Have been drawing for : .manga style since 1997, CG since last year
Dream : become a successful anime director, or maybe just a pro mangaka
should be more than enough...^_^
Tools & how do I draw my manga:
1. come out with story idea. Think about the plot, the beginning, the
ending, and the climax. Think about plot, the more interesting, the better
it is, the more different is the ides, the more original it is. Think about
climax and the most important event.
2. Decide how do you want to start the manga. I prefer to jump straight
into the plot, no need to do the usual introduction ( my name is... I'm
14 years old, and my class is blabla...).
3. Sketch using pencil (mine is H pencil ), arrange the panels of the
page. Lately I tried to make my panels' shape varied, some panels is bigger
than other, and not neccessarily in a proper rectangle shape.
4. Sketch the character roughly, I learn that it is better to draw more
full body shot than just close up in manga. hehe... oh.. don't worry about
the background at first. Try different angle, try close up, try medium shot,
try full body shot, try just to draw one part of the body (neck, hand, finger..etc)
Be creative.. be free.
5. Usually, people draw and write the dialogue as well. For me, I always
do the dialogue last ( because I'm bad at scriptwriting). I just put empty
speech balloon in the page, so I don't need to draw the whole background
later.Oh..sketch the BG
6. Ink the page. any ink will do, any pen will do, as long as you keep
it constant. I'm too lazy to use proper inking pen, I just use anything
I have at the moment
7. Scan the pic, color it using Photoshop, or maybe Painter, or any software
will do
8. Oh.. I have a tablet here. WACOM tablet. It's very useful if you like
to draw and color pictures. I have no regret buying it. ^____^
9. That's it.. oh.. my tips : just have fun and enjoy the drawing process.
Even though the pic didn't turn out like you're expected. Keep drawing,
and you'll improve before you notice it.
