Iori "Cody" Hida (02)
Cody lives with his mother in the same apartment building/mansion as TK and Yolei. He is nine years old and goes to odaiba elementary. He is an only child, and his father passed away when he was very young.
Cody's grandfather teaches him kendo, a type of japanese martial art. Kendo has helped him in many ways. Instead of getting angry at others, he can use kendo as an outlet for his anger and not hurt anyone, since he hasn't really mastered the art of kendo and can't quite beat his grandfather yet. At each kendo lesson, which Cody never fails to attend and lets nothing get in his way of going, his grandfather, his sense for kendo, unknowingly teaches him lessons that he later refers back to and learns from. Unlike other children, he hasn't lost interest in hanging out with his grandfather, even though his grandfather is a *little* wacky.
Cody is a deep thinker and strives to do what is right. He often feels bad because he fears he hasn't lived up to others' expectations of him. Cody is quiet and maybe that's because people dislike him, because they don't understand him or they don't like his hair or clothes. Sometimes he has problems communicating with others because he doesn't always know how to present his ideas in the right way and he doesn't want people to laugh at him. he takes things very seriously, and is the most mature one of the group. Maybe too mature.
Cody is now the youngest member of the Digidestined crew, since T.K. and Kari have both aged. Even though he is the youngest, he is the most responsible out of all the children, opting to keep the others on track, instead of joining in on their fun.
Cody was chosen to become a Digidestined because when Myotismon was searching for the eighth child, he was one of the children that was brought before Gatomon to see if he was the one. Cody was turned away, because myotismon did not know of the three other digidestined..
Many people say that Cody looks very sullen, this could be because of his father, who was a police man, and was killed in the line of duty.
