A thousand years
ago when Talpa first tried to invade our world, the Ancient One was there
fighting him. He was a warrior mage and was the only one who defeated Talpa.
He used a magic sword which later became his staff to defeat Talpa but
Talpa's armor was left behind. Realizing that the armor is a link to Talpa
and a chance for Talpa to return, the Ancient One used his magic to forge
Talpa'a armor into the nine armors, infusing each one with a Confucian
or Bushido virtue. The armors were then locked away until the time they
were needed. It was from the Ancient One that the Ronin Warriors recieved
their armors more or less one year before Talpa's second invasion. The
seasonal armors were taken back by Talpa four centuries earlier, having
created the four Dark Warlords.
The Ancient
One appears for the first time in episode 3 when he uses his staff to split
the road when Anubis was chasing the Ronins in his chariot. The Ancient
One acts a guide for the Ronin Warriors when they are in a state of onfusion.
He sacrificed himself to creat the energy brigde to the Nether world in
the first arc of the story but he later communicates with the Ronin Warriors
and Anubis through the magic staff he left behind. Kayura was part of his
clan but she didn't realize it and the Ancient One wanted Kayura to continue
on following his ways.
