The story of Card Captors...

Card Captors- The beginning

Card captors all started when a famous comic group decided to make a comic about it. These artists were called Clamp, and they made their cartoon named Cardcaptor Sakura. It began as a series in the very popular form of Japanese manga, in a magazine, Nakayoshi.
Then in 1998, it was turned into a cartoon program that was showed on TV for the first time in April. The show is still running at the moment and is very popular in Japan, and other countries too. There was also a film released in Japan on August 21st about Sakura winning a trip to Hong Kong!!

So Sakura was a cute, smart 4th grader who had normal life in Japan. Despite having no mother, she enjoyed living with her brother Tori, and her dad. She was pretty good at every thing, and she likes cheerleading and baton twirling.
One day she heard a strange noise from her father's library in the basement. She went down there and saw a bit of light coming from a shaking book. She picked up the book, it was a book called "The Clow" which had a big golden lion on the front. The fist card in the book was the windy card; she picked it up and read out its name, puzzled. As Sakura said "windy", a wind was released. It blew all the cards out of the book, which scattered all around Japan.
The book was actually the place where all of the magical Clow Cards, created by a magician named Clow Reed were sealed. When the cards were released, a little cute bear creature with tiny wings named Kero-berus, who's real form was the huge lion on the front of the book appeared. He said that he had dozed off for a few years for a nap, and was to blame for the cards escaping, as he should of been guarding the cards.
He appointed Sakura to be the card captor to put the magic cards back in the right place, and put all of the blame on her. He gave her a key, which changed into a magical staff whenever she says "Oh key of Clow, (bla, bla, bla)…release the light!" and could capture the Clow Cards back.
The cards must be kept inside the book. They had very strong powers, and once they became too strong, they did what they wanted. This could mean reeking havoc wherever they wanted. So Sakura was to put them all back again.

Sakura is not the only one who can capture the cards, for a descendant of Clow Reed, named Li, helps her in her quest. The cards can be unleashed easily; just saying the name released them.
