Celebrating our Berner Veterans In Loving Memory of Socks Alrich Socrates August 23rd 1993 to April 27th 2006 So much loved and sadly missed by Suzanne Deering and family Socks was the oldest Berner in the Veterans’ Parade in 2005 at Gettysburg. Although it was his first time in the ring, he worked the crowd like a real pro. He’d have been the oldest in Michigan in 2006, but sadly passed away the day before we were to leave for Michigan.
