up next to her. She suddenly hears familiar voices shouting at each other in the hallway. She gets up, disturbing Yamaneko. She opens the door and peers down the hallway. She sees Aritsune and Munenori fighting again. Akari chooses to go out and try to resolve things. She slowly walks down the hall towards them. Just as she reaches them she sees Aritsune go back into her stance. She also sees Munenori reaching for his ryousha tsurai gijou. Akari picks her moment and jumps in between them. "Calm down," she shouts as Aritsune and Munenori growl at each other. "Out of the way cousin," Munenori shouts trying to fight his way over her arm, Aritsune is doing the same. The three all go crashing into each side of the hallway before falling in one big heap. Disgusted with their behavior, Akari leaves in a fury. Munenori crawls away to his room. Aritsune stays on the floor a moment, she hit her head pretty hard against the wall and is feeling a little dizzy. She moves her hand across the floor to find a good spot to hoist herself up. Instead, she finds a chain with a pendant. She picks it up as she gets to her feet. Upon closer examination, she sees it is the isis pendant Quintus gave to Akari just a short while before he died. Aritsune thinks to herself, she must have lost it in the fight. Aritsune makes her way up the hallway stopping outside Akari's room. She knocks on the door. She gets no response. "Akari?" Still no response. Aritsune thinks again, She seemed rather upset about Munenori and I fighting, she must not feel like talking to me now. I will give it to her tomorrow. Aritsune walks to her room. She turns on her lamp and sits down on her bed. She holds the chain in her hand and lets the pendant swing in front on her eyes. She stares into, feeling herself encompassed by it's bright blue color. She feels drawn into the orb, and feels herself spiraling into darkness. She soon finds herself completely in darkness. Eventually she can make out stars. Soon after she makes out the planet Pluto in it's synchronous orbit with Charon, the only planet and moon in the solar system to do that. The stars and Pluto disappear, leaving only the moon, Charon. Soon, Charon starts to disappear, but Kourou's face starts to fade in. She sees his smile and starts to get lost in his eyes. She starts to reach out to him, but suddenly pulls back as she is sharply remembered of her true love, Keiji. All the sad memories of that fateful day rush back at her. She falls to her knees in the darkness. Kourou's full body appears. He is leaning over Aritsune, placing one hand on her back. She looks up as he points. She stares at where he points. It is apparently where Charon use to be. She turns her head to look back at Kourou to ask what the reason for this is, but when she does, she finds that he has turned into a goldish-brown dragon. It spreads it's great wings and lets out it's shrill growl into the vastness of the darkness. It is at that point that Aritsune awakes. She finds herself lying on the bed, with Chuuwa sleeping next to her bed, the pendant still in her hand. She sits up in bed, it appears that it is early morning and the sun is just rising on Europa. She reaches an arm down and roughs up Chuuwa around the neck. "Yeah, you'll stay by my side over Munenori, won't you boy?" Chuuwa lets out a light whine of enjoyment at Aritsune's stroke. Aritsune climbs out of bed and gets dressed. She exits her room and sees that Akari has not yet left her room. She walks to the cafeteria to catch an early breakfast. She gets in line and gets her food. She walks out to find Kourou already eating his breakfast, too. She decides she was a little too harsh on him the previous day and walks over. She sits down next to him and he says, "Whoa! Please, I did not mean to say anything. Just don't freak." "Calm down," Aritsune says reassuringly. "I just want to eat breakfast with you." "Oh, okay." The two eat breakfast without saying a word. Finally, Aritsune strikes up conversation. "You know, I had a strange dream last night.," she says. "Oh yeah?" Kourou asks somewhat interested. "There is usually a lot of information in dreams." "Yes, I know. This one had you in it." "Me?" "Yeah, I was in space, near Charon, you appeared and then so did a dragon. "Weird." "Yeah." The two continue talking about various unimportant topics until they finish eating breakfast. They take their trays to their container together. "We will have to eat together again sometime," Kourou says. "How about lunch?" Aritsune asks. "I'm sorry, but I have to leave." "What?" "I have to go back to Charon to make sure everything is running smoothly with the new leadership, and then I will be back." "Oh, so I will see you soon then?" "No," Kourou answers. "When I get back, I will be stuck in meetings and will be spending my time advising the temporary ruler." "Oh, that's too bad." Aritsune says solemnly. "I am sure we will eventually cross paths again sometime." Aritsune brightens up at his remark. On this note they part.
